cos its funnier to watch them squirm.
because Abe learned to better use his possion ability, he can now posses more creatures then before, use an orb to direct the possion on a specific target and he can now deposses in a non lethal way :p
But only glukkons - all other creatures still explode. Even paramites and scrabs, if my memory serves me correctly.
Hmmm. That is rather weird. If wildlife creatures in Munch's Oddysee do explode on depossessing (I'm not sure), then how do you explain that in Abe's Exoddus, wildlife was left in tact? Perhaps Abe had a memory relapse? ;)
But! I'm, not certain! Abe could very well depossess wildlife in a harmless manner. Alcar... |
He does. Abe has never blown up wildlife by possession.
Max's right... perhaps Wildlife are easier to posses/deposses due to their week minds...
Or perhaps Abe regains control of how to release his host. The most sacred Scrabs and Paramites must be returned un-ruptured, but the loathsome and vile Sligs and Glukkons merit a different fate.

I heard on G4tech tv that either OWI, or their first game, AO (I can't remember which one) was originally titled Soulstorm before it was changed to Oddworld. Interesting.
yeah, AO was originally called soulstorm. Their publisher (was it GT Interactive?) suggested the name Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee.
:
Yep. It was GT interactive. I never knew this until I saw it on G4tech tv either. Yay for G4tech tv!! =) |
what is G4tech tv and do they say anything else interesting about OWI?

But slogs count as industrial
Slogs are wildlife though...and not intelligent enough to make their own descisions. They're trained by Industrails.
One could argue that Sligs aren't smart enough to make their own descisions either. They're brought up to be mudokon hating Industrial gaurds. That's why the old MO quarma system made sense. Where you were able to choose if you wanted to kill a de-possessed slig or not. You got better quarma for leaving as many alive as possible. -oddguy |
:
G4tech tv is a really cool channel that talks about nothing but videogames. I remember that they had a cool segment on OWI one time on a show called "Icons". That is where I found out about the title being changed from Soulstorm to AO. However, I don't know if they have that channel in Australia. It would be cool if they did, though :) |

I think oddguy means when the game was still for the PS2. When you depossessed a slig, you were originally supposed to be able to choose whether you would kill him or not. |
A few more strange Odd Facts:
(This is a follow-up to the toilets in Vykers Labs) Vykkers and Interns wear no clothes, and I can see that they don't need any toilets, so they must be Mud Toilets. In Fecco Depot on AE, on one of the screens, there is a sign and it has an Image of Vykkers Labs on it, with a picture of a Fuzzle if I remeber correctly, and it reads 'Vykkers Labs, coming Soon'. |
There is a sign that says 'Vykkers Labs, Comming Soon' but it dosen't have any fuzzles on it.
I thoughit was just the title Vykkers Labs, you may be right. I will go check it. I know exactly where it is.
:
Yeah I always though that was kinda freaky, and with that matching hats.
I played MO and discovered interns have asses . Possess one and see it for youreself .
Interns were originally meant to wear G-strings (or thongs for non-australians) which showed off their pimply arses.
That would have been disturbing.
Maybe one of the muds cleaning the Intern rooms threw up. |
Well there are lots of funny strange things in the games like you know in MO when you watch the movie about the Vykkers putting sonar in Munch's head, well the Intern comes in with a fuzzle in his hand and drops it. There are 5 fuzzles plus the one he drops but when you start you only have five fuzzles, also what makes a Vykker male or fremale when they can reproduce on there own. Why can Abe fall about 100 feet from a pole which he hit at 200mph or something like 320kph and still live? And I could keep going if ya want. All these things aren't supposed to make sence (expect for maybe the fuzzle thing) thus Oddworld is well dare I say it...Odd.
P.S. I can give you a list of 20 more little things like the ones I mentioned if anybody wants them. |
I want them, their cool
About the Fuzzle: Biggy Bro Slig noticed that, and I said maybe he died Another starnge Odd fact: If there are those thingies in MO that bring Muds back to life with Spooce, then why did Abe even bother saving everyone from Rupture Farms, Soul Storm Brewery if he could just bring em back to life anyways :fuzconf: |
Prehaps the it only brings back if the Mud died near by
Or mabey the muds didn't have those back then. |
Abe can only resurect native muds, who lived in the free wilderness, not the slaves who lived captured in the industrial world
In AE it says that there are 200 Mudokons, well one blind falls off a cliff when Abe tells him to follow him but he there are no causilties when you check your Qurma. The Sligs in AO have a straight solid red visor where the ones in the clips in AE have 2 eyes instead of a visor. How come in AO you can jump into the portals yourself but you can't open a portal for yourself to go home? Why don't sligs shoot fleechs?Vykkers know what Nictine is when that is a substance grown on Earth (their is an addicitive substance called Nictine on Oddworld too I suppose). I will keep up new odd facts like this in my posts (just don't wanna give em all away at once)
Well shouldn't you know? Your the Mud.
Maybe they stole the Nicitine from Earth
:
That's quite a good question. And I have the answer! *throws tea in his face* RUN MY MONKEY SIDEKICK! BEFORE HE GETS HIS BOOMSTICK! Well I have a strange fact. Interns have asses! :
Nicotine is simply a chemical. We can hardly be surprised that there's water on Oddworld.
the chemical elements are the same then on earth... basicaly
imagine if they have to imagine a whole new chemical system, pure maddness |
then we will still be waiting for MO , or even for AO!!
:
and why is he bouncy?
well Alf said it was because of the spooce (antisipating :p) |
:
Real-World Explanation: the 2 eyes give them more character and expression. Oddworld Explanation: The visors played havoc with they're depth perception, causing a number of workplace accidents where sligs kept on walking off platforms or into machinery. I'm surprised no-one's asked Alf about the extra fuzzle. I"m sure he'd come up with a funny if unlikely explanation. |
Yeah I know Alf expained it but that is kinda weird still considering the Flying sligs have 2 eyes in the game. Oh and how about this one. You know when you possess a slig in MO and you go around insulting everyone and one of the responces is "yeah sure, and ya motha" well they all got the same mother so they be insulting there own mother
