I haven't played that, but from what I've seen it's quite a bit different from Resident Evil.
It also completely slipped my mind, so there's that. |
I mean the classic AitD games. They're not that different from RE. In fact RE "borrows" some gameplay elements from it which later became popular within the genre
|
The Resident Evil 6 demo blows, only the Leon part was somewhat enjoyable and they made some gameplay things so much worse. Ok, the moving whilst holding a knife thing is an improvement to be honest but you can get through a horde of zombies just by spamming the right trigger (on xbox) near them and then your character keeps punching them 'till they're all dead. I just thought it was really stupid, I only want to see Leon's part of the game.

That fucking shark... Well, at least you know when Neptune's chasing you, this fucking music starts playing. |
Well we were'nt talking about REmake. We were talking about the hilariously unscary (theres got to be a word for that, but I'm too tired to think of it) original.
|
It wasn't very scary, but it was tense, with the bad controls ect.
That's what annoys me about RE6, the controls. In RE, I'm used to bad controls, I hate these new ones! Leon's campaign was OK at first, but then they had the old "Kill all enemies while I unlock the door". I haven't played the other campaigns yet. |
I've never been hipster enough to consider bad controls a selling point. I'm trying hard, though. I'll get there some day.
|
Shitty storyline and dumb/unoriginal gameplay were considered the best selling points, so why not bad controls?
|
I remember gamespot scored Metroid Prime 3 down because the controls were too intuitive and made the game too easy.
That has to be in the top five reasons to completely disregard anything from that site. |
I loved Metroid Prime 3.
|
I haven't played Resident Evil 6, but I bet it's bad.
|
Like I said, I enjoyed Leon's demo, I just don't like these new controls.
And now they've added 'Run 'n' Gun'! Are they INSANE?! |
Yeah. Since when has the military trained people to move their bodies while firing a gun?
|
Run 'n' Gun was a planned feature for RE5. I don't know why they scrapped this in development
|
To make it harder. If you could move and shoot, the game would be piss easy, that's why they scrapped it.
Still though, it's Resident Evil tradition not to be able to move and shoot! Also, OANST, Leon wasn't trained by the military :L |
Also, OANST doesn't care.
|
I've played Resident Evil 6 and it's marginally better than 5. That being said I'm a jaded bastard who hasn't enjoyed any of them since RE3. Okay, Zero was okay. Four was tolerable as well, but it wasn't a great game for those of us who were expecting the series to follow the suit of its predecessors.

|
It was always good, but the peak was by far RE4.
|
Meh, I just didn't like the story behind RE4. What does las plagas have to do with anything?
|
:
:
|
Who plays games for the story alone?
*Mass Effect* |
:
|
Alright, what games do you play, PURELY for the story?
*Mass Effect* |
Obviously you don't if you like RE4. It wasn't a great game. I'll take story over anything else any day.
|
:
Broken Sword games Monkey Island games Sam & Max games There have to be some other adventure games, but I can't think of any right now. |
:
Seriously, I refuse to believe it. |
:
Just because I play (some) games purely for the story, even if that type of game is my favourite, doesn't mean I can't enjoy games for the gameplay. |
Visual novels, fair enough.
Actually, WoF if you like visual novels there's this one great one that you should play. |

Planescape Torment |
