What dd she replace everyone's chair with a treadmill?
|
Nope, she managed to have Microsoft sending some of their people over to OWI in order to have the workforce and expertise required to have the game launchable at the console's launch time.
I agree that the quality of the game is not what we would expect of an Oddworld game. Yet when you take into account the constraints OWI had to face at that moment it was quite a feat to get it out of the door on time. So yes, she saved MO. Oh and SoulStorm64, that was absolutely uncalled for, you seem to have no idea of the work she put into this company. |
So what? It was a joke.

Let's not ship it now? Let's just waste what we have done? Let's break the contract and trust we currently have with our publisher? Let's blow all our chances of making any kind of money on this thing and kill all our chances of ever making a game again? How does that ever work? |
Nepsotic is clearly trolling. We should all ignore his statements in this thread.

Unhappiness.

Aww nobody can take a harmless Joke

Nevertheless, this isn't an MO thread, so whatever. |

On topic, I never get tired of hearing new renditions of the EA story from Lorne's interviews.! |

Fangus Yeah, I ran out of fingers. :

citizen seige SW mobile SW arena we've already gone over one hand. |

I'm actually curious to know what devs' opinion on MO is. At what point during development did somebody realise that they wouldn't have the time or funds to complete the game they initially intended? Theoretically it would be fairly early on, it was quite an ambitious project. I just can't understand why they'd stick to it. |
:
I'm willing to let you argue that precisely one of these is allowed to count. :P :
I know Lorne has called it a heartbreak. But it takes a comfortable position or a horrible disaster to outright drop something like that, and whatever your personal feelings about Munch's Oddysee, whatever the prevailing opinion in the community may feel like, it sold well, got good reviews, and I talk to fans all the time who loved it and can't wait to play it more. You work your hardest to make it the best despite the circumstances, and hey, maybe someone will remaster it in years to come. |
You mean remake?
|
Not this shit again.
|
Loose as your mum's pussy.
HA. Seriously though I guess she means saved it a la it still came out. |
I think you missed a page.
|
I think you missed your... mum's pussy? Is that how you do it, guys?
|
The release of MO had a perverse effect : the next games (except SW, which isn't part of the quintology) will be as goofy. Look at AO remake (which is a a mix between AO and MO's tone, it was why the fans weren't happy). So with MO release, we got a bad game and a cartoon trend.
And Nepsotic is right : Lanning always get away with everything (remember Citizen Siege ?). MO : "bouh-ouh it's the fault of the bad guys, EA and Microsoft". |
All I wanted to do was make a pussy joke. Thanks a lot, Lorne.
|
Why the fans weren't happy? There has been some displeasure over tone but fan reaction on NnT seems to have been very positive in general.
