Yeah, I got Extended TTT for Christmas and watched it yesterday. It all was important.

Like how Wormtongue had the king sign the banning document. "He signed it this morning."

Also, it showed more Interaction between Awoyen and Aragorn. That part with the stew was so funny.
"It's...ummm, good."
"Really!?"

Well, more later. I'm about to step out the door to see ROTK again.:D

-oddguy :fuzcool:

Exactly, also scenes such as where Gandalf and Aragorn are talking about how Sauron is beginning to fear Aragorn becoming king, and how they must trust frodo to finish this quest, etc.

oddguy 12-26-2003 10:35 PM

I know whatcha mean, Al. In that same part I like how Aragorn tells Gandalf that Sam went with Frodo and Gandalf smiles and says 'Good.' It was perfect to see that right after knowing how it ends cinematically in ROTK. Anyway, the extended version of TTT was awesome. I can't wait for ROTK.

Oh, and after seeing ROTK for the second time, I noticed when Frodo was tied up in Cirith Ungol you could see the stab mark from Shelob. It was a little bit below his neck, but I think the Mithril would have shielded him. The only explainable reason is probably that the very tip of Shelob's stinger got through the chain mail.

Oh, and I retract agreeing with the part when I said Gollum falling in the lava bugged me. I watched it again today, and could see that Gollum's skin was cracking and turning red to black. Realistic enough.

I like the Gollum sinking part. He's been changed so much by the ring, who says his skin hasn't turned really heat resistant?

Yeah I wouldnt be suprised if it had. Its kind of funny to see his reaction as he falls. How he starts off looking happy with the ring, and then realizes hes being consumed by the flames.

oddguy 12-29-2003 02:15 AM

Oh, speaking of Gollum...I watched the in-depth documentary on the TTT Extended about how they created Gollum. I knew Andy Serkis was amazing, but seeing all he went through for this part was just so awesome. He went through so much, and he didn't even get nominated.:fuzemb:

Did you see the little bonus clip of Gollum, accepting an MTV award. Its really really hilarious!

Awesome! Which disk is it on...I can't seem to find it?:fuzconf: I really wanna see it.

-oddguy:fuzblink:

Al the Vykker 12-30-2003 02:13 AM

Its on disk 1. Its hidden towards the end of the scene selections. Go from scene thirty, and scroll down once. A small symbol should appear. When it does, just hit enter or select it.

Facsimile 12-30-2003 06:07 AM

When ROTK premiered at the start of this month in our nations capital, that Gollum guy was speaking with microphones and stuff, and he started doing a Smeagol(sp?)/Gollum type thing, where argued with himself about hating the people there.

Yeah thats similar to what happens in the MTV acceptance speech, they actually had Andy Serkis (Gollum) saying thanks to everyone, and apologizing that he couldnt accept it in person but he was down in N Z finishing filming stuff for ROTK, and all of a sudden Gollum comes on the screen and starts saying like "We won because of me, and he starts yelling at Serkis, and at peter jackson, WETA Digital, saying MTV sucks, and swearing, and then smeagol goes like not listening. Its really funny though.

oddguy 12-30-2003 06:55 PM

Thanks for telling me where that hidden clip was, Al! It was so funny. I laughed really hard. I watched it about five times.

So, does that mean the extended FOTR has a hidden feature as well? If so, I'd like to know where that one is.

-oddguy:fuzcool:

Al the Vykker 12-30-2003 08:31 PM

Yes, there is a little hidden clip on the Fellowship extended disk 1. Go to the last scene in the screen selection, and do the same thing you did for the TTT to see an alternate version of the council of elrond scene, that MTV created. Its funny, but I would have to say a bit too much gross humor.

I think theres also a trailer for TTT somewhere hidden on one of the FOTR extended disks.

oddguy 12-31-2003 07:36 PM

That alternate version of the council of Elrond that MTV did was funny! I like never watch MTV anymore, so I keep missing the LOTR stuff.:fuzwink: Anyway, being a big Buffy fan, it was cool to see Sarah Michelle Gellar in that skit. Pfft, using the one ring as a prince albert. Thanks for telling me where that stuff was, Al.......I would never seen them otherwise.

