Exactly.
Spirrow, Microsoft did not barge in, it saw a business opportunity, and decided to make something of it. Thats Capitalism, provide goods and services IN EXCHANGE FOR MONEY. End of story. |
Furthermore, if there isn't any competition, prices would go up, since one company has a monopoly on goods, and can sell them at high prices. With competition, they're forced to lower the prices of their goods.

PS3 is cool but I would never pay $600 for it I would pay like $350 maybe $400 because it has like a $1000 Blu-ray player built in I'll wait for either the price to go down or PS2 quality games right now the PS3 isn't very desirable plus I don't want to get stuck with a first gen PS3 lemon like I essentially did with my first gen PS2
but bah the important thing is Gundam: crossfire I waste a bottle of lube every time I look at it |
Dude, do you ever use punctuation?
|
Punctuation marks are for limp-wristed nancy boys who spend most of their time being "just friends" with girls.
|
Apparently not, since I use punctuation and I have a girlfriend :p
|
Ditto. Except replace Snuzi with Ghost. :p
|
Although, looking at the two most obsessive punctuationists on this forum, you may have a point...

Well put, used.

Online translaters ftw! |
Lol, I guess you asked "What's it mean?"
What it means? Retardus Coitus? |
Ja.
Or just what you meant in that comment. |

God, almighty. Do even you believe the things you say? |

I'm planning to mooch off my stupid friends who got a PS3 and play it at their house. Same thing with the Wii. And I have no doubt they're doing that to me :D.
Why buy different consoles when you can just spend the night at a friend who has it's house? Anyways, I've got a 360. I don't really need any thing else, since I've got plenty of XLive games to play (Halo 2, etc.) And Microsoft was much smarter. It looks better and comes with more stuff, and is more reliable than the PS3, plus it's almost $200 less! Not to mention they made a bunch of consoles, so I wasn't risking my life or time getting one. |
I'll reitterate a few sentiments:
a) PS3 blows balls at the moment. and b) Competition is one of the driving factors of a better product market. Welcome to to a basic aspect of economics. Though I don't feel it necessary to throw out an actual argument in regards to the whole "Microsoft butting in," it's too irresistable to pass up. Let's assume for a minute that companies pass up legitimate business oppurtunities when the moment arises. First off, the NES never would've been created, and thusly, Nintendo never would've risen as a gaming giant. Second off, the Playstation never would've been created, and thusly, Sony never would've risen as a gaming giant. lolz. Let's take a look back on things to remind ourselves what happens when cocky businessmen get complacent: the Atari Jaguar and Sega Saturn. Funny it is, what happened to their market shares. PS: Wasn't the PS launched at $300? $500 seems unreasonably high, even for the time. |
I dunno. Competetion looks fierce now. The Wii, despite it's awsome innovative form of gaming, has its blind spots. I think I've read somewhere that gamers have had a tendency to let their Wiimote slip out of their hand and bust their television screen. There's a marketing scheme if I ever saw one, lawlz. Also also little things like the faulty wrist bands gving you a shock here and there.

Ooh, sounds exciting!

Well...
The moon is made of cheese, and everynight the man on the moon eats a bit of the cheese. But it grows back after about a month. There, I said it. I don't believe it tough... |
Hmm......I wonder if Sony is bribing the strap-manufacturers...
And Jesus is a lobster-monkey. See? I said it but I don't believe it....but he WAS a false prophet! Hail Cthulhu! |
You guys just maade the lamest replies. That's you talking. I don't
talk like that. So your really making fools of yourselves. |
God, you suck. That's all. I think I've already said everything else.
|
Hate my guts all you want you little asswipe, but you don't
intimidate me in any way. |
Honestly, you two need to stop this pointless bickering. You're acting like children. What will exchanging insults over the insult achieve, besides adding to your furstration? Let it go, already.
Normally, I would stay out of these confrontations, but this is getting ridiculous. |
Hey, you're not us here having a silent war over the quiet months
and then flaming each other in our threads because we hate the other's guts, Snuzi. |
Spirrow is a 9 year old child who just saw Kill Bill on TV and now wants a katana. Your mother say's no and you're trying to argue that you having a katana is a plasuible thing.
The point you've been trying to maker here as is about as sensible as that ^ >.> <.< analogy ftw! |

And I'm sorry, but that's just a pathethic waste of time. |

Calm.
Anyway, I've yet to see anything on or about the PS3 that would ever warrant me paying $600 for one. Even the supposedly "decent" Resistance: Fall of Man has failed to arouse my interest. I do hear talk about some dragon game called Lair, or something, which sounds like it could have potential. Still, just not enough. |
Probably misspelled... I think it should say Liar. Like Sony.
|
PS3 had major glitches. It's release...docked, once again Sony fails to suprise me.
It looks good. Might make a good footrest when playing Gears Of War ;) |
Anyone look at the Holiday sales? PS3 was dead last, with only 750,000 units in the US. Not to mention, demand seems to be going down. Maybe the fanboys have sense now. I had the chance to get a 60GB PS3 the other day, at 3 in the afternoon.
|
It's...out already? Why isn't there much talk on it? Or maybe have I been sleeping or just don't read OPM?
|
Duh, and it HAS been out for awhile.
The Launch Titles suck, and the only good one is a Halo-clone. |
