You do realize that atheism is the disbelief in God/gods and not the disbelief in Santa, right?
Indeed. Santa is a god, though.
Children believe in him. He is magic, they pray/send letters to him to get things, they give offerings to him on Xmas eve. He is a god. And about as real as Odin.

Funny but true. As children pray to Santa at Crimbo rather than Jesus or God it shows how Christmas stands for very little in Christianity today.

Joke's on them. Christians are all celebrating a pagan festival at christmas.

And there are children on this forum, that are younger than ten! I hope your happy, you may have just spoilt some poor childs Christmas!

No, because Christians celebrating Christmas tend to celebrate Christmas for it's true meaning- the birth of Jesus. But I get what your saying if you know what I mean ;)

The true meaning is NOT christian.

But whatever makes you happy.

Of course it is you silly bugger. "CHRIST"mas.

No it's not. Christmas is a PAGAN festival, which has been assimilated by the Christian faith, by means of creating a new festival on the same day as the Pagan one.

Easter is another Pagan festival which has been assimilated by the Christians/borgs.

Smell 12-19-2004 05:26 AM

Ah well, whatever flicks your switch

Factual information which isn't buggered up the curry hole is what flicks my switch.

Anyway, stop arguing with me, you're causing us to go off topic. Talk rubbish about santa so I can argue with you on topic. :D

Smell 12-19-2004 05:34 AM

or take it to private message to stay on topic and not ruin a decent thread :D

Abeguy 12-19-2004 11:36 AM

My aunt who is now Jewish wasn't that religous when she was a kid

when her sister was like in high school, she was invited to a Christmas party and when she came back she said this

"did you guys know that Christmas is the birthday of someone called...Christ?"

Yeah, They were Santa believers all the way

Christmas was actulley King Nimrod's Birthday
One of the most evil kings in the Bible

Yes they are, I know for a fact they are, but they've made they're age older or not fileld it in because they don't want people to know, cos I know people who are younger than ten!

That would certainly explain some of the childish stupidity around here. :dodgy:

Fuzzle Guy 12-20-2004 09:02 AM

i've just edit my post so I don't get a warning for bad language or offending users! But I suppose that's childish isn't it!

I'm ever so sorry for not endorsing the belief in false idols. I'm just trying to stop you from going to hell :fuzwink: :talk:

Majic 12-20-2004 04:12 PM

I'm raising my child(ren) to believe in Santa. Why? Because a one time dissapointment is worth having their early years of Christmas be filled with that much inspirational joy. And also, the fact I don't want them to be the party poopers Oddguy refered to. Kids aren't mature enough to handle such information as "Santa isn't real" without spreading the word, and ruining the spirit of Christmas for the other kiddies. As much as I hate endorsing bullshit, it breaks my heart to see an innocent kid's happiness go down the crapper.

Now it's time for a funny story. An anonymous poster reported a post from this thread, reason being a person on this forum believes in Santa.

Jacob 12-20-2004 05:58 PM

Is that the reason? Or is the fact this thread bashes the idea of Santa into a great pulp of foecial mess the reason?

The latter being my concern, too.

Majic 12-20-2004 09:43 PM

No. They seriously reported the post, with the reason stated as "There are people on the forum who believe in Santa!" or something like that. Minus the perfect grammar.

odd chick 12-20-2004 10:18 PM

I remember when I was about 6 or 7 I woke up to get a drink of water and accidentally caught my dad sneaking presents under the tree. I was pretty sure then that Santa wasn't real, but I asked my mom anyway if Santa existed and she said, "Well, umm....the truth is that.......well.....he doesn't." I guess she thought that I was going to be devastated or something, but I had my doubts about it for a while. After she told me the truth, I just said "Oh, okay." and walked off.

Biggy Bro Slig 12-21-2004 12:44 AM

Santa is real, well he was....
About 2500 years ago, he used o give out money for the poor, but then he died.
(Blah, like the old jolly man was 2000yrs old and still alive!)

sligster 12-21-2004 02:29 AM

havn't any of you seen ATHF? Santa is a giant red ape living on an alien world! He sends out his space elves every year to give wooden toys to the children like he did in ages past! You see, Santa Monkey does not realize that humans have evolved from when he was still on Earth. When he was still on Earth, he would gives everyone the wooden toys, and then everyone would poo on them, and then hurl it at others! Does that mean nothing to you?

Iam 12 too so what ? Atleast I have the guts to share it and not put Age : 18 or shit . And if there are those younger than 10 hiding their age , they're just bloody cowards

Necrum Miner 12-21-2004 06:20 AM

I worked it out when I was eight, realising that since when it's day on one side of the planet, it's night on the other. So it'd be impossible, no matter what speed you're moving at, to travel around the world in one 'night'.

Cloverfield 12-21-2004 09:47 AM

Now THAT really is interesting. And a bit fishy.

Why did you end your post with Summoner Yunas' name and not yours?

A bit late, but I better clear it up.

I also run a site called Advent Children.net. it just happens to be that Summoner Yuna is the name that I use on that site [you can check the staff section and see me listed there under that name]. It's actually a semi-popular name on FF forums and it's not uncommon to register at a FF site and find it taken already. I chose it sometime ago because that is my favorite female FF character and it stuck with me. I wanted a FF related name as Abe Babe doesn't quite work on a FF site. And having a name with Sephiroth in it gets me confused with being a guy.

Actually, the Summoner Yuna here requested a name change a while back, and although we don't usually do name changes that easily, I jumped at the chance when I saw it the other day, cause it's annoying as hell to have a member here with the same name as one I use on another site. So she is now known as "Ashe".

So sorry for the confusion. I usually don't get mixed up as to which forum I am on, but I guess it slipped my mind when I made that post.

... continue on.

Summoner Yuna...
Erm, I mean Abe Babe... ;)

'"There are people on the forum who believe in Santa!"'

I would've taken that as somebody complaining that there are people on the forums who believe in Claus, and thus you shouldn't be saying that he's not real.

mawk 12-21-2004 01:10 PM

'"There are people on the forum who believe in Santa!"'

Yeah I was shocked too at first but then, with the help of counselling, I got over it. I'm now a 22 year old opium dealer, running a semi-successful home business manufacturing and selling erotic pillow cases over the internet.
