Then again, it's been years since I've seen said materials so I could be wrong. |
The Stranger part was, yes, which you can see on the page :P Wrath of the Wild is all new.

Sorry for the double post, but I've added 4 new images showing more of the debugging text that can appear. They are currently 4 of the last 5 images on this page.
http://ptoponline.com/?p=1373&page=9#screenshots http://ptoponline.com/wp-content/gal...tranger1/2.jpg Still no access to the debug menu itself, but Ill be digging out a USB keyboard adapter at some point to test out that theory. More importantly though, I've added an image showing that there is, at least, rudimentary multi-player support. I say multi-player and not multiplayer because I haven't found evidence yet of any actual multiplayer mode (although I have my hunches), and functionality is limited to the second controller controlling the character. But I still think it is fairly interesting! http://ptoponline.com/wp-content/gal...r1/2player.jpg |
I always wanted to see a third-person view of Stranger fighting with his crossbow the way you do in first person. There must be a pose for the model because you see it in the shadow. Can you find such a thing in this version?
|
Sadly that isn't the case. As with many first person shooters, Stranger's Wrath tries to optimize things as much as possible. What that means in this case is that when you are using the crossbow, it renders only what you see, not an entire body model. What you get as a result is this:

That's still pretty cool.
|
I can live with that
|
Havent forgotten about you guys! Turns out the game does have quite the debug menu hiding in there.

Looking at that gives me the urge to pull that spin punch.
|
I assume the TownfolkKids are the ones with the backpacks? Were they actually in the game anywhere? I don't recognise them.
|
In the scene where Stranger escapes from Casteraider’s hideout and passes through a Clakker town, there’s a bus with a number of Clakker children just outside it. I can’t remember if they use those same models though; I seem to remember them looking more like nuns?

:
Really though, I think that crowd would look a bit better with a Boombat right in the middle. |
I request that this thread's title be changed to Stranger: Wrath of Wil.
|
Small update for the day, didn't get to writing the main meat of the debugging feature :)

This is really awesome stuff. Great job Dude!
I notice, as you've spawned all those random Clakkers in the village... would it be possible to spawn, say, a group of Wolvarks and Outlaws and just create the biggest battle Oddworld has ever seen? Edit: By which I mean, against Stranger. I know it's unlikely the Wolvarks would recognise the Outlaws existence and interact with them. :
That, and I think with vehicles like that, it looks like the Clakkers could realistically be the consumers of the Industrialist products seen in all four games. And the only thing that really bugged me about Stranger was it's seeming lack of connection to the culture that had already been established in the previous games. Anyone know why they were replaced for the bog-standard trailers? |
Mmmm nice haha :D
