How about... no voting system:p
|
What would you suggest we do otherwise?
Alcar... |
Nothing. Everything is fine as it is, I say.
|
Yes, but that does not rectify the fact that some members feel they deserve a custom title. Through the use of the voting system, those people deemed as good contributors by the members are awarded one. Therefore it eliminates any bias that may be existant on my behalf, so that custom titles are solely based upon Abe Babe's or my opinion.

I think that nomination should only be allowed by the staff and possibly some members that the mods deem a veteran. This way it'll stop a popularity contest more than if everyone can nominate, which could lead to n00bs with titles and veterans without.
|
My guess is it would get tedious after a while...I don't think anybody really cares about custom titles anyway...
|
Well obviously someone does otherwise this thread would never had appeared.
|
[cough]Death[/cough]
Nobody has said a peep since he left. |
And he already has a custom title anyways.
|
I don't care about user promotions. Sure, it seemed like a cool idea, but I'm not dying without it. Death was the one who started all the controversy...like he tends to do. :D
|
Not intending to start an argument, but I think you'll find there were other people involved, who would rather have Death take all of the blame, than expose themselves alongside Death.

Like most others are claiming now, I think User Promotions is a pointless waste of time. We already have post-counts and ranking (both of which I ignore), and members still have their reputations. I'm sure those people who behave sensibly, and who are constructive and contribute what they can, are held in a higher regard than people who frequently spam and mess around.
When I started promoting myself in the last set of mod elections, my motivations were to help the community, not to up my own status. Contrary to that, though, custom titles for the veteran and well-respected members is a brilliant idea. Forum-wide voting sounds like a lot of effort, not to mention an over-the-top action. I can't claim to have an instant solution to suggest, but this whole thread sticks of pointlessness. Majic is predominantly right - things are dandy as they are. |

Oddguy if they were they're not going to now as reading that comment would make them feel guilty or embarressed. Silly child. No cookies for you. Only for Max's good post.
|
Well, if they don't speak up, then they have no voice of their own and they are therefore uncool in my book. And I don't need cookies...not when I have cheesecake topped with cherries! :p

Homemade yogurt pie pwns them all.

What's the recipe? PM me.

Turning into spam thread...

Cheesecake is one of the best desserts out there. I don't know what kind of chessecake you have tasted, SS, but what could make you hate something so beautiful? :crying: Why!? Lemme see, something constructive to add... User Promotions aren't needed at this time. Thank You. -oddguy :fuzcool: |
Okay.
Then User Promotions are a no-no. Alcar... |

I think it would be a good idea just to give everyone this promotion. Let us all customize our accounts. It would make the custom titles less special, and more of a decorative/fun feature. Thus taking away any air of superiority complex between people with custom titles, and people without them. We could at least try it out for ha-has. If we get too many complaints about it, we could just revert to the way things were. |

It's just an idea. I don't want take away any awards other have or anything. |
