Yeah, I did mean that. I was actually going to put bungey jumping death and skydiving death as two seperate options, but in my tired state, I accidently mixed the two.:fuzemb:

Anyway, another Q on death. What was your worst dream of dying?

I'm Brian and so is my wife.

Being shot by some soldiers whilst at school was my worst dream death. I could of hid but the me-in-slow-motion thing happened and I could get to the wall. I died slowly as well. It was so real. I was basically crying when I woke up.

RavenMM 09-21-2003 09:45 AM

did you feel any sort of pain?

Jacob 09-21-2003 10:43 AM

I hate it when the slow-mo things happen...its happened to me. Has anyone controlled their dreams? I've shot aload of Zombies once by making a gun appear...it was fun...but i can't make it happen anymore.

oddguy 09-22-2003 01:58 AM

I control my dreams sometimes, but when I realize I'm controlling it, I all of the sudden forget how to do it and my dream goes crazy! Oh, and I hate the slow-mo thing. I could be running from someone, and I'll just move so slow.

perfect! I'm the only one who thinks being raped to death is the worst way to die! and I hate it when you try to wake up from a scary dream but you can't... I also hate it when I have a dream that looks so real! I heard that if you get decapitated (get your head cut off) you can still see for 10 seconds... if you die in space it happens in a nano-second becouse space is so cold that the instant nothingness touches you boom your frosen nothing you can do about it...

oddguy 09-22-2003 05:02 AM

According to zee poll, you guys are most affraid of drowning. I'm gonna check some official poll on the web and see what the world thinks. Maybe tomorrow.

Not when I woke up, but in the dream it hurt like hell, and felt like my life fading, and my vision was slowly going red.
Dying sucks.

Me and my friend used to talk about dreams all the time, he said that he once controlled his dream, and tried to make something appear, but it was apparantly quite difficult, and he made the wrong things a couple of times.
He also said there was a television programme about inventions not too far away, and there is one where you place in your room at night, and it does something like flashes, and somehow makes you aware of you dreaming, thus giving you control.

Jacob 09-22-2003 11:46 AM

I've heard of that. You wear it and when you go into REM it flashes a red light which tells you your dreaming...i've always wanted one

Does it really work? I've heard of them I think, but I also heard they were bogus...

I hate dying in my dreams! In most dreams, either someone is dying around me, and I can't stop them from dying, or i'm dying! And i'm always sore after I die in my dreams... :crying: OWCH!

oddguy 09-22-2003 02:12 PM

I've tried making things appear in my dreams. Like, I'll be flying, so I can somewhat control what I see next, but if I think about it to much, I crash!:dead:

Just a regular, everyday Jonah, aren't ya? ;)

Last night I was in bed, still awake, when I close my eyes for a few minutes. Suddenly I get the same shock as I get when I'm in a dream 'falling to my death'.

It was extremely weird, because I wasn't asleep, and I wasn't tired. Yesterday was a night were I decided to sleep early.

Alcar...

I get that feeling aswell, it's apparently the Astral body snapping back into place (back into the body)...

Splat 09-23-2003 06:15 PM

The absolute worst way to die for me would have to be something really painful, so either tortured to death-medievil style, or crucified. I found this with google and edited out most of the random stuff.

Scourging usually took place before a crucifixion.
Preparations for the scourging are carried out. The prisoner is stripped of His clothing and His hands are tied to a post above His head. It is doubtful whether the Romans made any attempt to follow the Jewish law in this matter of scourging. The Jews had an ancient law prohibiting more than forty lashes. The Pharisees, always making sure that the law was strictly kept, insisted that only thirty-nine lashes be given. (In case of a miscount, they were sure of remaining within the law.) The Roman legionnaire steps forward with the flagrum (or flagellum) in his hand. This is a short whip consisting of several heavy, leather thongs with two small balls of lead attached near the ends of each. The heavy whip is brought down with full force again and again across the victim's shoulders, back and legs. At first the heavy thongs cut through the skin only. Then, as the blows continue, they cut deeper into subcutaneous tissues, producing first an oozing of blood from the capillaries and veins of the skin, and finally spurting arterial bleeding from vessels in the underlying muscles. The small balls of led first produce large, deep bruises which are broken open by subsequent blows. Finally, the skin of the back is hanging in long ribbons and the entire area is an unrecognizable mass of torn, bleeding tissue. When it is determined by the centurian in charge that the prisoner is near death, the beating is finally stopped.
The upright post, or stipes, was generally permanently fixed in the ground at the site of execution and the condemnded man was forced to carry the patibulum, apparently weighing about 110 pounds, from the prison to the place of execution.
The prisoner is quickly thrown backward with His shoulders against the wood. The legionnaire feels for the depression at the front of the wrist. He drives a heavy, square, wrought-iron nail through the wrist and deep into the wood. Quickly, he moves to the other side and repeats the action, being careful not to pull the arms too tightly, but to allow some flexibility and movement. The patibulum is then lifted in place at the top of the stipes and the titulus describing the victim's crime is nailed in place. The left foot is pressed backward against the right foot, and with both feet extended, toes down, a nail is driven through the arch of each, leaving the knees moderately flexed. The victim is now crucified. As He slowly sags down with more weight on the nails in the wrists, excruciating, fiery pain shoots along the fingers and up the arms to explode in the brain - the nails in the wrists are putting pressure on the median nerves. As He pushes Himself upward to avoid this wrenching torment, He places His full weight on the nail through His feet. Again there is the searing agony of the the tearing through the nerves between the metatarsal bones of the feet. At this point, another phenomenon occurs. As the arms fatigue, great waves of cramps sweep over the muscles, knotting them in deep, relentless, throbbing pain. With these cramps comes the inability to push Himself upward. Hanging by His arms, the pectoral muscles are paralyzed and the intercostal muscles are unable to act. Air can be drawn into the lungs, but cannot be exhaled. The victim fights to raise Himself in order to get even one short breath. Finally carbon dioxide builds up in the lungs and in the blood stream and the cramps partially subside. Spasmodically, He is able to push Himself upward to exhale and bring in the life-giving oxygen.
Hours of this limitless pain, cycles of twisting joint- rending cramps, intermittent partial asphyxiation, searing pain as tissue is torn from His lacerated back as He moves up and down against the rough timber. Then another agony begins. A deep crushing pain deep in the chest as the pericardium slowly fills with serum and begins to compress the heart.

Pain! Never pick a fight with the Romans (or medievil Catholics)

I remember once when i was about 5 i found i could switch to a different dream when the one i was having got to scary. It was a really frightening dream but i can't remember it now, something about evil puppets i think! (no seriously!) I found I could switch it to something about Disney's version of the jungle book!!! I can't do it now and I can't remember having a scary dream for ages!

I've "woken up" in my dream before. It's cool, 'cause once you realize you're dreaming and you don't wake up, you can run around and do crazy stuff, like punch everyone in the face or walk around naked 'cause it's just a dream...

Is that like when I am sleeping, dreamless, and all of a sudden I wake up and my whole body has jolted and it feels like I've fallen? That freaks me out, since I've only just started getting them.

Lucipher 09-26-2003 06:08 PM

Being exiled from heaven was the worst way to die.

oddguy 09-27-2003 01:41 AM

I couldn't agree more.

So, it seems you're new since I haven't seen ya around before. Anyway, welcome to zee forums!:D By the way, your name disturbs me.:p
