Pff. I wouldn't be saying, "More than ever" because you were only here a few months. Clean and safe environment? Who wants to be in a clean and safe environment? You just have to live a little.

I'm fine with the population. This is such a small forum that everyone, like, knows each other. Not literally, but metaphorically. I like it the way it is.

I was just giving a nice compliment. By the way, I've been here more than a few months as a guest.

Rex Tirano 06-27-2006 10:36 AM

I like the fact that all the moderating team knows each other and that they're alot warmer to newbies and other members. [Perhaps that's my biased opinion though.]

When I joined the admin staff weren't as nice to newbies, it was very much a case of them being better than the ordinary members. But as the staff has changed and all the mods and admins have grown up her it's changed alot.

I agree, when I first found out about the Oddworld Forums I found that the newbies were usually ignored. But that is the past now.

Auggh, you lucky dawgs all rubbing elbows with each other in Europe...and I'm stuck here in America. Uggh. Even though I was born in Europe.

SeaRex 06-27-2006 07:21 PM

I'll tell you something funny about the current state of this forum.

There seems to be a "Hey! It kinda looks like there is one or two people leaving, so I'll also leave instead of trying to contribute or doing anything useful, because that makes me look cool and creates a problem that was never there. Sweet." trend going around.

Good job, guys.

used:) 06-27-2006 09:04 PM

Good summary of my duties here, SeaRex. ;)

As I have said before, it's all gravy. Although that one remark MF made about Jamaicans was pretty crude.

Daxter King 06-27-2006 09:06 PM

Hey I contributed by creating that sock thread and most of you ingrants didn't give it a chance. I have no idea how many active users there are, but I know it is low.

used:) 06-27-2006 09:19 PM

It......was......SOCKS.

Jordan 06-28-2006 06:38 AM

I think the forum has too many people who never post, it is really frustrating me!! There have been loads of Noobs signing up too, I won't name any :p

Nate 06-28-2006 06:43 AM

Eh, who cares if they never post? Just pretend they don't exist. When they really do. And they're peering over your figurative shoulder and reading what you just wrote. I should really stop posting at 1 in the morning.

As for noobs, they always sign up. It's part of the normal forum turnover.

100 noobs sign up
50 actually post anything
20 stay longer than a week
10 stay after the ritual hazing of being sworn at and harshly criticised for making simple mistakes
5 don't get banned in the first three months
and
2 of them are not Reece Charles.

SeaRex 06-28-2006 07:05 AM

Lawlz, nate.

I posted in it. Criticism denied.

Well, I am a newbie, and I posted quite a lot in the last couple of days.

Jordan 06-28-2006 08:18 AM

Lord Vulcher, you ARE new, but you aint a noob! You don't act Noobish, you're cool! Lmao nate_dog that was funny! :D

It's quite sad how all of the actual good new members like Paris and TomFrogman have to pack up and go so quickly. It's like a sifter, the finest sand goes through and then ugly coarse rocks stay behind.

skillya_glowi 06-28-2006 03:01 PM

Ah...

Seriously, what's with this trend of leaving? We have a couple new members now and then, but rarely do they actually do anything, as implied by Nate_dog.

And, for whoever was asking, as of now there are 258 active members. Not exactly much, as compared to the multi-million communities like Gaia or MySpace.

used:) 06-28-2006 06:21 PM

MySpace is at an intelligently lower level though. Plus it's a fad. Things like that always have multi-million communities.

Yes, I seem to notice that a lot of people have started to leave, like T-Nex and Cyber-Slig

used:) 06-29-2006 11:30 AM

Wow, two is a big number.

I find that the majority of people that leave are ones that sort of just showed up, never really did much, which is fine with me because it only lightens the load.

skillya_glowi 06-29-2006 01:56 PM

True. But plenty of good members are leaving too, more than mentioned by LV.

Can people watch out for Havoc? I know he only occupies a tiny bit of the forum (in terms of 'power') but I find his overt negative bias completely ridiculous. I thought moderating was a fair-handed thing? And no, I'm not just saying this because he openly dislikes me (so do plenty of other people, I don't moan about them), but because his approach to his position is fundamentally flawed.

Plus Lord Vulcher... can a moderator just PM him and kinda set things straight. (Not necessarily a warning, because he doesn't mean anything bad.) Otherwise people like me just moan and rant.

I agree with you, I've only been here for around a week and he has been, well, not very nice to me.

Havoc 07-02-2006 05:19 AM

Oh yay! My name has been mentioned! By my two favorite forum members too! *HUGS YOU BOTH!*

Hm... Okay.

Look guys, I'm an overal nice guy. I'm nice to everyone who deserves it. I am not nice to morons, retards, stupid people, asshats and all those kind of people. Lord Clutcher here fits in one of the first three, since he apparently finds it hard to follow orders from moderators when he's told (in a normal friendly way) to stop posting bullshit everywhere. This was asked of him about 5 times by my fellow staff members. When that didn't work, I tried asking him on a normal way, and that still didn't work, so now I labeled him 'moron'. And everyone knows what happens when I lable someone in a negative way.
As for MF, your just an asshat and everything linked to that. The most anoying person on the forums at this time, not to mention you are just pissing me off and now you're taking the fall for it. Simple as that.
I am never unfairly an asshole to someone, and if I was for some reason I make an apology about it. But since I have plenty of reason to pick on you two, you can forget about that.
Any other complaints about me?

Yes, I am not the only one doing that, used:) for example. And I'd like it if you gave me a chance. I have only been here a week!

Havoc 07-02-2006 07:34 AM

Maybe if you started listening to the advice we give you, I might reconcider. And don't try to pin things on other members. If we tell Used to do or don't do something, he listnens... most the time.

Good. So it's settled then. I apoligise Havoc and used.

used:) 07-02-2006 07:36 AM

Either way, we've been on this forum much longer than you LV, it should be you who has to adapt, not us.

And your point is?

Either way, this is becoming a case of back and forth shooting. I take my leave as my point has been made, and I still await a good counter statement.

Rich 07-02-2006 10:40 AM

I await you shutting the hell up and following the rules you so wish LV to follow.
