In the interests of longevity, I suppose we should come up with some other questions. Erm...

:

The 4th sentence (i.e. the one before the 4th full-stop) of page 45 of the 4th nearest book (no magazines etc.) to you will determine the manner in which you will die. Discount books without page numbers or fewer than 4 sentences on that page from your count.
I keep all my page number-less childrens' books at this end, so this is more like book number 10.

:

I rang the bell.

Great! Looks like I'm either falling out of a belfry or getting punched out by an irate houseowner.

Wil 05-13-2013 02:27 PM

The manner in which I will die?

:

She saw a large, circular, silver-looking dome moving up and down and sideways.
Well there we go then.

MeechMunchie 05-13-2013 02:29 PM

Alien abduction; death by probing.

Vyrien 05-13-2013 02:33 PM

:

In later days, the blatant displaying of a four-fingered hand gesture, intentionally directed at another, came to mean that you were calling that person a member of the meat packing subclass.

Oh dear.

MeechMunchie 05-13-2013 02:37 PM

Maybe cancel that Japan trip.

But I wasn't ready for it.

No shit Sherlock.

Steven: If someone gives you a bed for the night, you take it, my friend.

So I'm either going to die in my sleep or whilst having Sex. Or maybe I'll get stabbed whilst I'm alseep, Who knows.

Karl: Have you ever, Steve, killed a fly?

Am I a fly? Or will somebody kill me because I kill a fly?

Leclare suddenly gave a great cough and started to struggle upright.

I take it that delicious brains will feature prominently in my future.

Havoc 05-13-2013 03:45 PM

This thread seriously disappoints. I will have no part in this.

Bullet Magnet 05-13-2013 03:52 PM

Why?

Nate 05-13-2013 08:57 PM

I'm at work now and pulled out the Neural Networks journal that is closest to me

Sex life:
:

As in all ART models, a speech or language resonance develops when bottom-up signals that are activated by environmental events interact with top-down expectations, or prototypes, that have been learned from prior experiences
So, I'm going to have some flip-flop action with a manslut. I can deal with that.

The fourth nearest book to me (not including the journals, as they count as magazines) is Applying UML and Patterns by Craig Larman.

:

Therefore, we will need a mechanism to provide this flexibility and customization.

Not really all that informative, then.

Crashpunk 05-13-2013 10:10 PM

Havoc doesn't own any books.

Oddey 05-13-2013 10:59 PM

"Ask me who I was."
Not that enlightening. Presumably it means that people will wonder who I am. And I'll only wish I could respond that way. Not that great.

MeechMunchie 05-13-2013 11:21 PM

Five quid says it was A Christmas Carol.

Oddey 05-14-2013 12:11 AM

You'd be five quid richer MM.

Planet Tad by Tim Carvell. I had nothing to do but draw pictures of blind chameleons. (it then shows a doodle of a chameleon with a cane and seeing eye dog)

The book. My Shit Life So Far is Frankie Boyle's autobiography. I'm assuming the closest book to you is one you are reading and asking you if it is any good.

Shit, my bad for being retarded.

It's good. And funny, but it isn't an autobiography as such. He tells you at the start that it's mostly lies and riddled with plagiarism with only a few truths here and there. But it still is a fun book to read. Have you read his other book, Work, Consume, Die?

Unbeelievable.

Are you planning on becoming (or revealing that you already are) bee-sexual? Or are we using the phrase 'gummy resin' in a euphemistic sense?

STM 05-15-2013 04:06 AM

Whatever works best for you.

Bullet Magnet 05-15-2013 08:35 AM

I think you should try it, STM. Let us know if it's worth pursuing.

bee-sexual

I invented that. Just wanted to let everyone know.

Whatever works best for you.

Well, what works best for me is you in my bedroom, nude and coated in gummy resin.

I'll lay down a tarpaulin.

I invented that. Just wanted to let everyone know.

You really didn't.

Bullet Magnet 05-16-2013 12:24 AM

The correct term would be melissosexual

Sounds hot. I'll bring the resin.

Or, apissosexual, since I get off to all honey bees and not just Mellifera, I don't discriminate, man.
