Have we even been told if the RE5 trailer is real time or not? I don't want another Killzone 2 fiasco...
I'll buy an X360 for TESIV anyway, but RE5 would be nice. |
:
Besides, I doubt it will look much worse. The Resident Evil series has always had a great production value in the graphics department. |
We need a thread for the PC gamers. Just occured to me. :|
Is it just me or are PC gamers somehow really unpopular? |
:
Most people, such as myself, don't have to cash to upgrade their comps. It leaves a smaller, yet more elite, group of gamers who are able to call themselves PC gamers. That's how I've always seen it, at least. I'm lucky to be able to run Unreal Tournament 2004 on my personal computer. My family computer can barely run MS Paint. XD |
360 for me, Sony is just cheap. They copied Xbox Live for Christ sake!
|

Yae, hijacking my own thread. :
|
Yeah, they shouldn't have any problem producing the graphics displayed in the trailer.

Holy crap, that RE5 graphic is stunning.
It's always disappointed me that I can't play Resident Evil because of the terrible controls. |
I hope they provide a bit of Chris' back story. I really want to know what's been happening to him since the first game. Why he went missing and such. And also, if Claire's been successful in finding him.
|
:
Seriously, they totally revamped the camera and aiming system, and it actually makes the controls playable. And with GameCubes costing just about as much as a plastic spatula these days, what excuse do you have? |
:
I have no problems with admitting that they're an elite. Because they are. These days you have to be, because computer systems are required to be so much more powerful to play the games that are being pumped out by the PC gaming industry. I'm a PC gamer and I could be called part of the elite, because I do have a pretty beefed up system. But when it comes to console games most of you guys could just walk all over me cause I'm pretty useless at them. I reckon that the industry might well move in the direction of console-PC compatability. Allowing the addition of user created/modified content, and all sorts of fancy stuff, to the world of console gaming. It's a hell of a broad horizon and I hope that Microsoft explores it with their Xbox series, because they're probably the best suited for that kind of thing. |
I'm a PC gamer and a console gamer. I bought a new PC somewhat recently. It plays Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 nicely. I'm not what you would call rich, I saved up and worked hard to buy it. I do, however agree that the majority of these people are wealthy, hardcore gamers. Nonetheless, I prefer the console over the PC because they're easier to pick up and play.
|
Thats true, I like the PC alot because it is practically the signature platform for Strategies. And it has it's own versions of the best RPG's like KOTOR and Morrowind.
|
:
I may eventually get one though. Just like I may eventually get the used Nintendo 64 that's in the record store down the road with Goldeneye and Super Mario 64. They're my two favourite games! But it's $60NZ! |
Where's the option for PC? ¬_¬
I know it's not a console but the way things are at the minute in terms of hardware you could blow those consoles out of the water. |

U AL SHT YO BEEKS Oh yeah, I forgot one of the other reasons I shall get an XBox360... Quake IV! In fact... Everything IV! |
I'm not so sure about Quake IV. I think I've had my fill of "mutant hunting in a claustrophobic industrial setting" with Doom III.
However, that other Quake game looks good... Quake Wars or whatever. Unless it's an RTS and all I've been seeing of the game are FMV shots. Anyone have any info on it? Gameplay? Release date? |
...there is another Quake Game? OGM1!~`!

