Hmm... let me see:

Did it work this time?

That is pretty impressive creatures...surely they would look less scary and certainly would bring a whole different genre in fighting/adventure. :p

Bullet Magnet 04-12-2006 03:45 AM

Ah, yes that's where I heard it. It's also a type of drum music, and apparently, a fan-created Oddworld creature. If anyone comes up with a better name for my Kodo, let me know.

This is a colour-comp for a rangabie:

Dark Elite_H2 04-12-2006 04:06 AM

Yeh, I'll give yeh the URL, not the full-size.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rl/Knifal2.jpg
This one would be the Knifal

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...l/scan0011.jpg
The Hunter

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...l/scan0010.jpg
Swamp guardian

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...l/spics004.jpg
And lastly, Ezum.

People usually look at me weirdly at school fer makin' such weird and scary creatures.
But 'ey. I''m proud o' 'em, and so should you guys be proud 'o yer creations.

Bullet Magnet 04-12-2006 04:45 AM

Ooh, nice. A definite reptillian vibe there. I like 'em, specially the swamp guardian.

Marco the Glukkon 04-12-2006 07:28 AM

I work on some incarnations of new creatures, but I also create my own enviroments too. Theres one I made where there's a large circle in the middle of the floor which seems to be suspended over a bottomless pit. On that circle-like platform a slig and operate a lever that regulates the blades. There are four walkways coming from that circle, makking it look like a compass. On these walkways, there are platforms where scrubs can work and clean. Diagonally from the circle there are huge blads that criss cross each other. Above there are hooks that move like a conveyor belt along inot another room or they drop into the meat grinding blades. On a wall, there is a huge window where Sligs can look and operate. Below the pits, there are vents that are large enough for someone to walk through there. It's basically a big meat-processing room.

Slaveless 04-14-2006 05:07 PM

Hm, Dark Elite_H2 your guys remind me of Neopets. It's just they're, well, I don't know. I might give you guys a picture of a drat later.

Dark Elite_H2 04-15-2006 12:25 PM

W-what!?
Neo-pets!?
I'm sorry, I just had to laugh.
My creatures aren't anything near "cute", they're terrible creatures, unlike the Knifal and Ezum.
But NEO=pets?
 BWAHAHAHAHA!!
:ahem: I'm done.

Bullet Magnet 04-15-2006 01:19 PM

I'm sorry, the creature closest to "cute" in my book are scrabs and paramites. And you know see exactly the kind of person I am.

Dark Elite_H2 04-15-2006 02:49 PM

Well, ya know what I think are cute?
Covenant Elites.
:nods:
Now you see what type of person I am.

Bullet Magnet 04-15-2006 02:53 PM

I like them too, but they're males, it's harder to maintain an attraction to them. ;)

Crazywolf 04-15-2006 02:54 PM

I think the Flood pods are cute, even though they try to kill all of life in the univise :D

Ugh...I'm-a retire to the restroom and the toilet bowl fer some quality time to meself and my stomach...

Crazywolf 04-15-2006 04:33 PM

Well i think Zugzs are cool, and Flood are cute... Why would they call me Crazywolf? :P

Dark Elite_H2 04-15-2006 04:36 PM

:

...I can think of a couple reasons...
1) You made up the name ;)

2) Just 'cause yer called "crazy" doesn't mean yer actually crazy

3)...That's just plain creepy what you said...

used:) 04-15-2006 04:42 PM

Thats a cool creature, Bullet Magnet. Every time I see things like that I cut myself and then dip my head in battery acid from the grief of not thinking of the design before.

To MM: THANKYOU! I was going for a robe like feeling when I drew the suit to be priest like. I wanted to use the Gloktigi like head for that creature, but I felt that would look unoriginal.

Crazywolf 04-15-2006 04:43 PM

Ok... Sorry Dark for creeping ya out.. ((BTW, like your Fan fic! :) ))

I feel so special. :)

I've recently created a couple more creatures, one I call Squorms (Dunno whether to pronounce it Squirms or Skw-orms). They're a few inches long, pinkish green, wormlike. They have circular, small toothed mouths at one end, and a single, tiny, black eye. Small bottle-green scales cover their backs, and they have 10 pairs of little legs (I therefore classify them as decapedes.)
Another species is my first sentient Oddworld creation. I've not got a name for them yet, but they've got Vykker-ish heads, althuogh the top goes into 2 long bulbous lumps, kinda like two Vykker foreheads stuck together. The head however is medium sized at the jaw, then goes thinner at the eye area, then goes out when we come to the dual forehead. They have slitlike, catlike eyes, normally yellow or red, and have tiny round mouths. They've got 2 spindly, bony arms ending in 4 long, sharp, bony fingers, and their build is weird, their upper chest are fairly wide, yet again bony (Ribs showing etc.), while their stomachs are narrow. They have 4 legs, 1 left, 1 right, 1 front, 1 back. They wear black waistcoats, shoes and a loincloth/shorts time garment on their legs. They sometimes have spectacles. Their skin is a pallid fleshy greyish colour. They work as lawyers, bureaucrats and stockbrokers.
I wish my scanner was working, then I could show you my drawings of them all.

Bullet Magnet 04-23-2006 03:48 AM

Here's another of mine... Say hello to the flying Vox!

