There are studies done that show that babies begin pleasuring themselves in the womb. As much as we might not like to admit it, we are animals with all of the very basic urges, survival, gratification, the need to procreate. I just find it so impossible that they couldn't figure it out.

I concur.

Once you get rid of logic, all you have is instinct. Today instinct is replaced with logic and what we know for a fact, but sometimes when we least expect, instinct will kick in.

What I can't believe is when people argue about this, they keep forgetting certain aspects of the story. Like, "Really religious." The parents could've discouraged sexual behavior for one thing, not to mention that pleasuring yourself still doesn't teach you how babies are made, all you know is that it feels good. Let's look at a list of possible factors based on the story:

Religious repression (Do not underestimate this!)
No non-religious friends
Strict religious parents (remember the film, 'Carrie?' )
Home-schooling, or little socialization at school
No TV
No internet (yes, people can still exist without TV or the net.)
No reproductive education. (masturbation is not education.)

All of these are very realistic. There are all kinds of people in the world, you can't just assume that things are going to happen the same way in everyone's life as yours. Some people live very sheltered lives, I've seen it first hand. That's why I say Murphy's law supports this pretty well, because with all the crazy things we're capable of, this really does not seem impossible.

I find it hard to believe, as oddguy's little scenario rings true. But don't put it down to religion alone, Shell Man outlined a few non-religion related causes.

Stranger things have happened. I didn't think it was possible for a dude's penis to explode, but it is. Plus, I just have a tendency to believe the media. I mean, what would be the point of faking a story? It just seems more logical that it really happened than that they made it up.

The exploding penis thing could've been caused by a birth defect.

My doctor IS a specialist, since he is about the only person who people will be open with about issues concerning their penis. Most GPs are like that.

So your Doctor specialises in Penis'? Something that, say, a Surgeon would have to have vast knowledge about? I still think it's possible. Not an actual explosion per sa. More of the vessels bursting and popping.

I asked MY penisoligist and he said it's quite possible.
