That's my point, burning any orginal cd the artist does not benefit, what don't you understand?

It doesn't cost them anything if somebody copies a CD from a friend they wouldn't have bought from a shop either!

Most of the artist's whose songs are being copied most frequently are hardly being forced into poverty due to pirates. The musicians whom I repect more are those who encourage song trading, as it shows they're in the business for art's sake, not for money.

By the way, what's the standard file sharing program at the moment? Napster and Morpheus don't seem to work well anymore.

Audiogalaxy or Kazaa.

Yes, Leon, but if I just bought the CD, I would have no money left to buy whatever CD I would have bought if I'd copied the first one, so one artist is going to lost the money either way. I simply choose to make the first one lose out instead of the second, because that way I get more CDs. You understand now? It isn't exactly complicated...

Why are you stating the obvious? Look if i copy an orginal cd the artist lose's why? Because I didn’t go out and pay full price for the original cd therefore the artist see's no money, even though I can burn the cd i listen to it free of charge, comprenday?

Dan you seem to be talking about more than 2 cd's here, can you please just make it 2?

For f*ck's sake, pay attention!

Yes, if I copy a CD that I could have bought, the artist in question loses out. BUT the money that I didn't spend on buying that CD will only end up being used to buy another CD, and so THAT artist will gain. If I had just bought the first CD, the second artist would have lost out instead. So one artist is going to lose out either way, so I may as well copy the CD.

Why are you finding this so difficult to understand?

Dan settle down i understand what your saying, your saying if you copyed a cd that artist will lose out right? Then you said but if you did not spend that money on that cd and brought another orginal cd by another artist that artist will gain right? But still there is an artist that is losing out get it?

Then whats the solution? Buy no cd and lose out on everything yourself? I don't see how you argue against Dan right now, I mean you have no point against him. I dont get it, he just has both benefits for himself. Each artist still gets one share, whats so wrong about that?

Yes, but there would be an artist losing out if I bought the first CD, too! How many times do I have to repeat myself?

That cause you would rather save money and burn it.

I've got 60 illegal MP3s of everything under the sun and I have Linkin Park,Limp Bizkit,Papa Roach and some others burned. Apart from that,I've got about 5 "real CD's.

Really, I hate it when you buy a cd, and there is only one or two songs you like!
