You can't help thinking that because that just the way it is.

I don't understand, I think its bullshit. We've known about the potential for a liquid explosive attack for over a decade(Clinton, 95, Continental plot against wheels, I believe). So now tens if not hundreds of millions of people have to be inconvenianced every year because the terrorist equivalent of Boris and Natasha wanted to use liquid explosives? Give me a break. A deep discount airplane company needs to start up called Carefree Air. For a miniscule fee you can bring things like Gatorade, mp3 players, and toenail clippers and the like and buy duty free items and put them on the plane. All the other pussies can dump their Maybeline and put thousands of dollars in electronics and valuables in baggage and have it stolen or lost and pay full price on items.

I hate using the phrase "the terrorists". I feel like I've become part of the Bush administration.
|
[Some years before were the red star, the Russians the enemies. Now is it the half moon, the Islam. It seems the US have always trouble with the heaven.]

Bush no like teh universe!

In Communist Russia, terrorist attacks you!
Oh shit. They do anyway. But yeah, what the hell are you saying hops? |
the US having always trouble with anyone. They have always any enemie. Maybe the next will be China. I don't know.
|
Oh Christ, another anti America person. :p
I hate terrorists. Simply because they don't value human life and will not hesitate to make people, on a large scale, suffer even more. Ever since the London incident, the airways have been even more chaotic. You can't go on a plane with hardly the clothes on your back. I'm thankful I rode in a car back to Pennsylvania. Going though an airport would have been a nightmare in these times. |
Yea well the biggest terrorist is currently sitting in the white house, so I guess it's not exactly our fault we are so anti america :).
|
I'll admit our leader isn't the most intellectually or morally respectable of persons, but at least he has a somewhat higher moral standing than the suicide bombers. Yes, his actions to move into the middle east with the military was a ridiculous plan, but it's so pointless to be griping about him with the problems right now. He can't move out of Iraq or the middle east in general because he knows as soon as the U.S. leaves the terrorists will just take power again.
In Afghanistan, the Taliban have been slowly creeping back into the land because the U.S. left. Do you think Bush wants the same to happen to Iraq? He's picking the lesser of two evils with the current situation right now. Call me an asshole, but I wish some of you would think these things out a little more before you declare Bush the Lord of all Evil. :
|
Why are you assuming I do not think before I post?
Bush has the mental capacity of a monkey on XTC. He invaded a country which had nothing to do with 9/11 at all, without any grounds to do so! He ignored the UN all together bacause he wanted to play good cop bad cop with Saddam. Saddam was the main threat, he is taken care off, now leave them be. To top that, it's not up to him to choose at all. Being the president of a bankrubt country apparently gives him the right to police the world. I don't think so. Right now, Bush is a serious threat to the entire world and he should have been put out of office a long time ago. In fact, if the first elections would have been fair in the first place we wouldn't be having all this bullshit in the first place. |
:
:
I realize that our president has done a terrible job. The point is, what's done has been done and there's no going back. All of the crap he's done means bupkus to me when you think about the situation at hand. Think about it, what would do if your nation's soldiers were fighting a horrible, almost meaningless battle in an area where you know if you leave, an even worse scenario will emerge there? I hardly sympathize with Bush at all in what he has done, but how many good options do you have when you're in his position? |
He shouldn't have mixed with other countries problems in the first place. He didn't have any right to do so.
And do you realy think Bush is staying there because he sympathises with the country? This entire thing is one big set up for money and support from the American citizens. And the stupid thing is that a lot of peopel are actualy still retarded enough to believe everything they are presented with. Think about it from Europe's point of view for instance. Lets say you live in France? Bush doesn't like France! France doesn't support his plans! No more french fries for you mister! We'll call em freedom fries! In fact, Bush doesn't like France at all so why not send a small army their way and straighten those ****ers out? Bush has no respect for the UN or their orders. And that is a very scary thought for all other countries. It means that Bush has proven time and time again that he will do as he pleases. It won't be long before he will lose the support of the UK now, and then you'll she the ammount of shit we are going to get with this guy still in office. And mark my words, don't be surprised if this guy is going to change some laws so that he can run another 12 years as president instead of this being his last run. All under the explaination ofcourse, that we can not switch presidents in these hectic times. It would bring along to much hassle. Do not be surprised when this is going to happen folks. |
I know I'll sound a bit hypocritical saying this (and a bit dumb), but America's government has been corrupt in some form for the past 100 years. Okay? It's rather pointless to keep playing that card.
I see your point. I could make a long reply to your statement and keep making various comments about how America isn't Satan's empire, but I have band camp tomorrow. Fun. To your little remark on the end: I doubt that quite a bit. America's government was set up so that it can have anything but a king. Ties into the whole revolution against England kind of thing. The Congress and Senate would veto anything like that in a heartbeat. No one is going to go breaking the eight year limit. :p |
Well something tells me Bush is going to be a first. And yes, the American goverment is always known for being corrupt, but Bush is by far the worst yet.

