@Vlam, OWI has recently outsourced the Exoddus remake to EA games. I believe there is a company acquisition taking place. Some new features EA included are paying to open a bird portal to gain Mudokon points to spend on the new in game spooce garden that grows in real time.
|
That's so like Lorne.
|
:
The subtext of my question was whether JAW would make the AE game or if that relationship had cooled and OWI intended to work with a different dev. |
That would make the two games kind of inconsistent. AE is supposed to be like disc 2 and 3 of Oddysee.

Yes, if it is true, shouldn't one be worried about Oddworld's future ?
By the way, do you guys remember "Stranger Arena" ? What happened to it ? |

AE is, like, the sequel to AO
|
He means that AE isn't suppose to be part of the quintology.

Well I know Stewart Gilray isn't involved in Oddworld anymore since he said as much on Twitter a while back.
|
I dunno. There's no evidence of JAW and OWI not working with each other. JAW's Twitter still actively retweets OWI, and OWI is still listed as one of their clients on their website. Plus I don't see a reason to. I think it's safe to say NnT was a success.
It's probably just a gap of no news to report. |
Such sarcasm
Edit: I see CP has toned down the sarcasm. |
Now the "AE's remake is planned" of OWI_Alex makes sense : they haven't found a new company to make the game yet.
Is it also why the guys of JAW suddenly disappear from OWF ? |
God I hope your wrong...

Yes, but apparently he works for OWI, not JAW.
|
:
I remember a long while ago when Gilray said there were no plans to work on anything Oddworld for the immediate future, but I assumed he was just waiting to see how well "New 'n' Tasty" performed before moving ahead with anything new. |
In game development u dont just start the next project as soon as one is finished. Id wager up to a quarter of the development time is just planning itself. Devs experiment alot during the planning stages.
|
This was shortly after NnT's release mind you.
|
He does only mention himself though.
I dont know how big JAW is as a whole but even indie devs have been known to tackle multiple endeavors at once. |
JAW has been split between multiple projects in the past. They’ve recently been working on the PS4/Vita ports of Volume and the PS4 port of I Am Bread. That doesn’t mean they’ve left Oddworld, just that Stewart and part of the team are working elsewhere right now.
