Yeah, that's pretty much what I believe w/ dreams. It's a combination of all those things. Actually I often find I dream about things that I'm into at the time. Like if I'm playing FF a lot, I'll have some FF related dreams, etc.

Of course there are exceptions. Like the other day my brother dreamed before the game that Collingwood would beat his team by 16 points ... and well, they did. He should have gone down the TAB and put some money on it. LOL

Although some of the far out whacky stuff ... I have no idea where it comes from. Yeah, there are the stuff I'd like to happen ... like in some of the Sephy dreams ... um, yeah. *hides* But I've also had some very weird dreams which I have no idea where they come from. Stuff that I would never think I would want to do at all.

In that case you should have dreams about eating and talking. LOL

Hello everyone. I am always having weird dreams. I cannot really explain them, because they are very weird. Like things happen in them that does not happen in the real world. Like climbing a ladder to the sky and things like that.

Reptile 09-11-2003 03:53 PM

When I have a dream, and I wake up...sometimes i forget what it was.

I get dragged away by thinking about other things my dirty mind can conjure up

SeaRex 09-11-2003 06:54 PM

My "good" dreams are almost always sex, art, or video game related in some way. Shows you what I think about...

I have some dreams that include amazing fantasy architecture that I could never imagine while I was awake. Whenever I have one of these, I'll always try my best to document what I saw for future (aritistic) reference, whether it be in my head or some scribbles on paper.

For example, I remember a fragment of a dream that contained my room... only different. Everything had a strange oriental feel to it, and most things were covered in red velvet (or something like it). There was a large, arched window looking out onto a dark landscape with constant lightning strikes in the background (the room seemed to be "floating" now that I think about it). The most distinct element of the room was the fireplace in front of my bed which was made of treated wood and some kind of black/gray stone. The mantle formed the head and neck of a giant abstract dragon which jutted out from the wall and loomed over the bed. Very bizarre. A remembered the dream as "Dragon Room."

Another more recent dream included my family (I think...), my girlfriend, and I (maybe?) in a post-apocolyptic 28 Days Later/Silent Hill kind of world, with great ruined buildings, a late evening sky, and a dark, yet familiar looking forest leading down to a lake. I never could have come up with something so detailed while awake. Bizarre...

[/end boring ramble]

Oddfan 09-11-2003 07:07 PM

I have never had a dream i just go to bed see nothing for it feels like 5 seconds and then wake up. It's probably because I only have two emotions Love and sadness. Hence the nothingness.:fuzemb:

Facsimile 09-12-2003 07:54 AM

Those are probably the two most dream-contributing emotions but okay.

Forbidden Paradise 09-12-2003 10:24 AM

I hate it when something really bad happens to me in dreams, and I am absolutely "frozen" in the dream. Either that or I ever so slowly try to fight back, but always fail. Then I wake up so infuriated and lay a few fisticuffs into my pillow...

I also take at least 30 mins to get to sleep, I just lie there with my eyes closed.

Joshy 09-12-2003 11:01 AM

I have all these weird sick dreams nobody can even think about.
But i have these one really weird dream, i'm walking in this shanty town. Then i arrive in this hall, in front me is this gigantic pillar of marble... its white... anyways there is a whole choir of people singing on top of the pillar of marble. Then they got wings and flew away, as did i.... but its not as good as those dreams i have of monica :p

You better learn to fight, Josh. Because you're toast when I see you on Monday.

That was me quite a while ago. That was until I realised I could drown myself to sleep with loud music :)

I could never get to sleep in the company of noises, stunned silence gets me to sleep, apart from my spider rustling around in his pen probably saying 'Im Hungry!!'

I had a wierd dream last night...

I was in the roof of a building with a bunch of people, and they were all trying to talk to me, but I couldn't hear anybody! It was scary!

OANST 09-12-2003 10:12 PM

I had a dream once where my mom cannibalized my family

GrigtheSlig 09-12-2003 10:16 PM

That's wierd! Was it really scary?

Facsimile 09-13-2003 06:49 AM

How do people taste?

EDIT: Don't say "With their tongue." You know what I mean.

Wil 09-13-2003 07:36 AM

I had a weird dream last night, actually, although I only vaguely remember it. It involved "me" and someone else running away from a tornado that was ripping through a city - strangely enough, it was clearly an American city.

Anyway, we got in a car in a narrow road with tall buildings on each side, were driving down the road when the tornado appeared in front of us, so we swung the car round and tried the other way, but the tornado just came round and blocked our exit, again.

At some other point, maybe earlier, maybe later, we were running down a really wide street in a sort of suburban area. A car came round the corner and drove down the street, followed by the tornado, moving much more slowly. People walking down the road saw it and started running away, except from one businessman who was walking down the middle of the road, engrossed in his mobile phone. He then walked over to his house, but "me" and the other person blocked his entrance, saying he couldn't come in because all his furnature had been moved to Number 3. Our reasoning was that if he went in his house, he wouldn't notice the 'nado and would inevitably get killed.

Much later, and suddenly the scene has shifted to a beautiful British country lane surrounded by green meadows. We were on a horse. "Me" has become someone else, and I'm now me. At one point, we had to get the horse don't a steep slope on the side of the road, the slope was shaded heavily by a canvas of tree branches, and there were loads of knee-high leafy plants, which the horse was chewing, and bringing back up as cud. Yes, it was a horse, not a cow.

