And even then the answer will probably be no. I've only ever seen one person manage to change their name (not including people who arrived and immediately regretted the name they chose).

Coolmanbizkit 01-19-2006 10:47 AM

My names about 4 years old... I really, Really hate it. I would try and get it changed, But it wouldn't work. :p I wouldn't know who to ask anyway.

Edit: I have this name because i used to use it all the time.

:

Actually there is a way to change your forum name. You gotta (I think) have been a registered member for one whole year then you pm one of the mods or admins for a name change.

And that's exactly why I can't change. I got banned, and the rules stated that banned users can't get a title or their name changed. That's why it's a "privilage"

Splat 01-23-2006 01:01 PM

Before I joined OWF, in fact before I got the internet, I created a character who now stars in his own story in Fancorner!

While I originally decided all mudokons have human names (a rule I usually stick to) when I first heard about Munch's Oddysee I thought Munch would be a mudokon and thought if that guy could have a strange name so could my character, hence Splat. By the time i discovered Munch wasn't a mudokon the name had stuck ,and when I joined OWF it seemed a reasonable choice to make.

Shortly afterwards I realised I'd been extraordinarily lucky in getting that particular name and when someone called me Talps here I thought it sounded much better and more unusual and I've adopted it basically everywhere I can. I thought about requesting to get my name here changed to Talps, but decided it would make it too confusing for anyone looking back. So Splat I am, and frankly I'm happy with it. I seem to be the only one!

T-nex, your name's cool! personally I'm happy with all the names here cus it's how we know each other: change em and we'll all end up wandering around the streets with vacant looks trying to remember the names of our parents, siblings, children, friends, pets and mortal nemesises (gah, what a word!).

T-nex 01-24-2006 12:58 AM

Aaw ur so cute Splat... nice story by the way :) And i think your name is cool. To be honest i like Splat more then Talps, but Talps is funny too ^_^
I've always liked your name cos it's... Dunno... so different and still it's familiar. Really cute :D

Havoc 01-24-2006 01:27 AM

Yea, Splat is much better if you ask me :D.

Dancing Steef 01-27-2006 03:09 AM

It's simple; I kinda like ABBA's song "Dancing Queen" and I LOVE the Steef species so I mixed the names and got Dancing Steef

*mental images of someone tryin' to teach Stranger the tango*

o.O

.........scary..........

Anyway, movin' on. I've always been Lobo Diablo Lone Wolf, it's my online author name and to be completely honest I wouldn't change it. I likes my name. :D

Steefie 01-28-2006 11:14 PM

I choose the name Steefie 'cause that's the name of my Oddworld fan character... and she's a Steef. I like Steefs.

But why I chose 'Steefie' as the name for a female Steef:
1. It sounded like "Steevie", the name of a cow-girl-go-famer on TV (from Mc Leod's Daughters)
2. It sounded... feminine O_0
3. It also sounds somewhat corny, in a way... a bit like calling a cat 'Kitty'.
4. I hadn't a clue what sort of names Steefs really do have, since Stranger hasn't spilled the beans on his real identity, so... yeah...
5. It was just simple. I like simple.
6. Other than the above, I really don't know why I called her Steefie and hence ended up using it as my forum name thereafter.

Fuzzle Guy 01-29-2006 01:54 AM

Mine is Pretty Obvious, I don't go wondering around the Celtx Forums by the name of Fuzzle Guy.

I chose it because Fuzzles are my favourite Oddworld creature.

Annouka-BadCat 02-09-2006 09:33 AM

Phwee, its a bit of a long story. But to cut it short, I WAS kila-the-dragon, but I changed it to Annouka because I was bored, basically. I wish I could change all my usernames because I have kind of outgrown Kila. Now, where Annouka came from -
Annouka was originally the name of a character I made up for a story for English class way back when I was in first year at high school. She was originally just a girl in a story, but she morphed into a shape-shifter who could turn into a cat a little later for RP but I never used her.
Now, Annouka is still a character of mine for another story I'm writing, and is a polymorph who can change into the form of any other organic being she has came into contact with (and the idea for 'polymorph' came from the TV show Red Dwarf).
And Bad Cat? From a t-shirt I have with a rather evil looking cat on it. I thought it was a good nickname for her, since she could originally only become a cat.

Fuzzleman54321 02-09-2006 10:10 AM

I was thinking oddworld names when i dicovered my favourite Wildlife Creature was Fuzzle's. I liked numbers, so i put 54321, and thats how i ended up with my username.

Dino 02-09-2006 10:56 AM

I chose mine because that was my nickname in my hyperactive weed smoking days. I have since discovered the wonders of medication, god bless pharmaceutical chemistry!

HobbitNinj 02-11-2006 08:42 PM

My name was actually suppose to be HobbitNinja but I forgot the "a". My name is a typo :p . NE who, a while back I was trying to create a good screen name for AMV.org and I decided to combine my two favorite fandoms at the time- The ninja turtles and lord of the rings. Thus, a very chessy screen name was born...

outlaw king 02-11-2006 09:27 PM

I changed my name to outlaw king , cos out of all oddworld creatures , outlaws are my favourite. Plus ive cought every outlaw alive , therefor I AM DOMINANT TO ALL OUTLAWS!! mwa ha haaaaaaaaaaa!

sorry bout that.

Slig outlaw 02-11-2006 10:42 PM

Amen boss.

dripik 02-12-2006 12:30 AM

I guess it's obvious where my nickname comes from. I was a fan of General Dripik when I joined the Forums. I'm still a fan of him, but at least I stopped watching all the FMV's he had part in all the time.

...These cheap usernames I create...

Slaveless 02-12-2006 05:40 AM

For me, it's kind of obivous. I loved the glukkons (Or at least being one) and if I was one, I would be slaveless. It kind of made itself a username, so slaveless was born.
*sigh* Man, I'm boring.
