Sorry, I just come back from the local pub with my friends-I feel drowsy and can't read the text on the screen proprly (trust me gettin drunk int like me )

Jordan 02-11-2007 10:40 AM

If you're really drunk, get off the PC and rest. You don't wanna be posting n00bish and spammy things while you're drunk do ya?

and i like drawn together B-)

Drawn Together is damn terrible. I'd rather watch Jimmy Carr while stoned than subject myself to the toilet humour-filled train crash that is Drawn Together.

I did that once... Wasn't pretty.

What do you all think of the upcoming Simpsons film?

Bullet Magnet 02-11-2007 02:43 PM

I think I'm going to reserve judgement until I see it. However, the trailer with the CGI rabbit is genius.

Taytay 02-11-2007 02:52 PM

I love Futurama, and I think a reason some people don't like it is because they don't get it. Otherwise they hate it because they have a different taste in humor.

I personaly love it so much, as well as my girlfriend. We watch it all the time, and we think it's really funny, though sometimes one of us has to explain the joke to one another but I love it.
She has all the seasons of it on DVD except season 1. I am excited about the new season, though I hope it hasn't lost it's humor.

My favorite character? Recently it has been Mr. Zoidberg (or however you spell it...)
I love the episode where it's like the wizard of Oz, and they all are magicaly teleported to the witch's castle and everyone except Mr. Zoidberg says "Hey why were he brought to your castle?"
and Mr. Zoidberg says "And why did I have to take a cab?!"
Hahaha...I guesss you have to watch it to get the humor.

snuzi 02-11-2007 07:57 PM

See, I'd like it if it wasn't so hacky. All the humor in that show seems a bit old and repetitive. It just seems to me like a poor attempt at creating a second Simpsons.

I'm so, so sorry about that. That was the first time I was drunk in years. I'm just used to being on the PC. At least I got my facts right though, there were 72 episodes. Again, sorry.

moxco 02-12-2007 11:25 AM

Its funny but not even nearly half as good as The Simpsons.

Kamille 02-12-2007 05:52 PM

Futurama is great I like Bender.

Nate 02-12-2007 06:37 PM

I may have mentioned this in another thread but I met a kid recently who told me that he thought The Simpson's was crap and always had been. I realised that he was so young (13ish) that he hadn't even born when it was at its peak.

I felt old.

Heh, don't you feel old - I'm nearly 37, in a few years, I'll be 40! I feel really old - I've been around to see Starsky and Hutch, Magnum P.I, Air Wolf, Quantum Leap, Futurama, Star Wars, SpaceBalls, etc.
I feel ancient. I think I might cry in a minute, I want to be young again - ah, the seventies, the days where I'd get home from work, sit down on the sofa, crack open a drink and watch Starsky and Hutch. I was only young, mind you, but sometimes, my dad would let me drink some of his beer. In fact, I speak for my dad with the bit 'get home from work'. Oh, I also remember Miami Vice. Life is now the opposite of peace and quiet.

Munch's Master 02-13-2007 05:30 AM

Futurama is greatness. I have every series on DVD, bought the complete set for a bargain at something like £60. I'm looking forward to it returning, and IMO it is far funnier than The Simpsons. It uses more subtle, witty humour rather than the straightforward comedy of The Simpsons. I like both shows, but prefer Futurama. Family Guy is good too, probably tied with Futurama for me. Dr Zoidberg is the best character of the lot, followed narrowly by The Professor.

Fuzzle Guy 02-13-2007 08:07 AM

I have every episode of every series of Futurama on DVD and generally I find I prefer it to the Simpsons.

Apparently pre-re-release (awesome word I just improvised) there's going to be a movie. Happy days! And yes I do love Futurama - I got the full set, I've watched every episode at least twice :D

I'm afraid there is no movie, but there are going to be 13, 1 hour episodes goign straight to DVD (They will not be shown on TV). They are expected to be released this December.

Rupture Farms 10-03-2007 04:11 AM

Futurama's a decent show. But it should of at least reached 5 seasons in my opinion.

It is generally a really, really clever show. And usually it's extremely funny.
But as someone stated earlier, it might just try a bit too hard sometimes..
In my humble opinion, the only funny characters are Farnsworth, Zoidberg, and possibly Fry and Leela's interactions.

Until about a year ago, I thought this show was just a mediocre Matt Groening offering, but then I saw the Season 4 episode, "Jurassic Bark".
Watch it, it's too hard to explain.

Absolutely beautiful animation, and a great all-star cast.
I'll finish by saying: Not the best show, but when it's on, I'll probably watch it.

