I don't dislike you, Death. I've talked to you on MSN before and I know you're not a bad guy. But...when you come on the OWF it seems like you're a completely different person that only complains and starts arguments. OWF really must bring out the worst in you, which is sad.

*non-siding statement*

The "losers" were not rubbed in on last time. After reviewing the old list of winners, I also can't seem to find a person that wasn't deserving of what they won. It's true, the majority of the forum would probably enjoy seeing a thumbtack stuck in your sandwich at lunch *cringe*, that doesn't mean people abandon all values and merely put their online friends up. This isn't a school election where 10 year olds are the voters.

EDIT: I actually agree somewhat with Oddguy. I remember with the couple of pms, you were perfectly sociable, and I beleive I talked to you on Aim once. Maybe I'm mistaking with that though.

No, you did talk to me over AIM. Majicman or whatever your S/N was.

You're right I am very different when I am here. I guess it's because I've been in so many fights on this forum that I just behave differently and expect the violence...

I dunno. I'm currently trying to figure stuff out for myself right at the moment in time. Maybe I'll come up with a solution to it or something. *shrug*

Sounds like wishful thinking to me.

There should be a wishful thinking catagory... I bet we'd have lots of joint winners on that one. ;)

Fez 02-01-2004 01:50 AM

i REALLY want to win best writer, so should i post up my new story now, so that the judges can read it. Or does it not matter.

Codek 02-01-2004 03:42 AM

To be honest I think I'm above all this now. It's not worth batting an eyelid at. If you kiddies want your little beauty contest then I'm not going to stop you. Or try to stop you. Or hold it up. Or whatever.

Either way, it's fine by me. I just ask that you think about whether this sort of thing will really have any kind of positive effect. And whether there is any lasting point to it. In any case, its one great big freaking waste of time and energy if there ever was one. So you gotta think about whether that energy is well spent.

That is, if your brain is still capable of thought after being mushed up by all these popularity compos... ;)

Al the Vykker 02-01-2004 10:44 AM

Yeah, I was atleast able to win one award last time. I think it was something around the lines most meaningful poster, etc.

VaniLLaKiLLah 02-01-2004 10:54 AM

i want one too...

It probably does seem like a big popularity contest, or a way of single-ing people out, but last year it was just a whole lot of fun. lindsay even enjoyed getting her 'Most Annoying Poster' award.

EDIT: Wolfpac, stick with your original list, just adding 'Most Angry User' or something along those lines. Trust me, the more catagories, the more time it takes, the more people won't be bothered answering them all/ or properly.
All that added with the crap ideas people have given in.

OK, next time the entire forum lets me know that they don't like me, I'll try to enjoy it like lindsay did.

WTF?!? What kind of moron would enjoy being called annoying?

This just demonstrates the stupidity of this forum; they don't ban annoying members, they just let them continue doing it, and then give them awards for it. For ****s sake!

You know what Facs? You're right, this is a whole lot of fun, I'm laughing my head off at you idiots already.

Jesus Christ people, get a clue!

Cloverfield 02-04-2004 12:30 AM

I'm not really one for popularity contests ... however having an awards thing really doesn't hurt either. Lots of forums have awards and things like that. It doesn't hurt anyone, and it allows a forum to have a little member participation. If you're not interested in it, don't vote/look at the thread. It doesn't take over the forum or anything like that nor do you have to vote.

Abe Babe...

Yeah, I agree. I think I will whistle quietly to myself also. The awards arent meant to be something very serious though, or something to get angry or upset over. If people actually were to leave here and feel sad because they got most annoying, that doesnt mean they are that way in real life. Oh well, some of us arent idiots.

You obviously haven't met her...

I don't mean to get argumentive, but why do you continue to stay at the forum after everything you hate about it and our 'attitudes'?

