I think he meant adding FMVs of your own during the gameplay.

My point of view of what it would look like :) http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1171223883 |
Haha. that’s nifty, SligStorm. :D I really wouldn’t mind one of those.
|
Maybe we could buy one from an OWI staff member? :p
|
Which would only be highly illegal if they were to give it to us. Besides, you think the programmers have their former employer's source code sitting on a disk on their desk?
|
lol, I truely doubt they have an graphic interface to create those levels :p

Honestly no, I think it's all code that has been typed or made with some tools but I don't think there is any graphic interface like that.
On the other hand I'm not a game developper :p |

Wow, I wished for a lot of things in AO and AE. First of all, I wish in AE the normal Glukkons just didn't wear green suits. I wish AE was a little more challenging, cuz now that I beat it once I can beat it without any problems. But I always get stuck in AO. I wish AE also had that same feeling as AO (you guys were talking about it earlier), like in the Scrab and Paramite nests in AO, I would be pretty much shaking after I finished them. I was kinda like that all through AO...

@alf_shall_rise
i feel ya, brother! i know exactly what your talking about. i played AO when it came out at the age of 7, and the game gave me shivers untill i became a teenager. by then, id beaten it too many times for it to really give me that feeling anymore.. i dont think AE was too easy though.. in all honesty, i think its harder. the secrets definitly can be, anyway. some of them are just plain brutal in ways that AO couldnt quite match.. though AO had some painfully challenging parts as well.. once youve beaten the games enough times, theyr both ridiculously easy, really.. after a while, you learn the behaviour patterns of all the enemies in the game, and remember what to do in every area perfectly the first time. even though ive done all that, i still cant seem to beat either game without dieing though.. once i get my ps2 back, ill have to try that again xD |
I hated finishing AE, I was enjoying it so much. I feel really gutted when you get to the places like Slig Barracks, all the Scrab and Paramite chases end!
|
lol I agree Jordan, I loved the scrab and paramite areas. I got stuck up to Mudanchee Vaults for a year when I was just a wee little boy, lol, and now that I finished it I'm so sad. *sobs*
Edit: i just thought of two ideas. one is for both AO and AE, and one is just for AE. The one for AE is that you should be able to possess Greeters. I mean, Abe controlled bells, he should be able to control another thing that isn't living. Now, the idea for both of the games is that when sligs shoot at you when they're far away, they should be able to shoot at you when YOU are far away. (example: you're far away and a slig isnt, the slig will shoot at you) it might sound confusing...maybe i can find a screenshot and make some pointers... |
If by ‘far away’ you mean ‘in the background’, I’m sure everyone understands what you mean. The only trouble with that is that to hide from their gunfire, Abe would have to be behind an object, and the player wouldn’t be able to see his precise location.
|
I hate background Sligs, they always get you... :fuzemb: But I love being one!
|
I don't that much. While in the background, there's always limited things to do...
