Great initiative, this realy makes me wish I had some more time to play games those days. I'll keep an eye on this and try to participate if possible.

I vote for Resident Evil 4 too (as I am playing it right now)!

I’ll try to take part where I can, but I only have a 360, PS2 and a low end PC. I don’t often have the money to buy games, either, so I’d probably only be taking part if it’s a game I own already (or if it’s old enough to emulate I guess).

e: My vote would go to a Sonic game if that’s still on the table, seeing as how it was me whining about it in the other thread. Plus, I have the early games on like 15 different platforms.

FYI your 'whining' more or less explained how to have fun playing Sonic CD for the first time since I was a squirt who didn't know dick about how to play.

You can get it on PC, but mods are necessary to make it halfway enjoyable since it has no mouse aiming.

So I'm thinking Resident Evil 4, specifically the PS2 version. You can play it on PC, Wii and Gamecube as well and I know for a fact it's only 9.99 on PSN, so we have 5 available consoles for a pretty accessible game.

Remember when we got Crystal Defenders or whatever? I tried to download Yaris along with MM9 but at that point they'd taken it down. Bastards.

I forgot that they took it down. God, that game was awful. Even for a free game it wasn't worth it.

Also I change my vote to Beyond Good and Evil since it has been sitting on my hard drive forever.

Seriously, though. It's highly likely that not everyone will be able to participate the first time around. Now, since we all pretty clearly own computers (or someone is a goddamn witch) I suggest any sort of freeware as a possible starting point.

Now, my initial intention (vision, possibly) was for quality of participation, but not quantity of participants. What I mean by that is that we dig really deep into the game, find and investigate every weird little thing or oddity we might be interested in and see where that takes us. On the other hand, it would be very nice to have the bulk of OWF's gamers joining in on something, but it's not really my call.

It's probable (and not unreasonable to think) that a lot of people are going to think this is great right now and either lose interest or outright forget about it. I'm not saying that I want to exclude anyone, but understand that you might be able to actively participate one month and not the other. I can honestly say that any recent PC exclusive game is going to leave me in the dust, holding my dusty gozangas.

I've got a "legal" copy on disc somewhere, and I have been meaning to play it.

Speaking of which, I think Outcast is abandonware now, as is the orgininal Dungeon Keeper. So, you know, ethics and shit.

Still support BG&E right now though.

EDIT: You have to admit that being able to upload your score to their site to compare with other players was a really awesome thing that they did - especially for 2003. It's a shame more single-player games don't do that. Maybe we can compare our scores here at the end or so. :)
