Ah but apparently that was the old line, and the one that you're all familiar with is the newest version. :P
Confused yet? What I wanted to say yesterday is that I'm glad OWI are digging through their old material. It'd be nice if they showed more stuff like that. |
I want to see the Japanese advert for Abe a Go Go in full HD, 720p
MAKE IT HAPPEN! |
Oh god.
Do it. |
Yes!
:
Yes, this is definately something we need. |
Why does it say "It's time to confess"? It doesn't make much sense, I love that aggressiveness in the voice at the end though, and all the way through the video it sounds more sinister.
Because it's a shrink, you tend to tell things to shrinks.
In fact, How about JAW remake the Abe A gogo ad for the release of Abe HD? All the team has to dance whilst Stewart is dressed as Abe.
If it means we get to see Wil dancing then I'm in.
:
How about an Oddworld themed Dance Central game for Kinect? A game in which Stewart Gilray comes into your living room and dances with you. |
I don't know what you guys are struggling with, he clearly says "confess".

As if you need an excuse. We've seen you, Glitch. We've seen you.
For some reason I'm getting flashbacks to a MO Windows Media Player visualization.
I actually prefeer the original one, I don't like the dialogue change!
This is brilliant! :D
Do you guys think this might've been a test for Abe HD? You know, perhaps they was testing making the cutscenes HD with this?
Wil's post above implies that it was a file they found in the archives rather than something they produced new.
Ah.

In fact, the original line doesn't make much sense, either, since the Shrink's lines "doesn't mean there's no hope" and "You need to look within if you wanna be free" sounds like he's giving Abe advice or encourage him. Except, the Shrink is supposed to be an antagonist. Sure, they both SOUND cool and menacing and fit the tone of the commercial, but... yeah. |
Aside from the Guardian Angel FMV, could someone explain this to me please?...
In he opening of abe's oddysee he says 'i just had to escape, i just had to be free, and i didnt know i had a destiny, so get me outta here!" - i always thought that in the Demo of this game there was an extra line which was "and help me rescue the others". I dont know if its my imagination running wild or if they cut it out from the official full release of the game back in '97. |
You're right. Well I don't know if it was in the demo or whereever it was but I'm also sure that in some it said that.
You're absolutely correct. Except it's possible it wasn't removed from the final game, but added to the demo to make the gameplay more explicit for players.
I've been looking at the demo movie recently. And yes, it's an abridged version of the full FMV that was done differently, both to save filesize space and give the player a small taster of the full game without giving too much away. Watch it here (click).
The "It's time to confess" makes me feel Abe failed to save the mudokons and his fellow brothers are actually in control of the shrink.
Actually are shrink's suppose to have a mind of its own or is suppose to be controlled by someone? |
They have their own AI.
