what's with these tabloid topics? people are generally crazy. Fanatical followers of religions and cults and trends will succunb to anything in order to accomplish their extreme goals.

i was refering to the second article. Some people seem to believe that we are still living in the middle-ages. It probably just an alibi to get them out of trouble, freedom of religion and all. As for the kid who couldnt count to 100, i knew kids whose parents used to get pissed if they werent the top class in every single thing they did. If someone would get a 97 grade, and someone else would get a 99 grade, that child would get beat up by their own parents. that's pretty fanatical, wouldnt you say?

I know... My mother was disappointed in my GCSE results because I got one B. The rest of them were As and A*s, and a C is the pass mark, but she has such high expectations of me, it's unreal...

You mom should'nt put you on a peddle stole like that. You don't know what you are going to do.

My mom said I need to try my best as long as they are not like below D's. I most of the time get A's and B+'s on regents exams. You have to pass them in order to graduate and go to colleges in New York.

Regents are a waste of time. New York is the only state to require regents, and its really just like a final. And if you cant seem to qualify to take a regent, you can always take the RCT in that subject, which is lame it is so easy. the New York Board of Education sucks to begin with, and if you saw what these RCTs were like you'd agree with me.

Now they are giving these 4th graders so many hard tests and so little people are passing them, what are they trying to prove? That's why I think there should be a centralized education system, but then that would go against states' rights and all. A true flaw with this country.

No, you don't want a RCTs. Regents are stupid but they are a benefit. I mean, if you are taking regents classes, you have to take regents. If you fail them, you take the RCT's. But regents are not hard unless you study and pay attention. Those are dumb, and it's easy because everyone can get them and most colleges respect regents more than RCT's. Those are for stupid people who can't pass a regents. But I pass all mines so I am getting a regents diploma and I'm graduating.
