5. Muse - House Of The Rising Sun

Is that a cover? I just find it a bit odd that there could be multiple songs with such a specific title. Or maybe my memory of music titles is fading, and I'm mistaken.

Loup Garou 06-30-2004 10:08 AM

Well, I have a great mixture of music so, here they are....!

Fading Away 06-30-2004 10:23 AM

#1 is most definitly "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zepplin
#2 is Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing"
#3 is Kansas' "Carry On My Wayward Son"
#4 is Stevie Ray Vaughn's "The Sky Is Crying"
#5 is Lynard Skynard's "Free Bird"

I know #1 is right, but, im guessing the 2-5 is a little wrong..but i think those song's are really great:)

Statikk HDM 06-30-2004 12:26 PM

I was expecting to see Korn's "Falling away from me". I think it has something to do with your very similar name, and Korn frontman avatar.

Khanzumer 06-30-2004 01:52 PM

Minority? Jeebus. That song curdles my blood every time I hear it. Though since you had Damnit on your list, I forgive you. And The Scientist. That's one of the few things from Coldplay I actually like.

Fez 07-02-2004 08:49 AM

4. White Stripes - Black Math
3. Scissor Sisters - Laura

Why won't this thread die?

I can't stand these "oh look at me pay attention to me look at how cool I am" style threads. Seriously. There is no point to them. All that happens is every single active member on the forum shows off their "cool" musical tastes, hoping to get some ego stroking, and before you know it you end up with 2-5 pages of track listings that nobody really cares about. It's not even interesting.

Honestly, what person on this forum see's a thread like this and thinks to themselves (or maybe even retardedly says out loud) "oooh look, 2-5 pages of track listings! that's gunna make for some beasty reading!"? Exactly, nobody. Because that's who wants to know - nobody.

Now please, let it DIE! This inane drivel is grinding through my brain like a stone cutter surfing on a gamma ray - literally just from being here. It's like the nuclear reactor core of self-spectacular "praise-me-please" ASCII trash.

I see no problem. Some people may enjoy picking up a band or at least a few tracks from someone else. Music is one of those uber topics you can have a conversation about with anyone. Discussing tastes merely bears similarities and healthy debate.

So tell me, do you find reading through 2 pages of members listing their top 5 songs of all time really interesting? I certainly don't.

Discussing tastes is fine, but listing 5 songs barely amounts to discussing tastes. Look around, there is no discussion here. The only discussion is the one we're having now.

Hobo 07-02-2004 10:38 PM

I agree with death here actually. This thread has no purpose. Burn it.

Fez 07-02-2004 10:54 PM

I got my new Placebo album this morning "Black Market Music" Its very good, so I even have a new list.

5. Placebo - Taste In Men
4. Muse - Time Is Running Out
3. Placebo - Haemoglobin
2. Placebo - Days Before You Came
1. Placebo - Every You, Every Me

So, let us disscuss the different changes of Placebo, their first album, Placebo was heavy, with "offensive" lyrics. The second album, Without You I'm Nothing, was slower and more thoughtful, Black Market Music, which was their 3rd is a mix with the first two albums, and the latest Sleeping With Ghosts is just a new "cleaner" theme. Which side did you like the most? I personally like the new Sleeping With Ghosts. I think they changed for the better.

Hobo 07-02-2004 11:07 PM

Ugh. Don't listen to Placebo, other than The Bitter End.

They just seem a bit dull really.

Fez 07-02-2004 11:08 PM

I should send you Taste In Men, its different, and very good too.

Lucipher 07-02-2004 11:50 PM

And considering that he probably does have taste in men. HAHAHAHAHA!

Fez 07-03-2004 12:04 AM

Luc, I think its time you went back to the graveyard.

Nancy boy is good. Bitter end is a niiiiice tune, I agree with you there. That song about the picture, "We miss her picture" or something... that's a good song.

Pure morning is a bit boring. Most of their other songs are boring too. Placebo is one of those bands that make a few good tracks then the rest are really boring and tired.

Fez 07-03-2004 10:56 PM

I dont see what all the fuss about Nancy Boy is for, I dont think its that good.

You talk as if people only like Nancy Boy because it's "cool". Has it ever occurred to you that maybe people are making a fuss about it because it's a good song in their opinion?

Fez 07-03-2004 11:28 PM

I realise the use of italics there.

I mean in all these reviews and interviews, everyone is saying stuff like "It doesnt live up to Nancy Boy or Pure Morning" or "Why wasnt Nancy Boy played at the concert" It just seems a hyped up song thats all.

It's probably often hyped up because the journalist writing the article likes it. To them it is seventh heaven to rock out to Nancy Boy at a live gig.

(in a russian accent) What do I look like, the explaination machine? How about you give me break eh?

Fez 07-03-2004 11:41 PM

That gave me an urge to play Goldeneye, which I dont have anymore.......

That sir, is what we in the undercover agent business, like to call a "setback".

Ferill, how can any of these be your list of 'best ever songs' to you when you change it everyday? You need to look at things from a more critical point of view and not just say "That song's the best" every time you hear a new one.

Thank you for sharing the same viewpoint as me, despite me forgetting to show my viewpoint.

Or whatever.

Smell 07-05-2004 06:14 AM

I'm gonna rate your list.

First one, good choice there, nice slow song, compliments The Zypher Song well.

Losing my religion is a lovely song. Another good choice.

Now I haven't heard Taking Over Me or How Soon is Now, so I guess I'll skip the judgement of them.

The Zypher song. Good choice, nice bit of RHCP there, it's one of their newer songs that sounds half decent. Unlike the mess that is Save The Population. I think that the Zypher song isn't their best feel-good song though. 'My Lovely Man' is a good feel good song, but a bit 'harder' so to speak. Though saying this songs always affect people in different ways.

'Bliss' by Muse is a nice feel good song, but my ultimate feel good song, in my opinon is 'Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life' By Monty Python. Always manages to lift my spirits.

Fez 07-05-2004 07:41 AM

Placebo - Passive Agressive
Muse - Eternally Missed
Me - Singing a song I wrote called Purple.

All of them are my feel good songs.

Thanks, someone acctually likes my taste in music. I think I've heard of Muse somewhere, but I've not actually heard any of their songs so I'm going to download some right NOW

"That's me in the corner... that's me in the spot, light, lo-sing my religion."

Great song, good choice Smell. :)

nads 07-05-2004 01:33 PM

You know what? Frankly, I don't give a damn.

Sekto Springs 07-05-2004 01:40 PM