I LOVE CAPITALS

... I'm not going to say spam since you're a mod and all now, but what I will say is what is the world comming to?
oh, and sorry if I made a mistake, but from what I'm read, I assumed your post wasn't to alert people not to use capitals.
On toppic, I like it, although I think mat groenning or whoever should stick with the simpsons.
I only watch it when it's on, and I'm not doing anything else better.
I like dr. zoidberg, he would normally piss me off, but I don't take him seriously, being a giant talking alien cartoon lobster and all.
Bender's ok too, and lila, or whatever her name is, the rest of the characters are normal and boring, I'd be glad if they replaced them with aliens, fry and the proffecer are ok, only because they are the main character and I like crazy proffecers.
The series goes far too slowly though, and it's obvious that lelia is going to meet her *spoilers ahead if you honsetly care* mutant parents, fry and lelia will be together, that alien green guy will rebel and go with that asian chick, etc.
I think the show would be much better with just Fry, Lelia and Bender, the others just get in the way, maybe zoidberg and the proffecer could appear as a guest or something, but other than that, it's just made it complicatedbly boring.
It's watchable. which beats alot of thiungs of TV these days however.

I made that post 9 months ago. Jesus christ.

Rupture Farms 10-07-2007 02:32 AM

Another thing that I forgot to mention about Futurama, is that it's very timeless. I was watching an episode on TV the other day and the animation...the jokes...it just seemed like it was made just last year, when it was actually made over 5 years ago.

The Simpsons have shown that they can do this too, but not as well as Futurama.
In humour, The Simpsons wins. In animation and style, Futurama. Easily. I need not explain why, just watch the show.

Another unique aspect of Futurama is that it's never really....sucked. Per se..
I mean, it was never the best show, but there was also never a time where I would just stop watching it was so bad (this has happened numerous times with The Simpsons).

Are you in annoyed of it, Hobo?

Hobo 10-07-2007 03:09 AM

I seriously have no idea what you're trying to say abe is now!

Rupture Farms 10-07-2007 04:08 AM

I'm not sure what he was trying to say, but it might of been similar to what I was trying to say.

AlienMagi 10-07-2007 04:15 AM

I think abe is now! said 'Is it annoyng you Hobo?'

Rupture Farms 10-07-2007 04:25 AM

Yeah, he wrote, "Are you annoyed of it?". He must mean, "Are you annoyed at it?".

Hobo 10-07-2007 04:48 AM

That still makes no sense. Anyway. Ontopic or infractions for all. Huzzah!

Rupture Farms 10-07-2007 05:00 AM

I'm surprised you haven't locked this one yet, Hobo!

OANST 10-07-2007 10:53 AM

It's locked in the deepest darkest chasm of his heart. It's a truly beautiful place. You should go some time. But be careful. The unicorns bite.

Rupture Farms 10-07-2007 05:50 PM

They do indeed.

Hobo 10-08-2007 12:45 AM

They're making a straight to DVD film of futurama.

mudling 10-08-2007 05:46 PM

Realy? I would see it suppose, hopefully it only goes for half an hour, lol.
Well after the simpsons movie, my expectations aren't that high.

Rupture Farms 10-08-2007 06:31 PM

Yeah, "Bender's Big Score".

Seeing as the show's been cancelled for about 4 years, from the trailer I saw, it seems like the show's lost it's touch. But who knows, the trailer might of been assembled badly.

Nate 10-08-2007 07:06 PM

I heard they were making new episodes as well. I figured that the film was to promote the new series.

Me too, but no. The "new" episodes in question, are just the four Direct-to-DVD Futurama movies, split up into four episodes each movie. (12 episodes).

Apparently they're making 3 or 4 feature length ones and then cutting them up into episodes

Rupture Farms 10-09-2007 04:35 AM

...Which is what I said, 7 and a half hours ago..

Hobo 10-10-2007 08:14 AM

Yeah, but i tend to ignore your posts when I read threads

Mac Sirloin 10-10-2007 01:34 PM

Stop that, you infantile buttheads.

I have to say, did the name 'Bender' ever make you Britland folk question the shows, I dunno, integrity?

Hobo 10-10-2007 02:09 PM

What integrity?

Bullet Magnet 10-10-2007 03:03 PM

Not really, since he very quickly explained, "I could bend a girder to any angle. Thirty degrees, thirty-two degrees, you name it. Thirty-one..."

It does add a little extra chuckle-factor, but it's not exactly focal.

Hobo 10-10-2007 03:39 PM

Is Bender not slang over the atlantic then? It is some good fun swearing.
