So today I read an article on BBC news talking about the copyrights being revoked on The Redskins by the US Patent Bureau. In the comments I saw people saying about how this was PC nonsense and all that. So I thought, hey I'll come out in support of sanity.

Basically I equated having a team named Redskins to openly calling black people niggers, and that both were bad things. Any way the comment was promptly removed by one of the website moderators, presumably because I didn't write n*gger or something. Obviously the idea behind my comment couldn't have flown higher over their head.

That also brings up a point, why is writing n*gger fine but nigger is offensive? The connotations of the word are terrible regardless of whether or not you stick a fucking asterisk in there.

The point is, if a minority group is under-performing in society, take a look at how they are treated in society before you write them off as lesser.

If you hold someone down, they can't walk. But that is conditional on their situation, they are not handicapped. The reasoning of the racist would insist that they are handicapped. And that if they lash out, it's because they are inherently criminal.

More and more, I come to the conclusion that believing in religion is an absolutely bat shit thing to do, and that the people who believe it should no longer be coddled by people worried about hurting their feelings. It's like letting someone walk into an algebra exam thinking that 7 multiplied by 2 is 9. It's not the responsible, or nice thing to do.

I don't hate them, or even dislike them. If I did I wouldn't bother telling them. It's compassion that creates the need to tell them. And I desire to live in a better society that doesn't promote bigotry based on outdated ideologies.

There are actually no eye witness accounts of Jesus in the Bible, strangely enough. Or anywhere else. In any historical document. Ever.

Saul of Tarsus is the only account that comes close to being an eye witness. And he saw Jesus well after his "death," and while he was struck blind while traveling on the road with a large group of people who saw nothing. So, yeah. No eye witness accounts.