Sorry to revive a 2 month old thread but I saw no point in starting another one only to be told it could have gone in here.
So, has anyone pre-ordered their Xbox 360 yet? The only reason I'm asking really is because I have and I simply want to show off :D. Plus I want to know who else is actually getting one :). |
I've pre-ordered and paid for my Xbox360 and copy of Oblivion. All I have to do is pay for the tax on the Xbox360 (probably around $40) when I get there and its mine.
You know, I still haven't heard if you need to buy a battery and a charger for the wireless controller. I mean, I assume that it comes with one battery and can be charged through the cord on the XB360, but you never know... Aww... poor Nintendo hasn't got any votes... |
Oh sweet Jeebus, the Nintendo Revoloution controller sucks major anus. It's a remote and a joystick. Sometimes Nintendo are a little too edgy...
No ****ing way am I preordering a EckzBockz36-y if you can only preorder the bundles, and that's what I've been told. So I'll have to rush in first day and pray there's one there. |
You don't have to pre-order the bundles, you can get the Core or Premium package bundle-free, I'm quite sure. I'll be getting the Premium, no dizz-oubt.
And yes, Revolution controller is teh SuX. Reminds me of Dreamcast. *shudder* |
Any day before the other day, I would've said Xbox 360.
Now I know what the Revolution's controller is, and I want it sooo much. It's ****ing awesome. A lot of people don't realise the potential of their controller... well, it's ****ing awesome, and worthy of the name, Revolution, as well as, indeed, Awesome Controller Console. Nindendo all the way. |
<3 Nintendo to the maxx!!1 But I realy think this is a little bit too different... It's a remote with an 'A' button, and a joystick. Seems more like a first person DVD player to me.
<3 DS, GBA, SNES and nearly every other Nintendo console. :
|
The graphics on the PS3 and Xbox 360 are going to be pretty much the same.
|
:
... In, um, not-bragging land. |
I don't know about you guys...but I'm decided good and proper. MGS4: Guns of the patriots is coming to PS3 and it's going to fecking rock! :D
I'm off to play MGS3 again... :D |
Seeing as MGS2: Substance was released on Xbox, I'm hoping MGS4 ends up released on Xbox360. Otherwise I will deprived of another MGS.
But then again, MGS3 was nowhere to be seen on Xbox :(. I've just seen the MGS4 trailer and although I bet none of it is gameplay graphics, it kicks ass. The link's below if anyone wants to see it. http://www.konami.jp/gs/kojima_pro/m...s2005_mgs4.asx It seems the cigarette smoking is catching up with him. He seems pretty knackered now. |
:
EDIT: Saying that it looks like something is helping him get over it, an injection of some sort. It's also strange to see Snake using a knife, he specifically says in MGS2 that he's not a fan of blades. It all seems very... Big Boss. |

The Tokyo Game Show showed off some actual gameplay of the PS3 and it is amazing. Kind of makes me nervous for Xbox360. For the most part the Xbox360 games look great...but I was looking at a demo for the beta version of Gears of War, which they say is taking adavantage of full Xbox360 power, and the framerate sucks. It is not smooth at all.
As for the revolution controller, I would really have to hold it in my hands to see if we would get along. From looking I'm a bit skeptical...but Nintendo isn't stupid. I'm sure they focus-group tested the heck out of that thing to make sure it feels right. Still, I have to see for myself. -oddguy |
MGS4 looks insane! I would wet my pants if it was coming to Xbox 360, but I'm sure Sony has cemented the game on the PS3.
I'm even more excited about Gears of War, I just saw some new footage of it, and it looked so much better then I remembered it. Cliffy B. said the frame rate would be great, and that's all I need. |
:
I guess I shouldn't judge it before playing with it, as I did with the DS and now I <3 the DS. MGS4 looks awesomeness. But much like Godless, I haven't played MGS3 due to it not being on Xbox. Though Snake is showing his age a little, erm, badly. Nice tash. |
The reason MGS3 didn't come to Xbox was because the engine was coded specifically for the PS2. I'm also looking forward to MGS3: Subsistence for PS2, a 3 disc set which includes the game, the game extension (iirc) and probably a VR missions disc.
Sorted :D |
Gears of War is looking like it's gonna be effin' boss-ass. I was skeptical at first, but after seeing how well the "dodge and cover" mechanism has been implemented... I don't know. I'm just really looking forward to this game again.
The Revolution controller has so many possibilities... flashlight! Use the joystick as a realistically moving flashlight. Would totally make for some killer Survival Horror games. I admit, I don't like how the "DVD/Joystick" controller looks, but the possibilities for it are seemingly endless. They should change the title of the new Metal Gear game to MGS4: Snake Is Finally Fucking Old or MGS4: He's Not Big Boss, We Swear! |
