It's likely to simply be that they have enough to show to the press under NDA, but the game's not yet in a state where they can show it off publicly. So it's more of an exercise in press relations than public marketing - show them something to keep them sweet and get their interest.

Watching that GiantBomb interview. Apparently they didn't expect to have something ready for E3 so it seemed to be a last minute decision to show it off to some people there. Development seems to be a little ahead of schedule atm.

Also, Lorne explained that the Munch PS2 visualisation videos were made to basically pressure their new public trading company to keep their budget intact.

Two observations:

1. Development seems to be a little ahead of schedule whereas Frima Studio was still recruiting for Soulstorm (in april).

2. Munch PS2 footage proves that Lanning's words shouldn't be taken as gospel.

True promotion would be to contact a local brewery and a bottle manufacturer and have them produce a few hundred some genuine SoulStorm Brews. You'd be producing a collectible item that not only looks amazing, but would also become insanely expensive if left unopened on someone's (Crashpunk) shelf over the years.

A bottle of Soulstorm wine/brandy...something that matures if left in the bottle. Now that's a plan, Havoc!
