Although Max's question has been answered already, I just use the software that comes with my CD burner ... Nero. It has a Wav Editor in there. So you open up the Wav file and then go to File -> Save As and choose Mp3. ;)

Ah damn! Oh well, as long as you eventually post up all the Oddworld music for us, it doesn't really matter that I don't know how to do it.

correct me if I'm wrong, but you record the music dirrectly from the game, no? I mean you don't extract the music files with some programs...

I say this because you can hear the sligs walking in your last .wav file, and it isn't probably in the original music track

they are extracted from the PC games using "certain" programs...nothing illegal though:eek: but there are ways to pull the music out away from the sound files like slig legs...i did that for Feeco music originally you could hear a chant surpressor in the background but i used the programs to delete the wav files...i was just too lazy to do that for Sligbarracks aswell, if nyone wants to use the actual music i can delete the slig legs in the background

No problem... but it's kinda strange that the additionals sounds (chant suppresors, slig legs) are a part of the bagground music.

anyway is it possible to extract only the bagground music with some progrmas?

yes, i was just too lazy to do so with the Sligbarracks because it takes a big long process, rendering, timing...the whole 9 and a half yards.

ever heard of Acid Pro? it's a program where you design music and sounds and such, it's that plus a plug in called Radioactivity Acid pluggin.... it's hard to get, i think you have to buy it on CD.

hey sligslinger. Nice sounds. I like the slig walking noise, it adds to the music of the slig barracks. May I suggest you record for a bit longer. Like maybe a full minute. I know the music repeats mostly, but 30 seconds is a bit short. Thanks again for everything!

well the music part stops and just makes a bunch of echo noises that isn't really music past that point, and no matter how long you wait the echo noises keep going....

and i believe that the songs on that album are pretty much all from the FMVs, am i right xav?

There are a few media things I'd be interested in acquiring, since I've managed to download over 500MB of Oddworld stuff in the last two or three weeks. I don't want to push you, you've got plenty done already. Just stuff for the backburner, y'know?

1) Video of the security camera's POV.
2) Video of the Small Scrab Herd - I don't actually remember this one myself, but I'm told by others that it exists.

As in the sound effects? The sound effects are actually part of the music score, though. That's how intricately woven together they have to be to sound right. Dig that amazing Track 4, though.
