Ain, those mountains are beautiful. Have you conquered any of them yet?

Scrabface, did you do all your Europe cities in one trip? Or in lots of little holidays?

This summer I backpacked across Japan for 7 weeks. I did most of the major cities (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Sapporo, Kobe), as well as places like Nagasaki (where I lived for a year), Aomori, Towada-ko, Nara, Izu, Nagoya, and Takayama. I met a French guy in Nagano and about 10 days later we climbed Fuji. Which was awesome.

When I lived in Nagasaki, I went to Fukuoka, and the surrounding towns like Sasebo. And I've been to Tokyo a lot with my university.

I've been to Paris in France, Orlando & Miami in Florida, Hong Kong, and Cancun in Mexico. Cancun was beautiful. Coming from a nasty seaside town in England, to a beautiful caribbean sea was amazing.

I put together a research proposal for my university and I'm hoping they'll send me to Nepal next May. ^_^

lots of little holidays. backpacking through Japan, that must be amazing.

I went with an exboyfriend and we were visiting some of his family/having a holiday. We went to Victoria Peak, and around the Harbour. We did alot of touristy stuff like the Avenue of Stars, Ocean Park, and the Clock Tower. Because he spoke Cantonese we did all the markets and went to alot of really cool little restaurants. I'd really like to go back and see Kowloon, and Cheung Po Tsai Cave though.

Well...I did take a trip to Canada once but still ended up lunching at a Burger King so that hardly counts. :(

I haven't been anywhere near any borders or anything. I mean, technically I've been close to the Canadian border but I've never actually been in Canada so

It kinda counts.

Plus Murika is so big, you can go from the desert to an arctic tundra by hopping across a few states. It still counts.

Unless you've been confined to bumfuck nowhere like Kansas. Then it doesn't count.

Ah well, I guess it's a pity you pretty much have to hop across yet another mammoth-sized country to get to the tundra bits.

I don't use to do that, but my father did when he was younger. He conquered many! You should come to Italy if you really like climbing. eheh :)

That's like saying I haven't been outside of Europe. The USA is insanely large, traveling around that country alone is about the same as traveling around Europe.

Hell, my entire country would fit inside Texas like 16 times...

I recently went to Liverpool to sort out a slight hiccup with my passport details, and I hated it. Even coming from what I can only describe as Deep Yorkshire, I found their accents incomprehensible and the efforts to modernise the city only lead to every other building looking like an architect's fever dream.

AIN, it's on my bucket list. But my university decided to fund my Nepal trip so Italy will have to wait another year.

I once visited Italy, where I was approached by a wide variety of beggars and salesmen of useless shit. The latter especially I used as practice for my callous cold-shoulder tactics.
I visited Rome, and while I was there, went down to see Pompei, for which I had to go to Naples first, which wasn't really a pretty sight - it's interesting probably from a political and sociological standpoint (I assume - I didn't look into it much). I learnt while I was in Rome that two medieval villages were destroyed to make the entrance of the vatican bigger and more impressive - obviously the catholics loved their fellow humans.

Tell me if you're ever coming to Turin (the city in the pic I posted in this thread and where I live) :)
