"I slapped Jo Momma so hard, my hand hurts" :) I love that line.

Ah, so that’s how they put him in the game. Greenscreen.

I was just impressed by how close their costumes are. I found it completely by accident.

You actually remembered what all the outlaws looked like?

It does, doesn't it. |
I think most of us do.

The Good, The Bad and The Odd. (Remembers the Simpsons "Paint your wagon" song)
At first glance Stranger's Wrath does look a lot different to previous Oddworld games. However there is a lot of similarity in the nature of the story, the humor and the characters. The term 'outlawz' is a bit corny, but at the same time, I've seen a lot worse in terms of creativity prior to this. I prefer having more suitable characters depending on the environment, rather then just shoehorning in the Glukkons and Sligs. Sekto fits the villain's chair quite adequately and leaving out the industrial characters was a good way of trying to explore new surroundings and mechanics. Stranger's Wrath was pretty much one of the best Xbox-exclusives, and it definitely feels like a perfect definition of a great game. I'm so surprised that there are so many ladies that play this game. Compare that to how many play Halo 3 / Gears of War ;) |
WHAT!
Oddworld in the days of PS1 was very populor! Sure not as populor as Crash or spyro but AO and AE are and always will be Populor Anyways... i didn't like Stranger's Wrath at all and i agree Why did they make it?! MO wasn't crap, yeah it was well....diffrent, i wich they brought out Munch's Exoddus :

This complaining at Strangers' superior strength is surprising, in a way. In the art book, the Stranger section at the end discussed the previous thing about having Oddworld's character physically weak, but powerful in other ways. A good theology was worked for Stranger into his game, considering it's necessity after Munch's huge flop. Whilst Stranger is physically much more capable than Abe or Munch, he initially lacks their morals and care for others that Abe and Munch start out with. Where Abe and Munch find 'power' in certain forms and the ability to achieve their goals, Stranger starts realising about and caring for those around him (namely the Grubbs), and having the power to do something about it.
Stranger's Wrath was, of course, needed for a sort of last gasp, for some money to try to rebuild from where they'd ended up, hence EA being the publisher also. Also why it has thus taken such a long, gradual process. Anything else has been mentioned already. |
