I actually think they got more creative with the pokemon. I prefer some of the newer ones over the older ones, myself. Although slowpoke will always be my favorite :p.

Almost got the 8th badge, in the Gym as we speak. I have:
Blumbo the Drifblim Zircon the Bronzong Tidus the Manaphy Gaia the Torterra Remedi the Vespiquen Aero the Togekiss I only cheated two of those in, I swear! I couldn't resist, sorry. Manaphy from the egg, and just plain using an encounter mod for Togekiss...at least I didn't make them shiny as well. Togekiss sounds WEIRD. It sorta suits it, but it makes you "WTF?" Chimcharmander. Gettit? Heh, heh...D: Infernape was okay, but I just think Blaziken is far superior in the Fire/Fighting department :D Go Blazey! Oh, and lol, I caught Dialga on my first Ultra ball. I was expecting that fight be somewhat difficult. |

And does anyone know how the Map Marker Poketch application works? I've been trying to find Cresselia with it, but I haven't a clue how to use it. |
My favourite pokemon is Breloom. Nuff' said. But anyway, i might be getting pearl on Friday or Saturday depending on when the game comes.

Well, it may be stupid in your opinion, but I nickname them mainly because the caps lock versions of their names annoy the shit out of me. Don't ask me why, but seeing an obnoxious "Go KADABRA!" or "Go DRIFBLIM!" everytime I send one of them out to battle makes me want to smack someone. It's like talking to some twelve-year-old in an AOL chatroom.

Yeah, Snuzi, I know what you mean. I do remember having the annoying caps letters. But can't you just name them their same name without the caps?
It just always bugged me for some reason, to have a name other than the original name of the character, or for your main guy to be anything other than what his name was in the actual stories (I can't remember what his name was) I guess I'm just weird in that way.:p And can you seriously trade through ID numbers, and without link cables, in the new ones? When did that start (As I mentioned I've only played up until Silver/Gold), and how does it work? |
Well, you can do that, but then you'd have, for example, an Alakazam named Abra :p. You could always go and change the name, but you'd have to find the name rater, and to remain consistent, keep changing the name as they evolve. I just don't want to deal with that, so I always think up a random, not-so-clever name for each of them.
And I believe that the trading and battles can be done through the WiFi feature if you know a person's friend ID. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly how it works, as I don't have the WiFi feature as of yet :(. |

Or just wireless internet, I heard. But the best router is some Buffalo thing, I think, designed specifically with the DS in mind. I'm worried that when I do get online, I may be slightly screwed as my microphone is sorta f*cked (2nd hand DS, otherwise it is perfect). I didn't use to like nicknaming Pokemon, but now I'm irritated if I don't. Dunno why.
One of the best DS features: wireless. No more retards at school threatening to pull cables out :D The p*icks. Importing teams from Ruby=good. But whya re the legendaries so much harder to catch now? That stupid Azelf ended up killing itself against me before I caught the stupid thing >.< I'm doing other things instead at the mo. |
I had the same problem with Azlef. I just gave up on catching it eventually, since I was more concerned with getting the NationalDex than catching it.

You need to teach the HM Strength to one of your pokemon in order for one of them to be able to move the boulder.

The lost tower on route 209, just south of Solaceon Town. Go to the top of the tower, and talk to one of the old women there. She'll give you the HM.

Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf are a legendary trio of Diamond and Pearl, all Psychic, but with varied placement of base stats and moves. They all sorta look like Mew, same body shape.
If you slow down Mew or Mewtwo's cry in the pokedex, it sounds really creepy. Seriously, try it if you can. Just...O.o at it. Boulders in the secret base sucks. |

Nice nice. What I dislike about Empoleon is that he takes a hell of alot of damage from ground and fighting attacks. Even if the pokemon using the attack is 10 or 20 levels below him. Other than that, he's a pretty good starter, in my opinion.

My Pokemon Ruby tag-team was a Dusclops and a Bannete, Bitchy and Bitchier.
They owned everyone. If I ever get Diamond, I'd want that creepy Balloon one and Rotom. Rotom is awesome. |
Yes, Rotom is pretty damn good. Especially since he isn't affected by ground attacks. That's a definite plus.

You can't get Rotom though until you complete the normal Sinnoh Dex >.< Teh sucky. The balloon one only appears at the windmill place on Fridays, just standing there. Irritating when I got that far on Tuesday when I got the game. I eventually went back and added it to my team, though. Iz nice?

The top guy, -Sky-, doesn't have the best spelling in the world, but he can host a nice tournament. The tournament we did yesterday was a Baby Tournament. In this tournament you could only use the 1st stage of a Poke'mon that can evolve. The max level was 5. This kind of tournament really tests your breeding skills. My brother got himself a DS and a copy of Pokemon Diamond. He now is telling me that I should get Pearl so we can battle and trade. I'm not sure about getting it though. I'm used to the old school games (I haven't even played Emerald/Ruby/Sapphire nor FireRed/LeafGreen. Only Crystal and Yellow) so playing the new games seems a little weird to me. But I might get Pearl.

It's really just a step up from Ruby (Which was a slight step up from Crystal).
It'll have the core elements from Crystal (not Yellow, no fruity Pikachu who tells you how he feels), just a lot of excess flash. Contests, different balls, etc. I was completely convinced you could go to Johto/Kanto, so I rushed through to and pass the Elite Four. Now I have little to do. Pity me. |
That gym leader chick in Sunyshore City had me fooled. I though Johto would be accessible as well after beating the Elite Four. Shame.
