Congenital brain condition ahoy
|
There is no better anime than Lucky Star.
|
Okay so I finished it and that is the most depressing end to anything I have ever seen.
|
Clearly never watched Mirai Nikki.
|
So here's something interesting.
There's a show airing called Shirobako about making anime. It's great but that's a story for another post (Literally. I mentioned it on the first page). The important thing about Shirobako is it has a high degree of realism and fantastic attention to detail. Today they released a salary guide showing how much different members of the staff get paid. http://i.imgur.com/UK8d5cm.png Updated with translations and conversions. (The character on the far right is literally modeled off Tamura Yukari [Nanoha, Rika etc etc]. Voiced by her and everything) |
:
It wasn't nearly as depressing as Nana, though. |
Best two depressing ends I've seen in animu:
Texhnolyze Everyone dies. Literally everyone. Absolutely everyone. Shiki Humans vs Vampires. Nobody wins Both of these shows are very very good. Shiki in particular is one of the few competent horror anime there are and has one jump scare. |
I shall give Shiki a watch.
In other news I am on episode 11 of SAO, and while 9 has been my favourite on so far, 10 was a piece of shit. Why did Asuna just pretend to be that girl's mother and why was Kirito okay with it? I stopped watching there because it annoyed me. |
Because by this point the author was living vicariously through his Mary Sue and he needed a daughteru to go with his waifu for the full family experience?
Also I'm glad you hated 10. If you're considering carrying on with it, you should know all SAO villains are basically Kuradeel. It's terrible. |
I realise that it's just probably going to get worse from here so I'm just going to leave it there. Why did such a cool concept have to be wasted on such mediocrity?
|
I still haven't seen SAO 2, but the villains never felt good.
|
The villain of the first half is basically Oberon again. The villains of Accel World are all rapey entitled men too. Kawahara cannot write good villains.
|
Nor good protagonists apparently.
|
Log Horizon uses the same basic premise as SAO. The start is a bit slow and the production itself isn't as polished (Though I'd argue with a weaker composer they actually get the better tracks out) but it's a really good fun story with very likeable characters. Recommended.
Everyone loves the OP too. Also the second half of SAO S2 is just Asuna having slighly gay adventures with a cute spunky girl who is blind, bedridden and dying from congenital HIV offline and I don't hate that premise. The OP is adorable as heck and while I'd never dream of recommending SAO to anyone ever (The first half of S2 was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with anime) it may be worth my time yet! |
I used to watch a lot of animes including Bleach, Elfen Lied, Death Note and One Piece. The animes I've watched all the way through are Full Metal Alchemist, Dragonball Z and I'm currently watching Naruto Shippuden. Recently I also watched all of Hakuoki which is a series based on a visual novel videogame. I watch most of them on Crunchyroll now, mainly for convenience.

So I am thinking of doing madoka magika for my next anime, thoughts ?
|
I couldn't get into Madoka but I have been meaning to give it a rewatch. I'd say go for it.
I watched the first two episodes of Black Butler. They good. |
Madoka is a very good show. Go into it as blind as you possibly can. You do not want a heads up on what is going to happen.
|
I hate magical girl shows and I enjoyed Madoka. Just don't ever watch the newest movie.
|
Phylum really lost his head over it.
|
And now it's in his avatar, with the same expression it wore as it watched the film.
|
It's surprisingly accurate for my face during the last 2/3rds.
|
Hey
Hey Phylum Yeah you Hey Ai yo hey~ |
Hi
Ikuhara saved anime again Bye (Just to be safe NSFW) |
I watched Attack On Titan in the summer and found it an incredibly enjoyable experience. Call it over hyped, call it what you will, but sometimes good things are just good things. And I'm quite excited if also a little anxious to see the direction the movie takes
Oh and Scarlett Johanssen is set to star in a live action Ghost In The Shell movie, so I guess that's something to look out for. Here's hoping it turns out to be atleast somewhat decent, as anime to live action films have never been done to any great quality. |
People like Speed Racer, but GITS movie will be terrible.
