I'm into various bands, of various genres:
System of a Down, David Bowie, Cradle of Filth, The Smashing Pumpkins, Mr. Bungle, Dimmu Borgir, Faith No More, Dethklok and Fantomas. The last album that I hadn't heard before I bought, was: http://www.rockdetector.com/assets/i...ers/201019.jpg in late 2006.. As of late, David Bowie - Aladdin Sane (his best work). |
I've said it in a previous thread, but I've always considered Low and Heroes his best albums.
Behold... the Arctopus, Dsrthythmia or Psyopus anyone? If so, you techmetallers you. |
:
Heroes is a good album though, but the track "Heroes" is the only brilliant song I can remember at the moment. I'm sure there's more.. |
Then that album is not for you, as it has ambient influence (Brian Eno to blame). But my favourite track from David Bowie is Subterraeneans, beautiful track it be.
Heroes has Joe the Lion, Blackout and Neukoln are the highlights of the album, at least in my opinion. |
:
His best album ever, is usually considered, "Ziggy Stardust". And it is in someways, but in terms of powerful, fun, refreshing hard rock, then Aladdin Sane is the way to go. Hunky Dory is also just as good, but I'm a little sick of it. The Man Who Sold the World is very, very underrated. (Saviour Machine). Well, that's David Bowie summed up. I'm glad to meet another fan! :D |
I remember loving Aladdin Sane and Outside. It's been a while, though.
|
Slayer, anyone? I hurt my neck headbanging yesterday.

Have I ever mentioned that Modest Mouse is great? 'Cause they are.
|
Indeed, Modest Mouse is the music I use for long car trips when I am -1 PSP.
Very calming, but at the same time, well, various things. |
This is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about.
My favorite album. |
Good name, too.
I only have the relics on my elder sisters computer, I must purcahse an album post-haste. Oh, and Fascismile, if you ever read this thread, I have gotten myself a SoaD album, so I am not that low anymore. |
Slayer rule. *starts headbanging to South of Heaven*

Don't be praising me quite yet, it was a used copy, though new copies of Toxicity are hard to come by.
Anyway That guy who does the music for the madness seies. |
Toxicity is gold. GOLD! SWEET SWEET GOLD
|
Over here there is about 10,000,00 copies of Toxcitiy firsthand just about everywhere, at the Warehouse for like $15 NZD.
|
System of a Down's best album is Mezmerize. Their self-titled debut is almost as good, and so is Hypnotize. Toxicity, although an album of pure genius, is extremely overrated. Steal This Album! is probably their worst. :D
:
Mr. Bungle is easily his best project. :D |
I can get all ofthose for less than the price of a samich.
Anyone care for the pople who use anooying technobeats to movie quotes to create delightfully hilarious songs? I've gotta jar of dirt.... |
:
THIS IS SPARTA THIS IS SPARTA!!! |
Series of tubes!
Apart from that (momentarily) How does OWF feel about Kanye West? He seems to have a sense of humour. |
Anyone here like Cradle of Filth? They're kind of freaky...but they do make great music (when they're not screaming..) :D
|
System of the Down is awesome. Crazy homicidal Armenian ftw!
|
Right now I'm listening to Disturbed - Land of Confusion. It's brilliant.

Erm... I'm still listening to Queen. It's coherent, I like it.
|
:
"Go listen to some real black metal" I do. Dimmu Borgir, Immortal, and Unlord, are some of my favourite bands. |
I've actually been listening to a more well known, newer band called Panic! At the Disco (you've probably heard of it already). So far I like Shotgun Wedding, I Constantly Thank God for Esteban, and Camisado.
|
:
|
alf_shall_rise, do you mean "Panic! at the Disco", because they're a well known band, and I don't think I've heard of Panic at the Panic.
|
Yea. I always seem to not know what I'm typing whilst typing the name of a band. :P

Oh and I will admit failure in telling you to listen to real black metal. *tips hat* |
:
Tartaros, are a virtually unknown Carnival black metal band, I don't know why; their music is just...awesome. Oh yeah, and Cradle of Filth aren't officially "Black Metal". They don't believe in strict genre barriers; they said "the only way to describe us is 'Cradle of Filth'". Personally, I'd call them 'Extreme Gothic (even Vampyric) Metal'. :
How little you know. I own: 4 Immortal albums, (Blizzard Beasts, At The Heart of Winter, Damned in Black, and Sons of Northern Darkness - SOND is easily their best. I can easily just give reviews of all of them now.) 1 Dimmu Borgir album, (For All Tid - Shit album, but it was given to me. And, it was their debut, they hadn't found their style, and it's all in Norsk. So, cut them some slack. But man, their new stuff, so indescribably brilliant.) a 'Moon' album, (an unknown Black Metal band, but the album was pretty good) Marduk - "Heaven Shall Burn...When We are Gathered" (Eh, not for me. Way, way, WAY too fast and brutal; even for me). I also own an Aborym record, a Darkthrone one (sorry, but easily the worst piece of ....*beeep*... I've ever heard), and 3 Unlord albums. Unlord are great, and they're just as unknown as...Tartaros, or even Moon. I don't actually like Black Metal, per se (especially the National Socialist side of it), but damn, "Symphonic Black Metal" is a whole other story.. So yeah, you should be feeling some failure right about now. :crafty: |
Panic! at the Disco is a syphilitic plague advancing the "scene." H8red

:p |
Buckethead, anyone?
I am finally getting an MP3 Player big enough for most of his songs, if not all. |
