Glukkons are self-loving, obsessed with their own image. It's comparable to the Slig status based on weaponry. Glukkon popularity is centred on looks and appearance, so robotic limbs of any kind just would not be a profitable market for the Vykkers to develop for.

reading from somewhere near the top of the page, glukkons do have arms, that's what they walk on. And they have legs but they're tiny. Check the good ending of AO.
