Now I feel like dragged into this so I'll throw in my two cents.

First of all I want to apologize the rant in your Facebook thread, Crashpunk, you know what I'm talking about.

Moving on, I really think the situation here must come to an end. I don't like the way things are going, and I feel sorry for kapteeni13 since he is a long time buddy. Maybe he overdid by writing that review about OWF, but I agree with him about the 60%.

Maybe his English is not good, but mind if I ask all you a question? Aren't we supposed to accept people beyond their religion, culture, country... and grammar, especially in a forum? Where people gather to discuss about a subject or spend some happy social time in a virtual enviroment? I was in his same situation, my language wasn't great back then, I still think I can improve a lot, so I'm standing up for himself.

And as I recently spoke with Lukasade, I quote myself here:
I didn't like this forum to be honest, and I still not liking it, but I'm not here to review it, but to let you understand that a joke or two may be "okay", but like we say in Italy: "Il gioco è bello finché dura poco" (A game is good till doesn't last too long). Don't claim to joke around or pick on newcomers and then be astonished when they review this forum as "evil", "corrupted" and so on.

Can you agree with that? Can we all get along nicely? Can you accept foreigners as part of "the family"?

I personally cannot remember the last time a foreign person was made fun of for their spelling ability on this forum beyond a light jab (Especially if they're a regular like Varrok). I mean, hell, a good portion of our regulars have English as their second language. They stuck. It's not fair to look down at someone for their bad English, but it's also not fair to demonize a community for perceived slights. Nobody here holds anyone any ill-will, except OANST, and we really don't give a shit about his opinions anymore.

Thanks for your reply. This has recently brought to my attention since my friend was quite sad these days and he is always relating the problem to this forum. He feels "bullied", and personally, I said him to ignore the forum but the matter is still going.

I'm here in quality of his "spokeperson". He keeps telling me that some people here (I don't name and shame) like to make fun of him. Sure, maybe kapteeni should come here and say it by himself, but giving that he is like having a hard time and this drives him crazy, I thought I could help him in some manner.

I'm genuinely confused because outside of that one time in the music thread I can't even remember anyone from the forum seriously attacking or picking on him, and even then it was more of a heated, brief argument than anything.

I'm a bit bothered because I think he took something I said the wrong way considering he's blocked me from his fb page, deleted all of my posts, and removed me from other places I had contact with him on. No, I wasn't particularly close with him, but it's still kind of odd to me?

The thing that sparked his review was noone posting in his birthday thread, which is funny because his last post here was in February. I'm fairly sure half of the forum don't even know who he is.

I'm bored so I took a look back. Other than Ridg3 calling a band he posted garbage, the music thing was pretty tame. It's about what I'd expect from any music thread on a forum with moderators that don't delete everything/ban everyone.

But see that makes even less sense since 6 people did post in his birthday thread

For his level of activity the fact that he got a birthday thread at all is pretty strange

While we're at it, I wouldn't really mind if somebody pointed out when e.g. I repeat a certain mistake over and over again unwillingly

Kapteeni. It's obviously that you have a strong dislike to the forums and you feel bullied. Ignoring whatever happened in the past, I can ensure you nobody on here is making fun of you or your language. For starters, your not very active here, so not many people know you. I've said this before, I think the whole thing is a misunderstanding, not understanding in-jokes and slight jokes tossed around that don't mean anything. Hell, I'm from England and a big in joke around me is I can't spell - or 'Cun't Spill'

I had my reasons of posting your review. I wanted members to see it and I wanted to let them know what someone thinks of our forum. Especially calling this place 'evil'.
I get your unhappy with me because I posted it on our Facebook but. Reviews are meant to be seen and it wasn't exactly private to begin with.

However. The fact you feel bullied and even asked me "do I accept bullying?" all because of me posting your review... makes me feel like shit. I feel so fucking guilty. Maybe I should be, I dunno. I did technically start all this and I want to help end it. I had no idea it would spread this far.

Nate suggested on FB, if you have any concerns go to him or the other moderator. They are here to help.

This is the last time I'll speak about it. Hopefully we can move on and just continue being Oddworld fans :)

You guys know this is just an internet forum right? It's not that big a deal if people hundreds or thousands of miles away do or don't get on with you. Not gonna lie I don't even know who Kapteeni is.

I was largely indifferent towards kapteeni, but now I find out he's been harassing Chris I like him a lot less. Isn't guilt-tripping a form of bullying?
