Jesus, 30%? That's more than I expected, or hoped.

Holy Sock : I see. But can't you be against the "yes" from a left wing perspective ? Also, Lanning is an American so he must have other fish to fry.
Please let's not have a political debate.
Identifying yourself with only one political side is basically like admitting you're wrong.
Identifying with a political view is ok, but blindly following it is stupid.
Blind mudokons are obviously an allegory for people who blindly follow 'blue' (Republican) demagogues and are regularly brought into harms way, be that from reduction in healthcare, gun reform, or simply from being led into deadly meat grinders.

I hope they don't ever work with the likes of microsoft and EA, those guys usually ruin games for profit. Wish I was a publisher I would publish this game.
(Damn, the last time i logged into these forums was 2008 :o) |
wooooah a new girl who isn't actually new
Voodoo : do you have a state job ?
a state job?
Don't mind vlam. I think it's safe to say EA will never publish an oddworld game again. Also welcopme back.
After what happened to SW, Lorne wouldn't go near EA with a 10 foot pole.
I think OWI will self produce the future Oddworld titles but get outside help from other companies. Maybe even JAW again? Wishful thinking I know. I guess it will remain a mystery unless Lorne tells what's up. |
Is it not just a numbers thing? Did NnT shift any units?
I think this whole 'remake a game in HD on the cheap!' approach only works for games that were universally loved and were sure to stand the test of time. And I'm not sure Abe's Oddysey was either. |
Well NnT shipped enough to make them plan for Abe's Exoddus HD. So my guess the sales had nothing to do with it. But it's an interesting point.

Apart from the kinda shit Steam port of Oddysee. Yeah, The Abe games have aged really well in my opinion.
I can't really say much about Steam port quality. AO & AE have always worked perfectly on my PC with no additional work. And I can't say that about many 1997-1998 games.
Is the Steam port even worse than the original PC release?
Original AO PC release had ABEWIN.exe and ABEDOS.exe and could be ran on both OSes. You certainly can't run Steam AO from DOS.
They also came with special perfomance modes... ...which were just shortcuts with additional command line parameter to enable/disable interlines. Also, a Windows 95 theme with animated Abe cursors, icons and hi resolution 640x480 RF wallpaper. |
thanks.
I wish i could play steam AO/AE in window mode. I heard you can but not sure how to do it. And apparently I have to download something special to use controller with it also. |
try running it with "-windowed" or "-window" parameter. Steam supports running games with command line parameters.
If that won't work, you won't be able to run it in a window without a special app or file for that. Why do you want it to run in a window anyway? |
I doubt the Steam release of AO is a new port. It's just the same AbeWin.exe from the disk release, or close enough that it might as well be. It has some compatibility problems for some people, but for the most part it should run fine on any OS.
I have never had any luck running AO or AE with the -window(ed) parameter, even though I'm fairly sure it's valid. People have used a program called DxWnd in the past, give that a look. edit: Speedy. Do you really need XPadder to use a controller in AO? It supports them out the box and I'm sure I've set one up before no worries. |

That's a fair reason. I was worried you wanted to try windowed because the image was being stretched to widescreen or something.
