I think he left. I can take his place as FC mod! Yay!

But seriously, we could hack him. It's quite simple, but the Admins wouldn't be too happy with us, and when we die we'll all go to Forum Hell where bandwidth is minimal and spam is allowed.

*shudders*

Actually, after thinking about it, allowing spam would be pretty kick-ass.

Killa_47 07-09-2004 10:50 AM

*cough cough* :spam:

Back to the subject.............yes very beatles hair

Facsimile 07-10-2004 12:36 AM

Yeah, that's only cause I was rockin' out and it kind of goes like that. By the way, at that particular point of time I was saying "Wake the dead"[/uselesstrivia].
And those are my amps, that was at the Rockquest, everyone used those ones.
And that's not my guitar. That's the school's one, but my old guitar was too shit to rely on so I borrowed that one. This is my new one which I got a couple of weeks after that night. Oh she's so sweet, and cost me a pretty penny too:

Wil 07-10-2004 11:26 AM

AlphaScrab: Awww, I was soooo looking forward to surprising the Forumites with that! No worries...

Re: PA: No one could ever forget that! My already-enjoyable day was improved by 68% by being reminded of that. :D

To those with pictures (and of all the threads to have them in): Yeah, you look great. I have no clue as to hair preparation/appearance, so I hope you'll forgive me, Codek, if I don't bring it up. ;) I agree with Jacob, though, facial hair is something to avoid, IMHO, but to each their own. Facs, you... you've certainly captured the moment... :p

Mac the Janitor 07-10-2004 11:29 AM

There is an Aquabats show tonight, and I am SO hyped. I will post pics from it in here tomorrow.

I will be in my full sherriff garb, of course.

Jacob 07-10-2004 12:05 PM

*Titters at 'Aquabats'*
That name is so amusing.

Codek 07-11-2004 01:16 AM

I listened to some of their music the other day.

I can't stand them, frankly. Ska is just... not my scene. But hey if you like em' Mac, go for it. Just don't trap and bring back any music in your, full, shiny, long, lush hair. :robot:

Killa_47 07-11-2004 02:36 AM

Yeh i hate them aswell.
I like The Darkness the best anyway.
Anyway back to the subject.
It's a good guitar.

The Red Muse 07-11-2004 03:01 AM

...right....

Ah...more me... yay :|

Killa_47 07-11-2004 03:03 AM

Codek 07-11-2004 05:27 AM

OMG... is that an S-series Ibanez?

Whoa, that must've cost you megabucks. That's a niiiice guitar man.

Sekto Springs 07-11-2004 05:32 AM

Bitchin' guitar! Yes, they are expensive, my dad had one but he either lost it or sold it.

Codek 07-11-2004 05:38 AM

I spoke to Ibanez over the phone about a custom axe and they never got back to me, which is a bitch.

I was considering getting one of their very nice S series models but I'm not really sure whether I would use it all that much... It would probably end up as a very expensive wall decoration...

Mojo 07-11-2004 07:09 AM

It is one of the S series!

Actually, I was looking to buy the S 370-DVF, but they weren't made anymore. The musicshop had this one hanging around, it's a special edition S 470 unpainted guitar. It's nothing more than a body with some varnish :D.

Nice! So it's quite unique.

That's why I asked you if it actually was an S series. It looks identical to the S series but I didn't recognise the "paint job" (or lack of it).

How much did you end up paying for it?

Mojo 07-11-2004 10:46 AM

Bought it along with my (Line 6 Spider 112) Amp, and I paid € 788 in total, the amp was € 299. So the guitar was like, € 489.

Bargain! ;)

The Ibanez that I was looking at buying was going to cost me around £700. That's not far off €1000 euros. So you're lucky you got such a nice piece of kit for such a comparatively small amount of money.

Sekto Springs 07-11-2004 11:11 AM

I was looking at an S series at my the local shop. It just came in and everyone was eye-ing it, but they wanted an unbelievable £800 something for it. I knew I could get a better deal. Anyone know a place I could scoop one up for about £700?

Codek 07-11-2004 11:23 AM

You live in the USA right?

That's what I always thought. Why's he using the "£" sign?