For those who think their cute- don't get too attatched, they're industrialists.
Aerial creatures that fly very badly but are effective gliders, they are often employed by Vykkers and other owners of large airship vessels, as they can perform in-flight repairs. In battle they like to wield small firearms in each hand, like pistols, lungbuster guns or snuzipults. They are born from queens, but there are both sterile male and female workers in the population.

There is a deffinite slig-inspired feel about this design. Notice the reflections on the flight-goggles. They took ages.

And for the more childish amoung you, that is a tail, not some other kind of appendage. ;)

Munch's Master 04-23-2006 04:25 AM

I like 'em. I wouldn't say they're cute, but they are definitely Oddworldy. Good creation Bullet.

Bullet Magnet 04-23-2006 07:02 AM

I test-downloaded my Vox pic, and it was too wide to render fully. I don't know if it's like this for anyone else, but I'll post a smaller one just in case.

This is what I said the prehistoric Paramite would look like;
It would support itself on its toothy-like whips as legs, and have a stinger like a scorpion.

Bullet Magnet 04-23-2006 08:13 AM

That.
Is.
Freakin'.
AWESOME!

I love it! Wow!

Dancing Steef 04-26-2006 12:15 AM

Hi, guys!

Remember the Wolclark I said I'd send in a picture of? Well here he is: Nerdie the Wolclark!

The differense between this guy and Wolvarks is that Wolclarks has a more greyish skin tone and they are some sort of rednecks - like the Clakkerz.

When I first drew this character then I wanted to really show the differense, so instead of giving the creature the same clothes as the Wolvarks, I choosed to use the same type of clothes as Fatty McBoomBoom - ya can see the shirt's too tight for this fellow :p- and instead of a peaked cap his got a beret.

Dark Elite_H2 04-26-2006 03:26 AM

That's pretty good, DS!
I posted my Scamper in 'ere wrong.
Should'a been in the prehistoric thread...
Whoopsie.

gobbo 04-30-2006 12:59 PM

i disigned a creature for the scrabanian deserts. if you would compare scrabs to lions, they would be the gazellas. ill post a picture after a learned how. i named them screlms.

Teal 04-30-2006 02:36 PM

Well, I USED to - haven't had the time or drive to very much lately, although I drew up a big old page of images to go on profiles on my website. These days I design beasties to go into my own universe - I suppose some of them would be vaguely odd-inspired (for instance, DuPhee are like a cross between a cuttlefish and a dog, and naturally have been dubbed "Cuttlepuppies").

Here's some of them, anyway - some belong to a friend of mine, some are mine.
Oddworld fanbeasties
Clockwise from top left: polar drakkic, ant bird, plains drakkic, celernex, "leech" (never got a proper name), (bottom right doesn't count as it's a genetic hybrid), shaggy elum, forest drakkic, honeypot termite, and a seeyete. I'm working on another page of doodles, but a number of the creatures (like the lamprile, a sentient creature with a froglike build, and a trunk with teeth like a lamprey) have been "de-Odded" and gone into one of my own worlds.

Bullet Magnet 05-01-2006 06:19 AM

They're actually really good. I particularly like the scaly one in the middle.

gobbo 05-01-2006 12:21 PM

if it works, thats the one. thats the screlm.
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g5.../screlmbio.jpg
on this picture its easyer to see what the legs, head and body is.

Dancing Steef 05-02-2006 12:49 AM

That's an intressting creature Gobbo... Screlm hehe nice:D here's another made-up species I've made: the Toicer - the protectors of the Legendaries.

The history of Toicers and Legendaries

Once, these Toicers lived among the Legendary people and protected them from any evil in the world. The typical enimies here are the Wolclarks.

The battle between Toicers and Wolclarks ended and the protectors won. Many years past and no threat had come since the battle's end.

Then the Toicers decided to leave the Legendaries, because they believed that the enimies wouldn't return.

But it didn't take a long time before the threat came upon the people - luckily the Legendaries succeded to escape - though a few of them got killed on the way to safety.

After the esacape and some searching for a new home, they finaly got an idea - to live high up in the trees, be awaken at nights and asleep at days. They also decided, now when the Toicers had left them on their own, to make weapons - from blowpipes to giant spears - to protect themselves.

Because they wanted to be sure of, that no one tried to steal their territories
again. And the consequence of that were much more strict rules and laws to obey.

I decided to move my awesome species over here to show off.

Gratogon - Giant lizard species, somewhat like grubbs except more warlike. Has a mouth full of sharp, pointy teeth. They have a tendency to eat meat and are considered a native species, all though they are very evil. They usually tattoo themselves all over their body whenever they come of age, and have few allies, but many enemies.

Minion Sneaker - a new type of outlaw, this minion is very sneaky and they usually attack someone in groups. They typically wear short, red and black hats, that are maybe 3 or 4 inches high. they typically look like a shooter, except they have darker skin, small beaty eyes, and use knives to throw and stab with, and sometimes use small pistols.

Borokan - They are a very big people, which stand at a range from 6 to 9 feet. They use giant rocks as weapons, and of course there huge fists. Their eyes are diffrent sizes and colors, and they wear scraps of metal, cloth, and even leaves all over there body as armor. They are great for suicide bombers as they can carry around huge bombs in there hands and can take heavy damage.

Gas Mask Minion - These outlaws have a tendency to to use poison bombs and guns that spray out acid and things of the like to attack with, and wear a huge gas mask over there face. They have better clothing then most outlaws, and are considered elite amongst the outlaws.

Tell me what you think. (My personal favs. are the Gas Mask and sneaker minion)
