It's good for the average computer user, yea. But not for a hardcore computer nerd like me who uses their computer for more then just chatting and gaming. There's still a lot of compatibility problems which are to serious for a serious computer user.

You can upgrade to Vista when it will be updated and the programmes will be updated too. They are making a good job, I noticed improvements since I have Vista. New versions of programmes and of Codecs. And Vista Codec 4.5.0. prevents any blocks.

Mojo 11-02-2007 11:51 AM

I say Mass Effect.

But then again, I say lots of things.

Mac Sirloin 11-02-2007 12:27 PM

I say Brutal Legend.

I wonder why?

Laser 11-02-2007 01:15 PM

hmm maybe because it looks like something from kronin of barbaria?
i.e Really good?
;)

Alf Shall Rise 11-02-2007 03:46 PM

OH SHIZ ASSASSIN'S CREED.

Can't wait for this game, I'll spend a month just exploring the first mission (or level, or part, whatever), and climb everywhere. Then I'll waste an hour pushing people around, and after a year has passed, I'll actually try to beat the game.

Oh yea. People who get rid of their fingers for a portable knife is so cool.

Daxter King 11-04-2007 07:09 PM

Call of Duty 4=Better than both.

Is anyone else thinking that Moxco is Christopher Walken because of this?

Is he that dude in 'Catch Me if You Can'?

Laser 11-05-2007 09:38 AM

call of duty 4?

don't make me laugh! Crysis is about 500 times better!

I mean CoD4 is basically CoD 3 with better graphics and a modern story

AlienMagi 11-05-2007 12:12 PM

Laser I almost agree...but I think it's 1000 times better...
Soz but I think that COD sux...

Havoc 11-05-2007 01:28 PM

As said by me in the original COD3 topic:

Call of Duty 4: Experience World War 2 trough the eyes of the allied commander!
Call of Duty 5: Experience World War 2 trough the eyes of the german commander!
Call of Duty 6: Experience World War 2 trough the eyes of Sergeant Jimmy!
Call of Duty 7: Experience World War 2 trough the eyes of Sergeant Jimmy's Wife!
Call of Duty 8: Experience World War 2 on an all new graphical engine. We'll just redo a story from one of the prequals!
Call of Duty 9: Experience World War 2 from the civilian point of view.
Call of Duty 10: Experience World War 3 trough the eyes of Segeant Jimmy's father! And we still havn't made a new engine!
Call of Duty 10 Booster Pack: Jimmy's Demise.
Call of Duty 10 Booster Pack: Jimmy's wife cheats on Jimmy while he's in the hospital.
Call of Duty 11: Experience Jimmy's personal life with stunning new graphics, while all we did was tweak the engine a bit!

...
...

Call of Duty 20: Will Jimmy's son manage to keep his relation with commander baker a secret? And will Jimmy's wife finaly give birth to General Lee's son? See it next time on Call of Duty 21: The Final Final Final Final Final Final Conflict! (for real this time, depending on how it sells).

CoD 4 looks awesome. There is serious fail in this thread.

Laser 11-06-2007 11:36 AM

it does.

but not as good as rainbow six vegas (which is like it)

nor as good as crysis

Daxter King 11-06-2007 01:28 PM

CoD 4 is infinitely better than Rainbow Six.

Quoted for truth, and here, you want to make a Tom Clancy game?

Scroll down, asshole.

Slig 7665 11-10-2007 02:45 AM

I am not sure if this thred is still working but I is hopeing to get the assassins creed boxset thingy.

Havoc 11-16-2007 11:26 AM

I've been playing Crysis for the last few days and I must say, it's one of the most awesome games I've come across yet. I've been playing a lot in the past two days and I think I've already had a good 10 hours of playing time just going trough the first 3 levels. Wether thats me messing around (coming up with the funniest way to kill Koreans is fun :D) or actual playtime I dunno.
There are only a couple of downsides to this game though:

1. Unless you have standing a 10.000 dollar computer with the latest tech in it you will not be able to run the game to anywhere near Very High settings. I have a state of the art computer and if I run it on full the game either crashes or gives me an FPS of 2. I'm running everything on medium with AA set at 2 (don't be fooled though, it still looks pretty good, looks better with AA at 16 though ;)). However, Crytek insisted that the game specs they published would be enough for the best quality. In this case, that's false advertising.

2. It's an EA game. While Crytek is responsible for the majority of the game development, they have a deadline to meet. With the usual pressure of EA the game is left with some serious (though not fatal) bugs. For instance the game installed fine but is launched in windowed mode by (I think) default. The game sometimes has trouble sticking to a resolution after restarting it and will sometimes also turn off any AA settings you put in.

Other then those two points Crysis is a very cool game which I absolutely recommend you play at least once in your life!