I've a feeling that the first ones were scenes from a film, but if they weren't, they certainly had a film quality to them.

Just for interests sake, what side of the road did you drive on?

Okay, I have a question for you all:
When you have dreams, are you in you, or are you watching you?
I'm alway watching me, like it's a movie or something, but most other people I know are themselves.

Forbidden Paradise 09-13-2003 09:14 AM

That's an interesting question, and I'm surprised no-one has asked it any sooner.

I also see myself in my dream.

Reptile 09-13-2003 09:29 AM

No Mac, I clearly wrote spider, I guess next time I'll use a bigger format :p

Wil 09-13-2003 11:05 AM

No it was a narrow, single-lane road, almost an alley, surrounded by tall buildings. If you want to ask interesting questions, you'd ask how we swung the car around, but the answer to that would be I don't know.

:

I dream in 3rd person, not 1st person.

Silversnow 09-13-2003 12:47 PM

I switch, sometimes I'm me in my dreams and sometimes I see myself. But most often, I'm not even there.

Splat 09-13-2003 04:47 PM

I switch between camera view and eye veiw to.

My sister apparently had this dream where she had a DEAD SQUIRREL(!!!!!) stuck to her right arm and she couldn't get it off for ages. When sh did she had loads of squirrel hair stuck to her arm.

Then, after hearing about that dream, her friend apparently had a dream where she was being chased by LOADS OF PEOPLE WITH DEADSQUIRRELS STUCK TO THERE RIGHT ARMS and my sister was the ring leader and no matter how hard she ran she couldn't get away from them, and then they caoght her and tried to stick a dead squirrel to her arm!!!!!

To the best of my knowledge, that really is entirely true, no matter how freaky it sounds, even for a dream!!!

SeaRex 09-13-2003 07:30 PM

I switch from 1st to 3rd all the time...

I remember after one of my all-nighter Wolfenstien sessions (which have becoming rarer and rarer since school), and I had a WW2-esque dream after I was done. It was a night scene with two soldiers (I actually think they were 2 of my friends in drab) and I attempting to evade a demon (think "Jeepers Creepers") and make it to "home base," which happened to be a pick-up truck.

I distinctly remember running through abandoned water ducts and climbing up a long ladder in first person. The view changed to third once I was at the top and through the latch. My "teammates" and I met up at a bridge, ran across, and were killed. :D We "respawned" in a video game kind of way, back in first person. This process repeated several times, until I finally got pissed off and woke up.

I love dreams like that. And I love parentheses. I love it good.

Alcar 09-13-2003 11:58 PM

I dream in the third person. I can't remember where I've ever been in the first person. It's always on the perfect angle which I'm viewing myself from as well ;)

MrBoj 09-14-2003 03:51 AM

yes, I've had dreams featuring devils, witches, dinosaurs, bridges with eye balls staring at me, various people in my life, arious people I don't know, underground subterranean wars and alien structures, a-la Sumerian architecture. I've never had a dream about a celebrity, at least no lucid ones.

Ooh... OOH! The vanity!

I can't remember any dreams of witches, goblins, ghosts or the like, but I remember ages ago, probably when my spider-dislike was at its peak, I dreamt that everyone was turning into giant spiders. That freaked me out.

Oh, and once I dreamt there was a slug on the floor at the bottom of the stairs. I actually woke up as if it were a nightmare. Not that I'm scared of slugs, or anything. Hmm...

Oh, and don't forget after my first trip to London (and hence first time I'd used underground trains) I dreamt I'd been unable to get on one of the tube trains, and had to wait on the platform for ages until the next train came. In the meantime, though, a load of teenages/college student-types were mucking about on the lines.

Yes.

Forbidden Paradise 09-14-2003 09:29 AM

I wish an interesting dream would come to me soon. Maybe it's because of my lack of sleep for the past few weeks. I hate dreamless sleeps. It feels like you haven't slept at all.

paramiteabe 09-15-2003 02:26 PM

Have any of you had a dream of Freddy Kruger once?

I swer on a stack of bibles that I did. It was very wierd. I guess it was because I was watching it a few nights before. But I actually had a dream of Freddy. That is rather unusial since thats what Freddy is about. Hunting people in their dreams. It was like ironic in all the dreams I had, Freddy was in one. I mean obvieously I dident get killed like in the movies when I went to sleep but haveing a dream with Freddy in real life is just creepy.

Reptile 09-17-2003 04:22 PM

I have a few dreams of Freddy, im actually still asleep when he kills me, the agony. Ugh.

SeaRex 09-17-2003 06:41 PM

I had the most kick-ass dream last night.

I was a Demon who went on a killing-spree in a old Cathedrel. I had a spiffy black cape, big black wings, and telekenitic explodey powers (kinda like Gambit from the old X-Men cartoon). Man, I looked BADASS! I could also turn it to this nifty black fog, and I kept scaring the organ lady by flying up and down her stairwell. In the end, I think I agreed to let a priest perform an exorcism on me... but he never did. I think I woke up before he cut off my wings.

It was so delightfully morbid... I know it sounds so tacky and shallow, but it was one of the best dreams I ever had. I mean, I could friggin' fly and jump over buildings! Great stuff.

And I think I impaled some babies on a big cheandelier[sp], which is always a plus.
