I believed that to be true, so hopefully we won't have the humanity they gave the game.

It's weird. It was still in-house, which we know because there's art and level designs by Inhabitants. But realtime model animation at least was outsourced to Alcazar Entertainment.
|
I'm a little surprised that OWI's in-house production team would churn out such uninspired designs. Hopefully if Fangus does come back, Lorne will have more input.
|
EDIT: Whoops! New page.

I must say, The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot deffenaty sounds like the most interesting and in-depth of OWI's cancelled games. Not that we really know much about the other games but I find it hard to to take a charecter called Squeek or Nod seriously.
|
Yeah, but I'm still looking forward to Nod's Oddysee!
|
Where actually is the source for Nod?
http://www.oddworldforums.net/showthread.php?t=14890 I looked through the links here but they all lead to you denying delusionality. |
Nod was the rumoured name of the fourth hero in the Oddworld Quintology for years before it was confirmed as being apocryphal by Lorne Lanning. According to the rumour, Nod would have starred in Oddworld: Nod’s Oddysee as per the nomenclature of the preceding Quintology stories. The rumour did not detail the character or story of Nod in any way, and to date these, along with the genuine name of the fourth character, remain unknown.
The persistence of the rumour is largely due to its being repeated on the Oddworld Forums by Max the Mug for a number of years, from which it spread to other sources: initially fansites, then other Oddworld fan communities, and eventually even the Oddworld article on Wikipedia. Over time, Max was increasingly criticized for not being able to show a source for this information, which he claimed was an interview with an Oddworld Inhabitant that had been lost since 1999.[1] When Max asked members of the Exoddus Club in February 2000 if they’d heard of Nod, member George_T_Gimp said he thought he could also remember Nod being named in an interview.[2] Lorne explicitly identified Oddworld: Nod’s Oddysee as a rumour in an interview with Russian gaming magazine Игромания published in September 2007,[3] but news of this did not reach members of the Oddworld Forums until member MeechShrykull1029 posted a link to the online copy of the interview in April 2008.[4]

I cannot trust anything you say Wil. ;)

Funny MS did something good for once. Hopefully now you've posted that properly, people will stop moaning about Nod.

Nod's Oddysee goty 20XX
|
I'd love it if OWI just went "sure, why not?" and made Nod's Oddysee.
The villain would, of course, be the Buncetron. |
Well they certainly seem to be making everything else.
|
There is now a competition to design the look of the Buncetron.
Entries to be sent to Splat's personal e-mail address for moderation. |
Do you think there is a possiblity of a Abe's Exoddus HD?
|
I reckon the possibility is at least there taking from what the article explains.
|
:
i love my crossovers Also if there's going to be an HD of like every other game I don't see why exoddus wouldn't be remade as well, eventually. |
So were you intentionally shit-stirring Max, or are/were you genuinely convinced that you actually read about Nod somewhere. If the former; well done, your little joke became big enough for Lorne to dismiss.
|
I still remember reading that interview.
|
Who the feck is Nod?!?!??!?!? :-/
;-) |
I can really see that turning into Oddworld's biggest mystery - And if you have Mr. Gilray himself here asking that then you know what I'm saying is true. :D Thanks, Max. :P
|
I think Max is telling the truth here, perhaps I should be more sceptical but there are written accounts in a Russian Magazine proving his theory.

Okay, so my big brother is playing Morrowind: Bloodmoon and it's, like, 2002 so we're both still really wowed by it. So after fighting off mysterious lupine assailants we finally wrestle an explanation out of the village elder bloke. He goes off on a dark story of bloodthirsty gods and dark prophecies, his aged voice cracking with the grim realisation that it's all happening, now. "Look to the skies, Outlander," he proclaims, "And see the Blood Moon rising." We look up. AND ITS FUCKING OVERCAST We both fall about laughing for about twenty minutes. |
Well maybe he had a calendar.
There is a single moon 'visible' in the nighttime section of Stranger's Wrath, all the way from Raider's hideout to Stranger going to sleep. At least in the PC version under ATI graphics, it is merely a circular white glow permeating the raincloud. |
i liked the part where he mentioned the collecters edition download code thing with cool art cards. so so so hope sony lets them do it.

Has anyone else noticed that the YouTube video has been removed by the user?

“It’s not just the characters that have character; the whole world has character.”
Im glad that there clearly taking this into account. The atmosphere is really what makes the oddworld games great in my opinion |
