I feel like a bad person.. But there are certain ethnicities that I'm not so crazy about either(in the way they look). I wish I was 100% unbiased... but I'm not ._. I guess we all have been conditioned by media to a certain extent.
Edit: I actually have an interesting question(well, I think it's interesting). What do you think of one race acting like another race? Such as white kids 'acting' black. or otaku's 'acting' Japanese? Is that a bad thing? Annoying? Im asking cos ... in a way, i think it's just another form of racism(not necessarily malicious)... I think that saying that caucasians can't act in a certain way just because they are traits most commonly associated with another race, is wrong. Or viceversa. What about all the different races living in a Caucasian-domianted society? Would they be accused of 'acting' White in their home country as well? |
Well white kids acting black ... One of the things about modern day society that pisses me off the most. But on the other hand ...
:
So I guess it depends for me. |
Well personally.... I kind of can't stand people acting like something else deliberately :p.... But I still think they shouldn't like... be hated for it.
For example, if a white kid grows up with Anime. it's only natural they are gonna copy some of the behavior. Or if they have many friends of one culture. We naturally 'copy' others. I mean, I'm sure most most people have noticed they they started to use words and terms that was unique to the friend they spent a lot of time with. For example, a lot of people here at Wirtek say "Oof oof" :p But when they do it deliberately to be 'cool' or 'cute', I can't stand it. Cos it shows, and it feels forced... And it's no better than a Hipster. In the butt. |
It depends on the portrayal, methinks. I catch myself using various foreign phrases and such. It's all relative, really. And, it's kind of odd. i live in a town with alot of black people, and the white kids growing up around them tend to glean various "black" behaviors. As racist as that sounds. I'm starting to ramble, I kinda forgot my point...Damn.
|
I don't think I act like Japanese, although I've always grown up around anime, I'm just absolutely fascinated with the culture. I know a lot about Japan but don't really act like them
|
I don’t find Asians very attractive.
|
Preposterous!
|

|
I meant in the downstairs department.
|
About the whole acting like another culture thing, it depends on what has influenced said behaviour. If the person has grown up within a society that is heavily based on a certain culture, then I can understand gaining a lot of those traits. After all, it's the same as accents being changed by living in a place for so long, or certain sayings or habits, it's hard to avoid. However, if someone is copying from a celebrity because they think it's cool, it can get slightly irritating.

What is this? I don't understand the question.
|
The word is 'weaboos' dear God, 'Otaku' is simply a Japanese nerd.
|
I used to be all about Asian girls, because I was an outstandingly run-of-the-mill sheltered nerd. Thing is, High School taught me that Japanese women are voraciously childish and annoying to be around. Just the most grating people. I'm not generalizing entirely, plenty are obviously normal ina way conducive to my high standards and their own culture, but the bulk I've had to deal with just left me with irritated culture shock.
I find Aboriginal men and women (Canadian edition; 'Natives') attractive, but only the pretty ones. EDIT: WOW am I shallow. |
:
Dear God. |
Otakus can still apply to Caucasian basement dwellers. Nobody says 'weeaboo' out loud unless they essentially want to out themselves as something worse.
|
:
Refering to yourself or other western fans as otakus is almost as weaboo as using Japanese honorifics with your friends or refering to Princess Mononoke and Neon Genesis Evangelion as Mononoke-Hime and Shin Seiki Evangerion. As to what you said: There's nothing sexy or fetishizing about people who imitate other cultures to try and look cool. How are you even supposed to imitate anything except black gang culture? |
I'm not saying it's weeaboos
But it's weeaboos |
I'm not too fussed.
My attraction to people is so varied it is difficult to describe succinctly. Suffice to say, what you expect me to dislike, often I don't. Alcar... |
I generally only really like white girls. I do like asians...sort of. But to be honest, I've never been really attracted to any other ethnicity.
EDIT: That saying I can't stand the American accent so I guess its only british white girls. Thats something we can talk about, What accents do you find attractive? :tard: |
Russian (Male)
Ukranian (Male) Some Scandanavian country I wouldn't be able to identify by accent alone (Female) |
French...
and of course Slovenian... |
Middle eastern and Indian accents are cute, East Asian accents are not*.
Scottish for both genders, Irish for men, north eastern american for men, Spanish and German for girls. *When speaking english. Japanese accents speaking Japanese is a turn on however, whilst Chinese is annoying. For me, the two sexiest voices in the world are Jean Reno and Jouji Nakata. |
Argonians.
|
Turns out I quite like the American middle state accents, I love the Russian accent but it's not like a turn on or anything, anywhere south of the Midlands in the UK is okay for me as well.

A ffine trropphy fforr my young... |
I like that really nice lightish brown skin colour.
But I'm not very fussed about nationality. |
Have to say black people are pretty bangin'

Also how does referring to someone as Otaku make you a weaboo. I come from a culture where referring to them as Otakus is perfectly acceptable. There's no weaboo intent behind it. It's just an accepted term in DK and nothing more, which is why I used it. Im just used to it. Seriously, don't get caught up in terms. Anyway I'm also referring to things such as making the peace sign. Many people these days will call you a weaboo if you do it, which kind of annoys me. Cos the Peace sign isn't exclusive to Japan. Same with a lot of things. THe clothing, the culture traits... it's just a huge ping pong between nations. Japan goes overboard with their style, which they initially adapted from the west, and then the west adapt that as well and make it 'western' and so on. |
