I can't say one way or the other. I bought it, escaped from Rupture Farms, and then lost interest.

There are a few minor bugs, nothing serious. I played through both on my PSP and experienced fewer crashes than when I played it through the first time on PS1.

Takeshi 09-12-2012 11:21 AM

Guys, if I find a bug its fine, im not going to sit in a corner and cry about I spent £2 on this game for Steam I can still play the game, I need a good controller to buy to play these games!

Nepsotic 09-12-2012 11:27 AM

There really is no need, you get used to keyboard controls, in fact, keyboard and mouse is the best way to play any game.

OANST 09-12-2012 11:30 AM

Read reviews online or something.

Wow

I don't think even MeechMunchie is fanboyish enough to say something that stupid.

I do play a PSX version of AE at the moment and I am used to the mouse and keyboard but I just wanted to see what a controller was like.

Yes I know why am I buying a Steam account when I've got a PSX version of the game, the Laptop is laggy ( hence why im buying a new one ) and I want to play all the OW games.

Crashpunk 09-12-2012 11:32 AM

I always thought AO and AE was better on Keyboard anyway. MO and SW on the other hand, you might as well buy a 360 controller.

You couldn't be more wrong. Third Person Action/Platformers like R&C or Crash Bandicoot for example are better played with a Controller in my opinion. And I repeat. OPINION! Some people are so used to controller, they hate Keyboards + Mouse.

EDIT: Also why do people always refer the Playstation to the PSX! PSX was that Playstation with a built in Digital video recorder that was never released outside of Japan.

I wouldn't say every game. Third Person Action/Platformers like R&C or Crash Bandicoot are better played with a Controller in my opinion, Apart from that yeah; Keyboard and Mouse are the best :)

I do have a wired Xbox 360 wired controller already, but Im not sure on how to setup the controls on games, especially Crash Bandicoot 3, is it because I play a PSX version, and the Steam is the full legit game?

Wings of Fire 09-12-2012 11:36 AM

No, don't be stupid. Games that are specifically developed for consoles are optimized for controllers. This is basic logic.

Really now.

Crashpunk 09-12-2012 11:43 AM

Playing Crash Bandicoot 3 with a Xbox controller...

:crying:

What does that have to do with the fact I want to use a controller

TOUCH SCREENS ARE THE FUTURE

How would you play AO and AE on a touchscreen I think it would be hard :p

OANST 09-12-2012 11:47 AM

From what I can tell, the keyboard and mouse set up is phenomenal for FPS, RPG, and RTS games, but severely lacking for platformers. And I fucking love platformers.

Crashpunk 09-12-2012 11:47 AM

What he said.

Takeshi 09-12-2012 11:48 AM

I will be playing with a keyboard and mouse with AO and AE but its just SW and MO I needed a controller for.

Hey, I saw the previous version of that post!

Crashpunk 09-12-2012 11:50 AM

Okay then fine, use your 360 controller. It should have controller support, if not? well maybe there are some plugins you can install.

I don't know. I've never used a 360 controller on PC before. >_>

Curses, fooled again. And yes it was aimed at you. Touch screens? Baah! There a fun gimmick like 3D.

What controller do you use for SW and MO?

Crashpunk 09-12-2012 11:56 AM

I don't.

I used my keyboard and mouse which I don't recommend. I was thinking about getting a 360 controller but Valve are apparently dropping 360 support on Steam because they hate Microsoft. That and they are apparently making their own controller.

Heh, I should of told you that before.

Dont worry, well I'll take a look online sure I will find something

Look guy if you want to play these games on a PSOne that’s entirely up to you. I don’t understand where all the PC evangelists came from.

Check Amazon, eBay, local game shops and local used/pawn shops. PSOnes really aren’t that expensive, and a PS2 (which could play the same games and more) is not much more expensive.

Maybe you should read what people suggested and posted, someone said if you have a good computer then to get Steam, and it just so happens in a week or 2 I am getting a new laptop. An Alienware laptop, so thats where it come from.

Why not consider getting a Steam account and playing all four Oddworld games on the PC?

Think im gonna go with this

I'm no fanboy, my preferences are based on sound reasoning and past experience.

But yes, I am currently using a joypad to control my GBA emulator. I like to lean back in my chair so that the image looks roughly the right size, and the buttons are pretty close to the real thing.

I wouldn't buy a PS3 this late in the console cycle if I were you. The PS4 will probably be out in a year and a half.

I plan on buying a PS3 later this year. It will be much cheaper than a PS4 at launch, allow me to watch blu-rays, and I can catch up on exclusives. I'll probably jump onto the next Xbox over PS4 anyways.

What you mean its not a good port?

:

()
How so?

On my PAL PS3, the game was shown in a small, low-res box in the middle (but off-centre vertically) of the large screen. It had been stretched slightly - just enough to look blurry and crap - but not enough to fill the screen from top to bottom. The letterboxing was in-game, though, so I couldn't even tell my monitor to widen the image. I can only assume it was a very cheap job at converting an NTSC image to PAL.

Not a bad idea but, well when I get my college money I was going to buy an alienware laptop, and can I play all the OddWorld games with a steam account?

Yes. You won't need a new computer to play AO or AE, though. They've been playable on computers since 1997, so any computer still working today should be able to support them.

Nepsotic 09-13-2012 12:30 AM

On psp you can change the screen, so it can't be the port. Maybe you can change it on PS3,too.

I get you now, well now Im just stuck between a Steam account or a PS1.
