Because circumstances might change and I may then consider that World Peace is doable. However, if it's not even on my list of goals, I won't be alert to the possibility.

If circumstances can change to make it possible, it was always possible. Changing the circumstances is just another thing to do on the way.

But you can't always anticipate what will happen in the future. As a child, I would never have guessed quite how much the internet would change my life. As an adult, I never would have anticipated how the fear of terrorism and two wars in the Middle East would change the entire world.

It's possible you did figure these things out in advance. I apologise for only having human-level intelligence and foresight.

The best route to world peace is for all countries to become dependent on each other, and I don't just mean financially.

To elaborate; War is expensive and time-consuming. Think about how Iraq and Afghanistan could improve themselves if they spent their money on improving their land.

Not only does this read as outright prejudice, but is a testament to just how little you know about how the world works. Regardless of how 'peaceful' the people appear to be, you're still living in a militarized country. China is one of the big 'threats' at the moment, and they aren't cool with our whole regime of "Well we wont give up our nukes, but you should totally give up yours. That way everyone's happy!"

I think the term 'survival of the fitest' pretty much sums up the predicament.
If you didn't kick up a fuss when the enemy invaded, you got killed. Hence we are decendants of invaders and will continue to invade.
I heard about this race of isolated non-agressive people somewhere in Asia (I think, let me know if you've heard of something similar) that don't even have a word for 'fighting', and never partake in competitions either.
The developed world stepped in on their little sancutary and now they're dying out.
Solution? I really can't think of one that isn't full of holes.

I don't know, I think that if World Peace was achieved then war will end and everyone will fornicate with one another even more, because no-one hates anyone and then we will have no resources to feed ourselves with and die.
