Xavier 07-04-2002 04:38 PM

My guess is Sligs can breath without the mask but mabye the masks serve as some type of gas mask for whenever Glukkons decide to gas renagade Muds. Like in the end of AO?

Mac the Janitor 07-04-2002 04:46 PM

Well, I don't think so.

If they did need the masks to breath, how did they survive in the swamps without the masks?

They have gotten far without the masks...

I think they are just night vision masks. On the Big Bro page it says the masks are night vision, but I don't know about worker class sligs...

I meaned I thought the same as in the post of Oddsville

Kaimana 07-04-2002 05:00 PM

Oh sorry Xavier.

Ok let me clear something up. i heard that sligs can only breath the gas that swamps give off as aresult the maskes support there breathing. is this true or not?:fuzconf:

Xavier 07-04-2002 05:05 PM

If you heard it from sligster it can be it isn't true.
personnaly I never heard before of that

Kaimana 07-04-2002 05:08 PM

ok so if that isnt true then is it safe to say that aside of being swamp dewellers could sligs be seen in trees as well.?:fuzconf:

Xavier 07-04-2002 05:14 PM

It can be a possibility.
I think someone love that theory very much

Kaimana 07-04-2002 05:19 PM

see what i think if you look at the structure of the slig there hands ar very massive and muxcular compared to there body size this may suggest that they could be arboreal using there hands to climb up trees. another theory i thought up was the fact that sligs resemble a good amount of a hermit crab out of its shell so i thought that sligs may take shells from dead creatures and wear it for there own protection. both of these theories could be true.

General Drippik 07-04-2002 08:41 PM

Maybe sligs want to work with the glukkons. Maybe they sit in the forests hoping that the glukkons would come and pick them up. Maybe sligs are born, then shipped to any farm that there is a space available.

Kaimana 07-04-2002 09:16 PM

well from what we know Skillya is the Queen that produces sligs for the Glukkons. However if they were wild i dont think they would want Glukkons to find them. Sligs in the industrial world dont know anything but to serve the Glukkons and of course whatever else they do. I dont believe wild ones would like to live the way the industrial sligs do.

General Drippik 07-05-2002 06:46 AM

You never know. Living out in the forest would be prettyy boring.

Xavier 07-05-2002 09:04 AM

maybe you are bored to stay home.
I think it's a good idea to send you to work in a big factory.
:fuzconf:
nope, I don't think so

Kaimana 07-05-2002 09:55 PM

yes Xavier is right i dont think they would want to work in a factory. when they could be peaceful and left alone in the wild.

General Drippik 07-05-2002 10:23 PM

They don't get to bash or shoot mudokons in the wild do they? These sligs are mean. MEAN I SAY!! MEAN!!!

Kaimana 07-05-2002 10:29 PM

Calm down General. we must remeber that wild Sligs have no influnce to hurt any one thus bashing creatures is not there craving.:fuzblink:

General Drippik 07-05-2002 10:54 PM

MEAN!!

Yeah, I suppose you're right.

Kaimana 07-05-2002 10:58 PM

Hahaha:lol:   :D im sorry but i can just imagine the general yelling MEAN!!! and thenyea i suppose your right. your one funny guy general.:D

General Drippik 07-05-2002 11:45 PM

You think i'm funny? ODDBODD is funny.

MEAN!

Xavier 07-06-2002 03:25 AM

mean? are you shure?
sligs only do what they are asked to.
and they are paid by glukkons; so of cource they are saddists.

Danny 07-06-2002 04:38 PM

I do not believe that Native Sligs live in swamps. I believe that people are misunderstanding OWI here. OWI said that Sligs were descended from slug-like creatures living in swamps. They didn't say that native sligs still lived there. Sligs are descended from Slugs in the same way that Mudokons are descended from Birds, and Native Muds aren't the same as Birds, are they? Can you see what I'm saying here? I agree with Rach and Abby, that Sligs are arboreal creatures.

I have just thought of a new idea as to what the sligs' masks are for. What if they are simply to record and transmit what the sligs are seeing, so that Glukkons can check up on what their employees are up to. If you think about it, that would make it easier to catch employees who break rules or slack off, and it would also mean that they could be quicker to send reinforcements if one of the guards is attacked, as the masks would act as moving security cameras, so the guards wouldn't have to waste time radioing for help. It would also explain why Glukkons are so adamant that sligs should keep their masks on at all times...

Oddsville 07-06-2002 05:20 PM

Yeah thats a good idea Danny but I don't think the Glukkons would spend nearly enough just to see how well a Slig is working. Glukkons couldn't care less about a Sligs work ethic, thats why most Sligs apply for gaurd posts that are really remote, so they can slack off and sleep. Although what you said could be possible?

Kaimana 07-06-2002 05:40 PM

As far as the Arboreal idea goes it is very possible that it is true. And that was my first impression. But there still remains a question of what had enfluenced the wild sligs to do so. I say this because not all species will take to the trees for any old reson. Perhaps there was a time were native sligs were forced to go to the trees because of a natural predator.:fuzconf:

Sl'askia 07-06-2002 05:53 PM

Most likely Kaimana. I know many modern monkeys live in the trees due to that reason.
If you look at a slig without its pants...they are rather small (3 feet tall at the most is my estiament(sp)) and fairly defenceless looking...so the trees seem like a natural place to hide and escape from preditors.

Kaimana 07-06-2002 06:03 PM

yes thank you Dragadon. And yes if you look at a slig (wild one) they are rather defensless wich is why i came to that theory that the find the trees as refuge.

I'm not so sure. If you think about it, the costs of having little cameras fitted would be tiny compared to what they'd make in increased productivity and a faster response time...
