I don't play Smash bros that much, but i still voted for Abe! Its getting Abe's name out to a larger audience which is important. Not the fact that you don't like the game smh.

Possessing wouldn't work well imo, but explosive farts could be cool, as well as grenades and obviously the slap featured in Exoddus.
