I've played bass since I was about 14 and I currently play in a 50's 60's and 70's pub cover band with a bunch of guys about twice my age. It's better than cashier work or something though. I've been playing guitar for about 2 years now also, and I've recently began attempting to sing in the past few months, I think in a few years I'll improve. I needed a new hobby anywho.

I finally listened to one of OANST's tracks and wow. I'm impressed. To be fair, most things can impress me, but still, good job.

Today I learned OANST used to be the singer for a pseudo-progressive-nu-Tool-lite brand alt metal band that almost opened for Fear Factory.

Today was a good day, and defied all my expectations.

The third song we recorded is awwwwwwful. I fought tooth and nail to not record it, but they basically told me that we were going to record that one, or the one that I hated even more than it. I chose the lesser of the two evils.

How do you even manage to end up in a band full of people that hate each other

I'm assuming you all came together at will, so there had to be some sort of common ground there

They were acquaintances of mine. They heard some of the stuff I was doing without them, and wanted me in the band, throwing out their old singer in the process. We just ended up hating each other. I was basically just giving them what I thought they wanted, without having any real interest in it.

I still think it's odd that they wanted me at all. This is what I was making at the same time I was in that band: (This one is all me, by the way)

I was actually thinking, I'd love to get some people together and do some post-rock music. Unfortunately I don't know any violinists or celloists any more.

I'm an average-ish guitarist, I try to record stuff from time to time but I always find trouble overdubbing or doing multiple parts cuz my rhythm isn't that good.

I do. I don't have much to share unfortunately, only a few old demos made in garageband with drum loops.

I play a fuckton of instruments but haven't mastered any of them, but I reeeally love performing and haven't gotten a chance to since 8th grade AND SO I AM SAD. Sometimes I make music very poorly like these: x / x / x / x / x / x

Okay so...my microphone does not agree with G string. Admittedly this is really tentative and there are a whole arse tonne of mistakes. Also I didn't bother keeping to any one timing so it's pretty shit.

Besides that, this is (half of) Malaguena, a piece I could play when I was 11 absolutely flawlessly. I'd love to be able to play it right, I'll have to put more practice in.