-oddguy:fuzcool:

Al the Vykker 01-01-2004 02:49 PM

I also thought it was funny when they started showing the reactions to Jack by the other characters. I think MTV did a really good job editing it. I also thought it was funny when aragorn says you have my sword, and gimli brings the axe out, etc. Overall, just a really funny sketch.

You welcome though Oddguy.:) It was no problem really, I found most of the stuff only because I looked on theonering.net one day when they had a news article on lotr easter eggs in the dvds.:fuzwink:

Hobo 01-02-2004 07:30 AM

I saw it, thought it was the best of the three films, Gandaulf remains the coolest, and I still hate Orlando Bloom

Al the Vykker 01-13-2004 03:03 PM

Yeah I saw it the beginning of the month. The second time I was able to see some cool things I missed in the battles and such, and get a better understanting of things that I missed the first time. :)

That was funny! I just about wet myself! It was so funny when Jack Black was talking to Frodo, and he's like, " Frodo, eyes up here!" I love it! And plus it had Sarah Michelle Gellar in it! YAY!

oddguy 01-19-2004 02:12 PM

UPDATE: Lord of the Rings: Return of the King is now #4 in the box office. ROTK was in the #1 spot for an entire moth. So ends the reign of the King. :fuzemb:

-oddguy

Al the Vykker 01-19-2004 06:29 PM

Oh well, doesnt mean the other films that are ahead of it are better than it. ;)

Also look how much money its taken in within its first four weeks.

MrBoj 01-20-2004 08:07 AM

one of my only problems with the film was Legolas's character. Mr. Perception/obvious. "A Diversion..." thanks a lot Legolas, welcome to 5 minutes ago!

it had to be drawn out in the end. But even though it seemed to be dragging in the end, it was very much rushed. over 4 years passed in that short time from when Aragorn is crowned to when Frodo leaves at the Grey Havens.

HURRAH for Mr. Jackson's interpretation!

Al the Vykker 01-20-2004 10:50 AM

One of the only reasons I didnt mind the long ending after Mt. Doom, was I like to know everything that happens to the chacters, and I like longer epilogues, and complete closure so I'm not left with any big questions.

Thats one thing that was plaguing me after the third Matrix, I just wanted more closure.

I couldn't agree more.

Now, the real reason I'm posting...
The Golden Globes are on tonight and I'll be watching to see if ROTK gets any awards. I'm also hoping Nip/Tuck gets something. What a crazy show! Anyway...if ROTK does well at The Golden Globes, it could help Peter Jackson and his team for The Academy Awards. *crosses fingers*

Well I watched them about two hours ago and ROTK won four awards.

Best Musical Score

Best Original Song

Best Director

and

Best Picture (Drama)

I was really pleased tonight with how things worked out. I was cheering in my living room as soon as Peter Jackson got best director, and when ROTK got best picture.

They even played some LOTR music as they went up to accept the award. :)

oddguy 01-25-2004 06:35 PM

I live in California, so I'm watching The Golden Globes right now. ROTK just won for Best Original Song where I am and I was cheering in my living room as well. It was the first time I'd seen Fran Walsh...ever. She usually shies away from the public spotlight.

Well, I'm glad I know ahead of time that ROTK won Best picture and PJ won Best Director...but I'm still watching the show. I wanna see what PJ says!:D

-oddguy :fuzcool:

Al the Vykker 01-25-2004 06:41 PM

After you finish watching it, make sure to stop by theonering.net they have full coverage I think and recaps.

oddguy 01-25-2004 06:46 PM

I'll be sure to do that. Right now, they're honoring Michael Douglas. Lalala

-oddguy :fuzcool:

Al the Vykker 01-25-2004 06:50 PM

Also I noticed during each time LOTR wins something at the golden globes they play the song Andurial from the ROTK soundtrack. I just noticed because I was listening to it earlier. :p

oddguy 01-27-2004 07:08 AM

Whoooo! The nominations for The Academy Awards are out and ROTK has been nominated in 11 categories!

Best move ever. I didint like the 1 move very much. the 2 was good. I love the 3. I was sad when it was over after all that. im trying to read the books but I can't find them

Al the Vykker 01-30-2004 11:02 AM

My ranking of the movies (even though I love all of them) are:

ROTK

FOTR

TTT.

Well, hopefully ROTK will steal a lot of the oscars that it was nominated for, including best picture.
