Your blind, you can hear. Your deaf, you can see. There are ways.
And?

Im talking about people who are all of that. If somebody was born paralysed and unable to speak clearly its horrible for the parents to keep them alive. I personally dislike it when the child is like;

Child: "Eurrhgekfhk"

Parent: "Awwww, he just said he loved me..."

HOW DO YOU KNOW!? He could be pleading to die and your like "And i love you too..." if thats the case, put him/her out of his misery.

Salty, what i meant was that people like how i described have no dignity to begin with through no fault of their own...Its undignifying to actually go through things such as they do...And i feel sorry for them.

I think you are talking about a kid who is mentally diabled. What about a child who is physically disabled? When if you have a disabled child Jacob? Don't jinx yourself.

What i described can be both mentally and physically disabled.

If i had a disabled child i would be heart-broken. But if my spouse wanted to keep it, i would except that i do what i could...touch wood i have 'normal' children...

Wow, your going to be those hard pleased fathers who get upset when your child's team (who is 6), losses at a modified soccer game and your disappointed but guess what..It's only a game. You don't want a disabled child because you can't go shopping or drink a beer with? You can go shopping with a kid who is disabled. Besides Jacob, your still young, you may have your liscense, when if you get a car accident then you may be disabled or paralyzed? It has happened. That would put you in a disabled person's shoes. Would your views change then?

(1) - Errr...no. I hate people like that, if my kid was in a team and a dad started being like that with them i would smack him. I cant stand c*nts like that.

(2) - I dont want a disabled child cos
a) Its not fair for the child to go through life in such a way.
b) Its hard work!!

(3) - I dont want a car yet...And if i did get one i would be very cautious in it. And very aware of other drivers...

(4) - No, i would want to die...and be released...

Joe the Intern 08-15-2002 09:45 PM

I hate to say it, but I think I see where Chris is coming from. The kid would have one hell of a time going through life. I think I'd wanna be put out of my misery too. :S

PinkHaired Mudokon CWR 08-15-2002 09:54 PM

Oh well Jacob, it's your child don't look in the eyes you do....hmmm..when did you have a child?

Do i have to find someone who speaks fluent Moron or are you going to be kind enough to decipher what you just said!?

PinkHaired Mudokon CWR 08-15-2002 10:21 PM

I speak this type of language to arrogant, moron, schizophrenics such as yourself.:D I underestimated your intellegence. It's not hard to understand.

I was saying, I don't see what you see in a disabled person. And if you have disabled children and decide to put them to sleep, that's your choice not mine. Wow, was that so hard?

I'd want to be euphanised if I was completely paralyzed but if just my lower half was parylised then I wouldn't kill myself. I'd kill myself if I went blind though.

People can bump into. This weirdo bumped into me but it really wasn't that bad of an accident. He bumped me into this person's yard and I had to get a toe truck and I was in troubblllleeeee.

salty pretzils 08-16-2002 04:27 PM

Hmmm....If I got a disabilty that put me in constant agony, or if I went blind and deaf, or if I was totally paralysed so I couldn't move at all, I'd want to die.
Jacob, do you consider blind, deaf and people with mental conditions inferior? Actully, wait, I allready know the answer to that. How severe does a condition have to be to warrent a person not worthy of existing?

Jacob 08-16-2002 05:48 PM

:

No. I dont consider anyone inferior. I just believe that people who wont have a decent shot at life should be put out of their misery. Deaf and Blind people can have a decent shot at life. As can wheel-chaired people. Its the ones who are spastic that dont (If thats offensive to anyone, apologies.)

Did he? Did he, Pinky? Or did you attempt to run him off the road cos he had Pink, fluffy dice hanging from his rear-view mirror!?

No, because that car he was driving he stole it! (the police called a toe for me and told me that the car that man drove, he stole it)

It doesn't matter who you are (ignoramus). That might be a reason why to run you over! Mwahaahaha!

Who are you to decide who will have a decent shot at life and who won't? You can't just decide arbitrarily based purely on their disability. CP Sufferers might learn to cope and want to live. Deaf or Blind people might not be able to cope and might want to die. It is not your decision who gets to live and who gets to die. Basing your decision around a person's physical capabilities is just absurd.

Remember, Voluntary Euthanasia (which is what you support, you told me over MSN) means that it is their choice, and nobody else's.

Sydney 08-16-2002 09:30 PM

Many people with Down's Syndrome are very joyful. Their life is all they've ever been able to experience, so they don't question their disabilities. The same goes for people who are born deaf or blind.

I believe Chris was referring to Cerebral Palsy. (That's what "Spastics" suffer from, isn't it?)

Jacob 08-16-2002 09:50 PM

Danny, when did i say i would commit Euthanasia?
And exactly how would somebody paralysed, who is not able to speak, feed themselves or bathe themselves going to have a 'decent shot at life' its cruel making them live if they dont want to. I was merely stating that if i had a child and it was all of the above and my wife didn't want to keep it, i would allow it to be...euthanised.

See?

So you advocate Involuntary Euthanasia now?

EDIT: Don't get me wrong here, I am a full supporter of Voluntary Euthanasia, but there would have to be a very extreme set of circumstances before I could condone Involuntary Euthanasia.

I don't care. You have no right to decide whether or not another person is worthy of life, even if (especially if) they are your child. And I don't believe for a second that you would ask your child if they wanted to die...

I was referring to Jacob's general belief that those with birth defects wont enjoy life as much.

I was talking about voluntary Euthanasia and a pre-birth child...
