Any doubts I had in Sony have been completely obliterated after that conference hot damn

Strike Witch 06-10-2013 07:14 PM

Not really any games I was particularly interested in, but hey, it's cheaper.

Hazel-Rah 06-10-2013 07:22 PM

Too many indie games and Japanese RPGs for me,a little disapointing that I need PS+ to play online now and I was really hoping to see LBP3 tonight but I still want Killzone and Infamous and the price is a lot lower than I expected!

Steamer_KING 06-10-2013 07:49 PM

So much goodies this E3...oh man...I think I'm gonna have an heart attack...

Apparently the slide with the price was only finalised after the Microsoft announcement. :D

I also liked how Sony kicked the boot in to the Xbox regarding always-online and used games.

None of the games announced today were must-haves for me. But the PS4 ones definitely looked a hell of a lot more interesting.

Also, how many of the games announced at the Xbox talk were exclusives? I wasn't paying full attention, but it didn't seem like many.

Daxter King 06-10-2013 08:41 PM

As far as games go, MS won handily. Missed the Sony conference, but read some recaps. Sony has the edge of being $100 cheaper certainly, though. And of course if you are affected by the whole used games/DRM thing, Sony gotacha there. I was going to not make this post because I remembered about Nintendo no doing their's yet, but lolnintendo.

More than what Sony showed, that is for sure:

MS X1 exclusives:
Kinect Sports Rivals
Killer Instinct
Sunset Overdrive
Quantum Break
Forza 5
Ryse
Below
Spark
D4
Halo 5
Blacktusk Untitled Project
Dead Rising 3-Might only be timed
Titanfall- Might only be timed

Sony:
1886
Killzone
Driveclub
FFXV
Dark Sorcerer
Knack

Price and DRM aside, MS did kill Sony with the games this year.

Hazel-Rah 06-10-2013 09:13 PM

MS should have an Xbone sku w/o Kinect for $400

Phylum 06-10-2013 09:29 PM

Sony ftw

There are more than 140 games in development for PlayStation 4 between first and third-party developers, Jack Tretton said during Sony's E3 press conference.

SCE Worldwide Studios has 30 games in development for the next-gen console, 12 of which are new intellectual properties, according to a press release from Sony. Out of the 30 games in development, 20 will release in the console's first 12 months.

Sony also revealed that the number of PlayStation developers has increased from 126 to 505 since its February announcement.

More than 100 will be available in the console's first year, Tretton said.

Sony ftw

Christ, it's like Mega Drive versus SNES all over again.

STM 06-11-2013 02:53 AM

I love that I can get all the information I need about E3 from this thread alone. So far the only thing non-Oddworld related that has piqued my interest is Mirrors Edge 2, I'm not really a gamer though so I suppose most of it is going to seem a little dull to me any way.

That being said, the primary thing the game's market needs right now is competition, anyone with an ounce of economic sense will understand that. One hundred and forty in dev games for the PS4 in one year is pretty fucking good for that.

Vyrien 06-11-2013 03:05 AM

I'm just pleased Sony pulled its finger out of its arse this time around.

MeechMunchie 06-11-2013 03:29 AM

If anyone wants to see Lorne looking smug.

STM 06-11-2013 03:49 AM

Look at him, waving and smiling.

Dynamithix 06-11-2013 05:52 AM

Well, I did end up watching Ubisoft's conference last night and boy did that suck. CG trailer after CG trailer. CG trailer for Rayman. Why. Why. The new gameplay of Rayman Legends looked pretty cool though and the new Tom Clancy game, Division, looked very interesting. Everything else was pretty shit, can't comment on the new driving game (The Crew?) as I did not really pay attention to that part.

Sony's conference was quite good, but I wished they would've shown more games. They completely ripped on Microsoft's online policies and that was fun to watch. Destiny played a bit like Borderlands, it was pretty neat. The price was a pleasant surprise.

Bring on Nintendo direct, yay.

V_O_T 06-11-2013 06:48 AM

So the Nintendo conference showed New n Tasty on the Wii U. They also showed a bit of a cut scene from when abe is shocked after he found out about muds being the meat. Looked pretty good :) Glad to see its going to other consoles too.

Strike Witch 06-11-2013 07:12 AM

Megaman! Megaman!

...wait, who cares about Megaman?

MeechMunchie 06-11-2013 07:28 AM

OANST used to.

I'm going to hope that was before Megaman 9.

A LOT of people apparently.

Nintendo have really impressed me. I know Nintendo stick to IPs but c'mon, all their titles look stunning. Smash Bros alone is making me want to buy a Wii U right now.

Jordan 06-11-2013 07:53 AM

I'm not too sure how I feel about the new Smash Bros. game. The trailer was really cool but so far it just looks like Brawl, but I think it's too early to make a judgement because they haven't revealed any new mechanics yet. Looking forward to seeing more new challengers. So far I've been really impressed with what I've seen!

Daxter King 06-11-2013 10:23 AM

Nothing can really convince me a Wii U is worth it at this point, I'd rather get a 3DS.

Steamer_KING 06-11-2013 11:29 AM

On the Microsoft side, Killer Instinct, Below and Spark really were interesting, the rest is more of the same. On Sony's side, RAIN and The Order were really great for me. Also, The Division looked divine...seriously great. Megaman on Smash Bros. That was a neat addition, looking forward to it. And finally, as of now, MGSV. Boy oh boy, 2013/2014 are gonna be great years for players.

Daxter King 06-11-2013 11:48 AM

Yeah, The Division I hope will end up being something special, but it's hard to trust Ubisoft not to fuck it up in some way at this point.

Steamer_KING 06-11-2013 12:30 PM

I'm keeping my hopes very moderate for both The Division and Watch_Dogs. UBISOFT tends to fuck up out of the blue.

Hazel-Rah 06-11-2013 01:28 PM

After the SSB and Cat Mario presentations I'm pretty much set on getting a Wii U, probably going to get one next time I get paid. am I the only one super impressed with SSb's graphics? I can't stop looking at the screenshots, it looks like a pixar film!

STM 06-11-2013 02:38 PM

Cuberpunk 2077 could be interesting. Because Cyperpunk. Trailer gave almost nothing away. Still, gonna be dope, tho.

I really hope so. Really do.

STM 06-11-2013 11:56 PM

So this happened:

Phylum 06-12-2013 03:31 AM

I think the Final Fantasy XV trailers look interesting, but I'm not sold on them. I like the idea of a Kingdom Hearts inspired battle system in a more serious setting. I was concerned but how scripted parts of the combat gameplay looked, but I though the same thing about parts of Kingdom Hearts 3D and couldn't have been more wrong. This game was produced alongside KH3D, and they shared lots of ideas between them so hopefully the same things apply.