Seargentbig 02-04-2004 11:50 PM

Now, really. If any of you are going to fight(Not argue-that's different), fight elsewhere. This thread is entitled:"The 2nd Annual Oddworld Forum Poster Awards... Need A BIT of help" and it would be nice if we sticked to the topic, not spam up the place.

paramiteabe 02-05-2004 05:30 AM

Well I won some things last year. As for this year I think I will stay out of it. You know share the glory of winning to others. Don't want to be selfish. But I do have an idea for an award and that is Forumer who does the most intresting art award: ;) Consider it because we got some good artist on here.:D

Paramiteabe... :fuzblink:

I know you don't Facs, so consider this my answer to you. People don't constantly sport the same attitude. People wear attitudes like clothes or emotions, sometimes they put on new ones.

For each one of the members at OWF, there is something I like. Some aspect each person. And in the same way, for each person here, there is an attitude I dislike.

In short, we all have things about each other that we like/dislike. Sometimes people on OWF put on attitudes that I don't like - but that still doesn't mean I don't like them.

I have an attitude that I occasionally put on when I'm pissed off with the world in general. I know full well that the rest of this forum hates it, but you all basically put up with it as much as you can. I do the same for you guys whenever possible - but some times I am in the wrong mood to put up with things, which is when clashes happen. We all say things in these clashes, moods, and attitudes that we don't really mean, and saying that I hate you all and your attitudes is just one of those things.

Majic 02-05-2004 05:33 PM

G'job, Mr. Seagerantbig.

And the official statement from the high and mighty Majic rests at this:

Death- Whenever you get pissed, I'd suggest you try not to insult any person, idea, the topic in general, etc... in a thread. That way, it doesn't tempt your mortal enemies to jump out at you. Or at least try to post them in a less agreesive/offensive/arrogant/whatever manner.

People who argue against Death- Try to passively read over Death's posts if you disagree, and don't argue with points you disagree with him on unless it truly relates to the topic. It's a simple psychological matter. People hold grudges against Death, so closer attention to his posts (expecting negativity), making you prone to note and argue. You pay attention to every aspect of the post you hate, pay attention onlly to that, and turn it into a flame war. Or something like that.

Maybe I should write a quick little post on flaming, fighting, textual violence, etc... and sticky it. I think the new rules could be unstickied now, or at least moved over to FS&F (which is probably more appropriate anyways).

Yes, I think I'll do that. Tomorrow.

Ah, tomorrow... Tomorrow is a bad day for me. Cold weather has chapped my lips. Cold weather has made me get the sniffles and sneeze alot. Chapped lips + sneezing = every cracked and sore lips. And I have a ****ing solo contest on Saturday. Solo contest + cracked, dry lips = fuzzy sound, poor tone and a bad preformance. A bit off topic, but hell, I had to say it.

Why are you still mocking this award?

Thats not the point. But oh wells, lets just leave this.

Seargentbig 02-06-2004 11:53 PM

Ah, see, now this is an argument. Much better.
Um, just wondering, but when are the awards gonna be presented?

Codek 02-07-2004 12:41 AM

:

It is the point, because you tell me off for something I said some week and a half ago. You're jumping at the chance to be dutiful, and it's really ****ing annoying because the argument ended.

So rather than have me shut up and stop arguing, lets have you shut up and stop telling people off - leave the staff to do that, they know when, how, and where to do it.

Wolfpac 02-07-2004 04:52 AM

Well Death as much as I don't want to admit it, these awards are mostly a Popularity contest. There are only a handful of awards here that actually award effort rather than popularity. But in the end, it's fun. But really Most Annoying is that bad. It just means that you are good at annoying people. I kind of wish that I could win that award. Oh Well. And Most Insane is a good one. If you win that then you are seen as a good fun poster. But hey, these awards are just a bit of fun to keep things more interesting around here.

Lucipher 02-07-2004 10:01 AM

If I get one it will probably be the most insane one. :fuzconf:

Oh Joshy will you please just **** OFF. I don't give a shit for whatever self important point you have to prove. You just constantly make things worse which is why you never make the grade of moderator.

Go away, leave me alone, stop ****ing hounding me.

oddguy 02-08-2004 06:11 AM

Hmmm, this thread seems a bit off-topic to me. :dodgy:

Back on subject: I can't wait for the awards. This'll be the first time I participated in them.
