Halo 4's campaign wasn't my favourite.
The multiplayer more than makes up for it, though. |

I say this as someone who doesn't care much for FPSes and thus hasn't posted what he thinks of Halo. |
nate what are your thoughts on halo

Mirrors Edge, Portal and Bioshock are far too different to compare.
|
All of those games are too different to compare, even with Halo.
|
I dunno about Quake 3. I mean, it's the standard I judge pretty much every FPS I play by.
The only one that came close was Unreal Tournament. |
E: Nevermind.

e: although to be fair I have no idea what Quake’s campaign is like. |

EDIT: Well, shit. Basically what WOF said. |
I remember Quake 3 as a wonderful game to play multiplayer, the campaign was not memorable in the slightest but then, I may be seeing things through nostalgia glasses.
Haven't played Halo 4 yet. I am a little bit cautious simply because I thought Halo 3 was supposed to conclude the series and Bungie aren't developing. The first posts have restored a little of my confidence in it however. |

All the reviews I’ve read also say either they get Halo better than Bungie or are at least competent enough to make a game as well as Bungie.
So, either way that’s reassuring. e: What the hell are Bungie doing with themselves nowadays anyway? |
From the looks of it they are developing for tablets and smartphones now.

What happened was Microsoft wanted to keep Halo going, and a part of Bungie wanted to stay with the project and the rest were over it. So the ones who were done with the whole thing are Bungie, and the ones who continue to make Halo for Microsoft are 343.
Also, a bunch of staff from Retro Studios (Metroid Prime) helped out with Halo 4, which explains a few stylistic and level design elements. |

Knowing that Retro Studios helped with Halo 4 makes me wanna play it even more. Metroid Prime is amazing.

Didn't Giger help with level design on H4? I remember hearing that somewhere, where I heard it I forget though.

On Halo 4... The game is alright. There are alot of design choices that ruin the game for me, such as the new alien appearances and MC's armor and a few others. There are also some sound issues during cut scenes which are killing the mood as well. Game play is pretty much the same as it has always been, not that i was expecting a whole lot of new features. Haven't tried multiplayer yet. I'll give that a go after i beat the campaign. |
My main problem is with how rapidly weapons disappear when you drop them.
|
The map Complex is bugged to shit.
People are glitching into walls and hiding there, frustrating as hell during Flood games. |

I loved Halo 4, probably not as much as 3, but it's still much better than Reach. Campaign wise: Halo 3>Halo ODST>Halo 4>Halo 1>Halo 2>Call of Duty 4>>>>>>Halo:Reach Multiplayer: Halo 3>Halo 2>Halo 4>Halo 1>That Minecraft Halo clone on Xbox Indies>Reach As you can see, Reach is terrible. |
Reach was pretty sucky. The campaign wasn't that replayable, the multiplayer didn't capture me like Halo 2/3 did and Firefight wasn't as near enough entertaining as it was in ODST.
I've put my Halo 4 Legendary run on hold, as Promethean Knights and their little faggot Watchers rape the shit out of me. What happened to the good old days when a good old stick or a supercombine saved the day? |