Cyber-Slig 07-11-2004 03:50 PM

Oi im british. But not english. Not everyone on this is American

Sekto Springs 07-11-2004 03:53 PM

Yes, but most the shops in my area sell things in pounds for some reason.
And I am britain, I was born there. I just live in the USA. I'm half Brit and half Jap actually.

Cyber-Slig 07-11-2004 03:57 PM

Wierd.Youre half jap and half brit and you sound american as heard on ''what do you sound like''

Sekto Springs 07-11-2004 04:18 PM

Your nationalities don't matter, it's really about where you're raised.

Well anyway...

You should be able to pick up an Ibanez S series for about $500 to $600. Second hand they go for about $250 to $300.

The best way to get one is to order online, if you already know you like the way the guitar is set up. (most S series models are identical) If you order online you can avoid a lot of costs, and essentially skip the shopkeeper and his extortionate profiteering.

Personally I'd never buy a standard S series for over $600. They are nice guitars, yes, but they aren't that nice. However if it's a custom job, then it will most likely go way higher.

a flock of seagulls 07-14-2004 05:01 PM

good pics, but just out of curiousity is this thread merged with alcar's/oddguy's?

Dave 07-14-2004 05:05 PM

I do believe it is a continuation.
And to return to topic, I have finally managed to get a picture of myself here.
I took it a few hours ago, and I have become increasingly tired.
I need a haircut. Desperately.

Sekto Springs 07-14-2004 05:53 PM

I like your hair, Dave. I recently dyed mine Nile Blue, it's very wicked (in a sense).

As for the Ibanez, I was thinking of buying one, but like you said, it'll just end up as a fancy wall adornment and dust collector. I've got my eyes set on this uber guitar. I'm not sure what series it is, or what brand it is, but it could easily be moffed by Ibanez. It's looks just kick ass. Hey as far as I'm concerned, a guitars a guitar as long as it's played.

Killa_47 07-14-2004 08:00 PM

Grow it into a HUGE afro Dave!!!

Dave 07-18-2004 02:21 PM

Here's a picture of me and my father from last Christmas. Observe my hair; it is much shorter, yet still a mess.
Note the suits. Geez, I'm just now realizing how dopey we look. Oh, well.
I'm on the right, in the pinstripes.

Codek 07-18-2004 02:23 PM

Lose a very tiny amount of weight (maybe a couple pounds), lose the sunglasses, add a hat, and you're the spitting image of Al Capone. :D

Disgruntled Intern 07-18-2004 06:13 PM

Bah, you're insane.

SeaRex 08-09-2004 09:36 AM

Whoo... I finally got my ArtCamp pictures developed.

First off, this is a very nervous me before our presentations.
http://home.comcast.net/~mechawasabi/camp1.jpg

This is Jeremy and I. The councilors handed out awards and we won "Dynamic Duo," which had to be the most homoerotic award out of the bunch. It's like "Hey! You two seem to spend a lot of time together. Here! Have a certificate and a coffee mug!"
http://home.comcast.net/~mechawasabi/camp3.jpg

And finally, this is me in my "travel outfit," complete with the gigantic hat 'o pins, vintage military jacket, homemade 'No Resistnace' t-shirt, black slacks, and combat boots.
http://home.comcast.net/~mechawasabi/camp2.jpg

DISCLAIMER: Black slacks and combat boots not pictured.

Heh... I'm lame.

Mac the Janitor 08-09-2004 10:27 AM

Hmm...I could have sworn I already posted this. Well, evidently not.

Yeh, so these were from our trip to Hollywood. My real name is Benson by the way. Hopefully it will make more sense now.

Codek 08-09-2004 10:31 AM

Would you cut your hair for a scooby snack, Benson?

Mac the Janitor 08-09-2004 10:32 AM

For two, maybe. :p

I actually got it cut a couple of weeks ago, down to about Luke Skywalker length.

Now, two weeks later, it looks EXACTLY LIKE THAT AGAIN.

I swear, it's like a giant weed on my head.

Codek 08-09-2004 10:35 AM

Mmm, weed.

Disgruntled Intern 08-09-2004 11:45 AM
