The newscaster could be the smartest. He could be far away from this part of Oddworld. The part where muds aren't sclaves. And that's because he makes fun of the three gluckons. So he's not obediant. So maybe he got to have a better education and not havind to depend on glucks.

Jacob 10-08-2002 05:14 PM

What makes you think the Interns will be aquatic?

And i think Odd meant that Crig tells a Mudokon what to type up and then takes the credit for it. Or he forces a Mudokon to type it all up and then takes the credit.

Yeh, that doesn't mean anything. Interns just wear the Speedo's for fashion accesories and nothing more. They are all wearing swimwear...its like a slightly amusing thing. Thats all, nothing more.

Xavier 10-08-2002 06:32 PM

I'm sure you allways wear swimwear without ever going in the water... ahum

TheKhanzumer 10-08-2002 09:43 PM

scuba diving interns

Actually I believe interns were originally going to be scuba-diving enemies for Munch in underwater levels. But, like many things, that idea never made the final cut.

Xavier 10-09-2002 04:20 AM

yes Khanz... I saw something like that too, if there must be an industrial aquatic ennemy it will be an intern

paramiteabe 10-09-2002 11:15 AM

But do we have to rule out sligs? I mean what if there is some kind of offshore Glukkon oil rig that extends underwater through massive pipelines. I am sure we will see sligs underwater if there was something like that. The sligs suits will be like mini subs with little perpellers on the back. Just like the flying slig only as submersible sligs. I say thats Oddworld like. Ya Know?

Xavier 10-09-2002 05:11 PM

I doubt we will see under the water, I would prefer some other creature, new ones...

Jacob 10-09-2002 06:16 PM

Interns dont exactly seem aquatic-esque though do they?

Xavier 10-09-2002 06:20 PM

well I think they are perfectly adapted, maybe with teir complete feets

Drogo 10-10-2002 12:45 PM

I agree with XAVIER. Sligs won't ever scubadive because their equipment would be heavy and expensive. Maybe something that looks like a gluckon would go underwater.

Xavier 10-10-2002 03:29 PM

I doubt some one of the gloktogi family will be a soldier, maybe an aquatic speicie, but not a soldier

Drogo 10-10-2002 05:00 PM

But gluckons come from a squid type of species. So maybe some creatures that come from the same family tree would come to the agreement to serve their brothers.

Xavier 10-10-2002 05:14 PM

octigi family

wich one?

Oddipus 10-11-2002 02:32 PM

Jacob, you got me right.

Interns use the swimsuit for fashion-purposes only.

Interns or sligs won't be aquatic guards I guess, since they can't swim (play MO and you'll see). So to make them ready for some water-action, they need a lot of work. And who is gonna invest in that? Their will probable be other creatures more suitable for that job.

Xavier 10-11-2002 02:52 PM

I'm sure non operated interns (with full legs) can swim pretty well

Drogo 10-12-2002 08:02 PM

Why is it that so many of you think that interns can be aquatic? They are more likely to come from trees as OWI says so even if they had scuba gear they woudn't feel comfortable in water. Mudockons don't swim and they look more like us (humans-creatures that can swim) than any other creature on Oddworld.

Yeah, if you look at the structure of their legs, they look pretty identical to frog legs without feet...

TheKhanzumer 10-13-2002 02:36 AM

intern hans

Pro-Amphibious Interns: Their long, fin-shaped hands could be used for swimming.

Pro-Treedwelling Interns: Their long, agile hands could be used for climbing trees.

well both then... :D
like frogs, half on earth, half in water

Refer to the other Intern topic.

So? They're esentially lizards with bird-like features. They're very clumbsy and heavy. Besides, plenty of humans can't swim either.

It does seem that modern Interns can't swim, but with spindly fingers and stumpy legs it's no wonder. I'm still convinced they were once aquatic, and possibly could be in their natural state.

mudokons are heavy? Abe seems to jump pretty hight for a heavy person, and lots of Mudokons looks squeletic, okay Buddy is heavy, but the others?

Wil 10-13-2002 09:25 AM

Oops, I thought I changed that. No, Mudokons are light, because they have plenty of hollow bones (a feature left from their bird-stage in evolution). Abe does appear very agile in MO, but I don't like that because he was always so clumbsy in the Abe games and suits his character. I'm hoping for that to be sorted out in ME.

Xavier 10-13-2002 09:27 AM

hmmm Abe is clumbsy in the Abe games?
he often fell down off cliffs and so, but he usualy got a good movement coordination

Drogo 10-13-2002 11:42 AM

Abe was clumsy in AE & AO if you controlled him to be clumsy like smacking him against the wall. In the movies he was clumsy because he was in places that were unknown to him. He worked in Rupture Farms all his life and he didn't know how to take care of himself. Or he was distracted by something (AO: Looking up at Odd). But Max the Mug does have a point. He's probably not clumsy in MO because the controlls changed a lot: you can't crouch, you jump like a ball) but I don't know why he's not clumsy in movies. Munch seems clumsier though.

Wil 10-13-2002 12:57 PM

I think that was one of my problems with MO - Abe has transformed from a loveable, clumbsy klutz who almost get pulled into adventures to an agile and adventurous hero. What happened to the anti-hero business?

well it's still here, look at munch... but yes Abe is a bit too good

paramiteabe 10-13-2002 08:39 PM

Now what about sligs climbing ladders? That was introduced in the early production. I hope sligs can climb in Oddworld 4.

Xavier 10-14-2002 03:39 AM

well, yes that's true...
and whatt about mudokons who understand that a possesed slig is Abe, and so can follow him