[cough]Kyoto Agreement[/cough]

You know what I think about these claims about keeping America safe from terrorism? I think they're crap. Think about: Open ports, nuke facilities receiving failing grades for the past 5 years, public transportation like Greyhound, Amtrak, and subways ripe for the bombing, soft targets like post offices, banks, churches and synagogues, etc. I believe full that a dedicated band of 50 to a 100 people could kills hundreds, maybe even thousands of people on a weekly basis and bring the U.S. to martial law within a month. Thats how safe Bush has made us.

Bush is worse than Nixon. Doing all the things Nixon did and then some, plus ****ing the economy.
|
At first killed the (new) Americans the American Indians. They thought that country would be theirs. But it wasn't. It was the country of the Indians. But that didn't interest them. And exactly that way are the Americans going still. They think: "Oh great, there is a piece of land. Let's go!"
|
You have to realize that not all Americans believe in war as the best solution. About two halves of the country's population are divided on the issue.
And please, if you're going to make a statement about the genocide of the native tribes, you could at least include the part where Columbus forced the islanders into mines and sent some back to Europe as sex slaves, let alone not refer to them as "Indians." And if I recall correctly, didn't Spain and Great Britain and other European nations also attempt colonies in the Americas, with plenty of genocide to put the icing on the cake? EDIT: I decided to exclude the French because they actually coexisted peacefully with the natives rather than butcher them up with a guillotine. And yes, I know the guillotine came after the French colonization. |
that's right. Also colonies in africa. Our wealth is partly based on that.
// I have anyway no money for a flight-ticket. I couldn't care less if there any aircrafts falling down. As long as they don't fall on my head. |

do you think 3 halves? or maybe even 4?

Oh wait, blarg, I see what you mean. I feel dumb now. |

Hops [darn it seems like I dislike you now] but please post more than a 1 word answer. Again the post should be revelant to the thread.
For more information about posting please view this short clear video: Posting and you! - Rexy |
I was about to make sarcy comments at rexy. But then i realised she was a mod. God this place collapses when i'm not here! ;)
I feel this thread has deviated anyway. |
@Rex: these words are off topic but i have to say: I dont write for you! And I will not write what you like. Because I'm not your employee. And a forum is no encyclopedia. It's only small talk! And sometimes is one word as an answer enough. (For example by a marriage. Yes/No) And in the computer technology is anyway a short script better than a long script, because it runs faster. You should know that!
I dislike you too. But I'm not here to become loved by you. And I think you don't want to be loved by me. Why don't you give up your job here and become a normal user? You will get anyway never anything for beeing a Mod. If you want to help people you can do it also as a non-mod. |
Don't argue at Rexy over that. It's in the rules. So please follow them.
I wish I had something to say here to direct the thread back on course, but I don't really. I know that recent flights over here have been delayed like crazy. Someone from here had a flight that takes normally 2 hours turn into 5 hours. Gah, terrorism is so inconvenient. Tsk tsk. |

Linked from fark(a duh):Interesting article bringing the usefulness of x-raying shoes as a bomb detecting practice. Turns out it could just be a useless smelly hassle that doesn't accomplish anything. Buying 10s of millions of worthless scanners and turning flying into a totally awkward pain in the ass over nothing sure was worth it. |