Laser 11-17-2007 08:09 AM

enjoy:

Havoc 01-28-2008 10:30 PM

A good 2 months after my last post here I need to revise some statements I made:

1. COD4 = AWSOME. I take back any negative comments I had on COD4.

2. Crysis, although very awesome gameplay, the story sucks some very major ass. I never (and I mean never) came across a game that has SUCH a LAME ending... EVER. Not to mention a list fatal bugs (especially on the carrier level) really ruined the game for me in the end mission.

3. Just got Assassins Creed yesterday and I am loving the HELL out of this game. I've murdered tons of people, killing people in this game is more fun then it is in GTA. And the free running side of the game is some very serious pwnage.

Strike Witch 01-29-2008 12:20 AM

Advance Wars: Days Of Ruin> all.

mudling 01-29-2008 05:25 PM

Orange box, Masseffect and Call of Duty 4 all own these games (And I have thewm :))
I hated prince of persia, I liked it at first, but it was just too bloody hard, so I'm afraid to try Assassins creed
But then again, I didn't like Half life 2 at first, I guess it gets better past the middle though. Loved portal though, and that game alone would probably woop assasins creed and crysis, sure cyrsis seems great and there's a huge amount of effort put into it, but it's just too great for it's time, give it a couple of years when the average computer (like mine) can put up with it, and it'll be awesome. :D

Laser 01-30-2008 07:36 AM

my (pretty average) computer can play Crysis

on low mind

Hobo 01-30-2008 09:00 AM

CoD 4 is good fun, if a little frustrating. I have only played multiplayer though

Crysis is pretty but nothing special.

abe is now! 02-01-2008 04:19 AM

I'd buy all these games, if I had the money.

Wings of Fire 02-01-2008 04:39 AM

I'd spam to make my post count massive if I thought it would earn me more respect within the forum.

COD4 is much better than expected. I haven't got the other two.

AlienMagi 02-01-2008 06:39 AM

F-Damn I thought this thread allready died.
Anyway after a few months I bought BOTH of theese gamez.
I also have PS3 anyway... If you ask me Crysis is a lot better then Assassin SC because when you finish all missions of ASA you get bored. But I never get bored with Crysis.
Anyway I don't say ASA is not good I just like Crysis for more.

AlienMagi

AbesGenerationX 02-15-2008 09:30 AM

I'll buy Assassin's Creed for PS3, i love that, but is a little copied to Prince of Persia

Xavier 02-15-2008 10:16 AM

it is not really copied, it simply made by the same guys

Why the hell do you keep calling the game "Assassin SC", and "ASA"?!
It's Assassins Creed, for crying out loud! AC! OMGWTFBBQ!

Not that I play them... PC can't handle them, and I don't have a PS3. I could buy AC for Xbox360 though...

Fuzzle King 02-17-2008 12:13 PM

cod 4 is amazing online but the story's abit short.
and i absolutely LOVED assassins creed because its so much fun to play.My only flaw with it is that it gets slightly repetitve.
but both excellent games.

sam250 02-17-2008 12:15 PM

Anything made by Valve is the dogs bollocks- Half Life 2 and Portal in perticular, I love those games. Unfortunatly, I'm stuck with a slightly crapper PC then I'm used too, and Half Life 2 won't run at a level I'm happy at, which bloody well sucks, as I still havn't completed it yet!

Talking about Half Life and Crysis- remember when Half Life 2 was the benchmark for all gaming technology. Hardly anyone could play it, and there were jokes about robots from the future that could count the number of atoms in a star AND play TWO copies of Half Life 2 at once. Well, Half Life 2 is a bit more acheivable now, and is even started to look a bit dated. But the point is, notice how Crysis has replaced it as the high end of gaming tech?

This is totally off topic...

so....everyone else whose posted comments about it in this thread are not off-topic,huh?

AlienMagi 02-17-2008 12:29 PM

Yes they are, and I hate when everyone do that to my threads!

Fuzzle King 02-17-2008 12:35 PM

yes but everyone who has talked about it have talked about 1 or both of the games this thread was intended for aswell.so as long as people still talk about them two games,it okay.

AlienMagi 02-17-2008 12:36 PM

Ok, whatever then...
But i still think you should make Cod thread for that.

sreeja 02-17-2008 08:19 PM

Yes these two games are really suit for the new generation.I almost enjoy this game.

No, there is a difference between HL and Crysis and that is that by the time HL2 came out it might have had some huge specs but the hardware to run it on max specs was available on the market at normal prices (which I know since I happened to have a computer running HL2 on full at the time). The hardware to run Crysis on full specs is either not even released yet, or costs a billion dollars in the store.
And on that note, Crysis' graphics are impressive only when set on maximum. Set it down even one notch and it's nothing special anymore.
